Disastrous Experience with Matchmaking Service I couldn't be more disappointed with the matchmaking service I received. After shelling out a substantial $20,000, I was promised 20 dates with model-looking girls who matched my preferences. However, the reality of the situation was far from what was advertised. I paid for a matchmaking service and 3 months later, they matched me with 12 people. I liked 2 of them, got their numbers, but one didn't answer and the other didn't show up for a date. Another 3 months passed, and they gave me another 12 matches, but none were from my city (Los Angeles) They were all from New York or Miami, which was not what I wanted. When I complained they said my subscription was over and didn't do anything to fix the problems. To add insult to injury, the owner of the service Devyn Simone abruptly stopped responding to my texts. In conclusion, my experience with this matchmaking service was a complete waste of money. I am writing this in the hopes that it helps someone, because when I read the reviews before signing up, I saw almost all positive ones and only a few negative ones. It looks like several people recently had a similar experience to mine: a bad one. After reading the negative reviews, I 100% agree on these two common themes: matches that are completely different than what you're looking for, and a 'throw-stuff-against-the-wall-until-it-sticks' mentality. Simply put, this is nothing more than a scam. They know how to sweet-talk and turn on the charm in the initial sales call, convincing you they can find ideal, uniquely curated matches. And they're certainly happy to take your money, non-refundable, and all upfront to boot -- after the payments clear, it's steeply downhill from there. I hoped the process would work for me, and thought it would be worth a shot: I'm a busy, successful woman who has been dating half my life, and I could use the help searching. Well, it turns out that I don't need it, especially for $5,400. $5,400 (originally it was $5,900, but I got a Birthday Discount) included 2 coaching sessions, a photo shoot, and 3 matches over a 3-month period. 3 months ended up turning into almost a year, in addition to a complete waste of time and money. I did not have one iota of physical attraction to any of the people I was matched with, nor did these people fit what I was looking for. Each time I restated what I was looking for, I was told that I needed to be "open-minded" and "try something new", or to remember "attraction is subjective". Basically, to just take whatever they're throwing my way, even if it doesn't align with my needs. Something to note, if you're a taller woman, they don't take height into consideration. My first matchmaker repeatedly forgot everything we discussed, it was like Groundhog Day. After dealing with that nonsense for 6 months, and being paired with 2 people who I had zero interest in, and who also did not meet my requirements, I complained and asked to be reassigned. I was given a bonus match and another matchmaker. My second matchmaker was a very nice person who genuinely wanted to help, but also was unable to pair me with the type of people I was looking for. I was over it by the time the last match hit my inbox, who was, yet again, someone I was not attracted to. I chose not to proceed simply to be done, and not waste the time and energy. After almost a year of disappointment and frustration, life is too short. And they already had my money. I am not a shallow person, and I am not looking for a model. If they have such a "robust pool of tens of thousands of singles" as they claim to have, then why am I able to find way better matches on my own, for free? I don't think they have the pool. When I decided that I wanted help with dating, Nada was the first person that came to mind and the only person I wanted to work with. Nada is a level above the typical matchmaker. She is intuitive and encouraging. I appreciated her positive energy and approach. She was always available whenever I had a question or needed anything. It remains to be seen whether or not I have found "my person" through working with Nada and TDR. However, all of my matches met exactly the requirements and preferences that Nada and I had discussed. Update: For this company to imply I was satisfied with their services is a complete lie. I was considering purusing legal action because of the company's outright misrepresentation. As such I'm knocking my review down a star. I didn't inquire about the coach they referenced. The matchmaker kept pushing me to have sessions with them. After I expressed concern about how the person had plagiarized photos of people for testimonials and the matchmaker said in an email with her manager copied that she also uses fake photos on her website for testimonials. The matchmaker as far as I know is still with the company despite raising concerns in April. There's other issues I can outline but the fact that this company had staff call me before working hours and email me to tell me I'm unprofessional for writing a negative review is atrocious. I specifically chose not to continue doing business with this company because they take no accountability for