I had high hopes for this place as the person answering the phone sounded like he is off the boat. We had the mozzarella and carrozza which should be Tuscan bread stuffed with cheese and fried and comes with a tomato sauce. Instead you get mushy bread with cheese on top with a brown gravy. We got the manicotti which tasted fine which for 14.50 you only get 2 pieces. The spaghetti puttanesca which was dry and didn't have flavor. Lastly we asked for a kids portion of chicken parm but they told us they only have a kids portion of chicken cutlet and that it would cost more money for the cheese and sauce, which was fine with us, but what I received when I got home was a extremely small chicken cutlet with cheese and sauce no pasta and I was charged $20 for this, which I don't understand.. I should've just gotten a normal size portion for that price read more

I've been here twice, and unfortunately both experiences were disappointing. The first time, the older gentleman behind the counter was very rude and cranky. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was just having a bad day, so I still ordered because I was in a rush. The second visit confirmed that it wasn't just a one-time thing--he had the same rude attitude. Based on how I was treated, I personally felt that his behavior may have been racially motivated, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. What really bothered me, though, was the lack of basic hygiene. I saw him come from the back and immediately start preparing food without washing his hands or wearing gloves. That's extremely unsanitary and unacceptable in any food establishment. At that point, I chose to leave. Between the poor customer service, the uncomfortable experience, and the cleanliness concerns, I won't be returning. There are plenty of other places that value both their customers and proper hygiene. read more

I just wish I could give this place more stars but the lil old man that I originally tried to stick up for, is just plain awful. My best friend just moved to Kenilworth and so she and her husband we're trying out different pizzerias in town. I suggested this place because of the name first and foremost and honestly because they have tortellini en brodo and not many places make this anymore. Given the statement, I figured that the owners or old-school Italians and so the food would be phenomenal. Now don't get me wrong, the food was good. I loved my soup and the pizza was good because it has a good sauce. The subs were OK. But the customer service was so terrible that you felt like you were the old man's enemy as soon as you get on the phone. I called and gave an order under the assumption that they delivered. The man bellowed into the phone, "NO we don't deliver. You come and pick it up!" I told my BFF and her whole fam ( there were like 10 of us so we def helped the restaurant profit) that it was fine. I would go pick it up. Everybody worried and said maybe we should cancel the order because the way the man was yelling at me was crazy. They were concerned he would be vengeful . Every order I gave he would tell me what I could have and couldn't have. And then at the very end he screams into the phone and there's no credit card you must pay cash. When I hung up the phone, I made an excuse for him because being Italian I thought he was just an older Italian man I've been on his feet all day and was very old-school. They laughed at me and I went and picked it up. When I walked in there was a lady talking to the man behind the counter who did not say hello to me nor smile. She actually said, "This is the girl that gave me a hard time on the phone." I cracked up laughing. And I said, "Are you kidding me. You were very very rude on the phone." The lady that was standing next to him says- oh this is just how he is. And I thought to myself she seems like a regular which made her pretty crazy, too. Making excuses for his absolutely despicable behavior and attitude- not to mention his total disregard for customer service. Who TF would ever want to be paying their hard earned money to this abusive man who makes them feel like sh*t for even picking up the phone and dialing. Hey softened up a little bit after I paid you told me to have a good night. I got back to the house and we all made jokes about how this man was yelling at me. And we let it go because the food was good. Kat to three months later when my best friend decide she's going to try this guy for her son's birthday party. Unfortunately, her son wasn't feeling well and she had to cancel the birthday party which means she had to cancel her order. She had only ordered four subs a few pizzas and she called the day before and asked the same mean man if she could cancel without him accruing any costs. Now she didn't cancel and say FU. She was polite enough to see if she could cancel and it would be no problem. She figured it wouldn't be a problem because it was only pizzas and sandwiches. The man screamed at her about how he had to order extra rolls for this order. Know who the heck asked order for extra rolls and why would that be that big of a deal unless this place doesn't have many customers. When she's hanging up he tells her to do what she feels is right. What kind of mumbo-jumbo is that? So laughable at this point. I'm so sorry, Three Guys from Italy. I was rooting for you! But since you scare customers, rape them w upcharges, make them feel less than, don't take credit cards and don't deliver - tell me what I'm the world is the benefit of patronizing your establishment. I'm addition, the old man is nicer to men when they call and that's really not cool. Furthermore, I read some of these reviews and you made people uncomfortable to eat inside the restaurant. So what I've gathered from the reviews is this: horrid customer service, ridiculous prices and upcharges, mysoginist, racist, and I'm so sure the list goes on. Do BETTER! read more