their actions and they blame others for their mistakes. As far as the company caring about giving advice, at first the CEO said that their staff are not obligated at all to offer advice, and that's basically shown by the fact the matchmakers didn't provide any useful insights or attempt to help when I asked questions. I generally don't write negative reviews. But this company deserves one because I got defrauded. I will state objective facts that can be verified: I was presented with a match that was divorced even though I indicated from the very beginning I don't want to be matched with divorced women. I found this out using my own background search. When I confronted my matchmaker Simone with the information, she said she was aware that the woman was divorced and calmly said that marital status is not part of the contract. The brochure stated I will be presented with 24 matches for the so-called "VIP" membership. But the actual contract states "3 Lists of Potential Matches to Member". So, this "3 lists" can be 3 lists of 2 women for a total of 6 if they like. In my case, the last three matches were presented as "bonus matches" and their contact information was withheld. I strongly recommend the reader of this review to not become a victim of fraud like I did. You have been warned. Don't go by their "testimonials" on their website. read more

I was a member years go when they were on the show Shark Tank. I did the membership plan before they started charging these crazy 1500-2000$ packages. I never landed 1 date and it was a big waste of my freaking time. Here is the issue when you have so called matchmaker experts not all are caring or consistent. You need to be your best job to vet them out so you have good ones. I had 2 that weren't even in relationships or married but yet giving me advice on how to date?? that makes no freaking sense. Practice what you preach. Even the owner who is a lawyer by trade no longer manages the company anymore cause she had no idea the hell she was doing to be a dating expert. I'm not a paid member, I'm a registered member, so that puts me in a different category. I want to acknowledge Maryann who so kindly called me up to inform of a possible match. Short answer = Not worth it. I know it varies by state by 5-6k for three months is a lot and you don't get your money's worth. But if like me you read the comments but still somehow convince yourself to take the plunge, let me tell you some tips so that you can make the most of your time with your matchmaker. While the matchmakers seem nice as people that doesn't mean they are great as matchmakers and you shouldn't let them off the hook for that. You are paying for a service in which they supposedly know better than you and so should be doing their utmost to help you so demand that. So obviously I didn't find a match through the service which I kind of had the feeling was going to be the case after my second match went not that great. Since you pay it all up front I realized it was now up to me to try to make something out of this situation. So my recommendation is to really just try to do all the looking on your own instead of waiting for the matchmaker to match you from the beginning. Then while you are on the apps or wherever talking to potential dates, or after dates use you matchmaker for coaching or as a sounding board. Send them messages anytime and all the time so that they can help you re-word things and talk you off the ledge. I only really did this for one month after I had quite given up on the idea that I should leave them be to woek their magic and find me matches. They are mainly recycling through their database and aren't going out and finding anyone specifically for you. So you do the work from the get-go so that you can make the most of this process. (Or obviously just sign up for some other dating coaching service so you can use someone as a sounding board instead of a matchmaker to find you your one). There is a photography session for better pictures before any dates and a couple online sessions with a dating coach (different from your matchmaker) after a couple dates and these were pretty good. But you can do these on your on via a google search and Groupon etc. instead of going through the matchmaking service. Make you own list of non-negotiables before you sign up for the service. Know that even though it just seems like a friendly conversation, they will hold you to your list so if height is a big deal for you don't go from 6 ft to 5'8 and say that's ok if it is not. They will try to convince you to settle because of better personalities but you know what you want so stick with that because then they can just say they met your list and give you matches that have nothing to do with what you like physically or mentally. And once they decide to match you, you don't really get to say no if it meets all your non -negotiablea for them hence be really careful with this. Once you agree for a date though, go in with an open mind and treat your dates with respect. Review: In my case even the non-negotiables were at the end ignored because they felt like the personalities would be a better match and convinced me I should be more open minded. In the end, the personalities weren't that great of any of the three matches they supposedly searched high and low to find for me. In my experience they were not any better than trying your luck with the apps and at least you don't spend so much money in the process thinking they know better. If you watch matchmaking shows on Netflix, my experience was more Seema aunty from Indian matchmaking in terms of asking to settle or lower expectations instead of the matchmaker from Jewish Matchmaking show who at least listens to her clients' wants and asks. read more