I own a business and I know how tough it is - so I don't criticize - just try to point out ways to improve - nice dining room, food & I brought a nice bottle of wine - but in instead of Frank Sinatra and Dino on the speakers - I heard cross-talk from the adjoining room's TV (annoying and out of sync with the whole experience) - I would recommend - closing off the TV room and piping in some Italian music to go with a nice dinner. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review of this place yet! We frequent this place for lunch because we absolutely love it. To be honest, I can only review their Stromboli because it is my favorite dish. Theirs is more calzone-shaped with sausage, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I have had one other thing - I think it was a cheese sandwich, and it was basically a parmesan something sandwich with no something. It was only mozzarella, sauce, and the roll. I have to say, even for something so simple, it was good. It was weird to be able to order it! Regardless, I don't go there often enough to order anything but the Stromboli because we don't go enough weeks in a row not to. Anyway, the first time that we went there we were terrified. Once we got used to the "guys" and they got used to us, it became one of our favorite places to go. At lunch, pre-COVID, it was quiet and we always took the big round table in the back. It was perfect for us. It was inexpensive and no one ever complained about the food. People would get a mix of eggplant parm, meatball parm, whatever chicken dishes.. everyone else doesn't fall into the "favorite" rut that I do. Now that we are on COVID, I'm in the office once a week with another lady, and we mix it up sometimes but I still pretty much order the Stromboli when go to Three Guys. read more

Simply the worst Italian Restaurant I've ever been to. They charged me $ 14 per Caesar salad that had old romaine lettuce and 6 strands of grilled chicken. Oh you guys are funny. If this place is worth five stars then I really feel sorry for the people of New Jersey. We stopped into this little hole in the wall place after taking a drive over to Wine Library in Springfield. Yelp reviews looked pretty good, and I'm cool with the homestyle italian setting. So here's the setup. Think of your local VFW, much smaller, dressed up with some semi-clean linens and some spotty glasses. This is "Three Guys from Italy". What I will say is that the guy on the side making pizza was hilarious. When we walked in, there was a party going on so we asked if they were closed for it. He said we were being ridiculous and should go sit down (in the Italian accent of course). But besides the decor and whatnot, what sucked was the food. I love Chicken Cacciatore, and I love it even more when an Italian place actually has it on the menu, but it was not very good. The chicken was decent, but the sauce was like broth. And I know Cacciatore sauce can be thin, and I'm ok with that, but this was soup with noodles ontop and chicken ontop of that, topped with some crushed tomatoes. There was no sauce, just juice, which obviously didn't stick to the noodles. I really do feel bad, but I'm pretty upset we chose this place to eat when we could have gone anywhere else, or eaten in NY which is where we were headed. Three Guys From Italy has been on my radar for a while. Why not give them a try? One large pepperoni pizza, eggplant parmigiana, chicken murphy, chicken on the bone, no mushrooms but with extra potatoes, peppers in a demi glacé. Veal pizziola, veal in a red sauce with capers. Kenilworth is about twenty minutes from Berkeley Heights. About five minutes away, we received a phone call advising our order was ready. That was a nice touch. We hustled the food home. The pizza wasn't cut. That was weird but it was very good. Everything else was delicious and well prepared. I particularly liked my chicken murphy. I'm a big fan of this kind of dish, either murphy, scarpiello or giambotta. Meats with potatoes and peppers in a good sauce is always a winner in my book. Good bread to sop up all that delicious sauce. So, the next time we feel like Italian, I'll quit my whining and come here. read more