Full disclosure: I am not a paying customer for TDR...rather, I am just a beneficiary of Nassim's matchmaking skills. My girlfriend and I could not be more different in many ways. She is one of the most outgoing and sociable people I've ever met, while I am an introvert. From the beginning, I felt like she cared deeply about my happiness and success, and she was available for any support I needed over the 8 months we worked together. I heard about "Three Day Rule" via LinkedIn from one of its Matchmakers (Justine Luzzi) in 2021, who had messaged me and asked me if I was interested in meeting men via their matchmaking service. She said that unlike other matchmaking services, they actually had real live men who are "interested in a relationship." I was genuinely intrigued. I held off until 2022 because of the pandemic. I messaged the company in July 2022 and didn't receive a response until August. I ended up signing up with them in August and my Matchmaker was Natalia Genevieve. She was nice, but I didn't like her recommendations for my photoshoot. She recommended ripped jeans and an ugly dress. My photoshoot didn't really come out so great so I asked to be reassigned to another matchmaker. I was introduced to Laura Menze, who was excellent! She really listened and gave me good feedback! She was able to find some decent dates for me. The first guy she matched me with was a divorced man with long hair and a beard, who was interested in dressing up in costumes/cosplay and being immature and basically had no interest in me. The second guy she matched me with was a decent man without a professional job, who I would have tried to make it work if he had a better career. I did not get to meet the third guy because he "found someone else." The fourth guy, was a working professional with an awful/fake personality and the fifth guy ghosted me. I never met him in person. None of this is her fault nor the company's fault. They are just doing their job. Laura worked really hard to find guys for me and went above and beyond to try and find someone for me. This is the reality we live in today: Women are exceptional and men are mediocre. There just aren't enough quality men out there! I've seen the other reviews here of women complaining that they were matched with guys who didn't meet their criteria and you guys forget how hard their job is (the matchmakers). They have to convince guys to go out on blind dates with you. Maybe you are not what they want either and they set you up with guys who won't reject you (and sometimes will reject you). They slid into my DMs on LinkedIn and said, "Are you single and tired of swiping?" TDR's sales pitch was enticing after 2 years of a pandemic. I was promised 3 carefully curated matches over 3 months, no more miserable 1st dates, and if my perfect match was not already in their large database, they would actively seek him out based on my criteria. I described my ideal match as the way Ruth Bader Ginsburg would describe her "Marty". Yet, my 1st match was cropped out of a photo of him with his arms around 4 "models". He has also publicly made womanizing remarks on his friend's photos on social media. I've never been set up on a date that missed the mark by so far. I wish I can say that this was a misstep by TDR and that my other matches were significantly better, but they weren't. TDR has too many customers to deal with. All they can offer is matching you with whoever happens to be in their database. If your match is not there, they can only fudge some basic information and get folks to go on a date and mechanically fulfill their 3-match quota. The matches in their database haven't paid any money, so they really don't have any skin in this game. I was matched with a Three Day Rule client in Arlington after meeting with Kat, one of the local matchmakers. From the start of my meeting with her, she was professional yet warm and made me feel like I could totally be myself. I explained what I was looking for in a boyfriend or future partner and I felt very heard in that time. Fast forward about two weeks later and I was matched with the sweetest guy. He was a little bit older than I thought I would date, but Kat had given me all the info ahead of time so I wasn't caught off guard or anything. He ended up being an amazing date and we made plans to get together again a few nights later. We've been on three dates now and then social distancing kicked in. We have continued to talk and I'm hopeful things will resume but for now, I just wanted to say how refreshing it was to go out with a great guy who seemed to be looking for an actual relationship.
