Always great pizza. Good sauce, tasty cheese and great cheese pull, crunchy crust. This time we had plain and tried the ham and pineapple. You can't miss ordering the plain and those that had the ham and pineapple really enjoyed it. The lemon calamari was also very good. Highly recommend dipping the rolls in the lemon calamari sauce that's full of glorious garlic. Service can be a bit slow, but otherwise always a great experience here. been going to Vinnys for more years than we can count. Went again yesterday. one person ordered eggplant parm, not edible, did not even look or smell good. pasta with their famous sauce came with it, also not edible. Shrimp fra diavola I always rated the best of three places where I have had it. The last two times it was not their usual sauce and did not have the kick it normally did. the last person ordered a dinner special that she has had before, barely edible. the server brought the appetizers and the napkins with fork and knife except one did not have a fork. the server was busy talking with someone by the front window and finally came back to the table and we had to ask again for our drinks that were ordered. the "cook" that was at the pizza oven was too busy with the ear plugs for his phone in his ear and then playing with the phone. we have not seen the owner there for quite some time either when we eat in or do carry out. unfortunately, all his hard work developing this business is now going downhill. read more

Vinny's Pizza and Pasta always seems to be a busy and for good reason their food is great! Last time we were there we tried their dinner special for two. We started with the the Lemon Calamari which is our favorite for dipping their addicting pizza rolls into the lucious sauce. We choose the Cavatelli and Broccoli as our pasta and had the Chicken Marsala that was loaded with a flavorful gravy and mushrooms. We had no room for dessert, but took it to go. We ordered goat cheese salad and fried calamari. Our server ( owner's mother) was kind enough to suggest that we split the salad because the serving was big, so we decided to get another order of just calamari. Salad came with raspberry vinaigrette in the side. We asked for some arugula to be mixed in our salad Andy they did it for us. The salad was nice and fresh with olives and candied walnuts. The calamari was tender and not too salty. The marinara was served hot! I'm glad this place we came here. It was recommended by the local bakery owner couple of doors down. Vinny's is right in the heart of downtown Cranford, directly across from a little fountain and the local movie theatre, which is super cute. We picked up for delivery (during COVID times) and the employees seemed to be acting very prudently, wearing masks and not allowing anyone inside. There were signs on the door directing customers how to proceed with getting their orders. I had the Chicken Caesar Wrap on a whole wheat wrap with an extra Caesar dressing on the side and it was very yummy. It did need that extra dressing though to be flavorful enough. And only $6.95! You really can't beat that. We also ordered sautéed broccoli to split amongst ourselves and with a little salt that was very good too. Overall, solid prices for solid meals! I walked in this place and with 4 workers standing at the front door and 3 behind the counter I received not 1 hello or a how can I help you. Customer service was a joke. It was late so I ignored the bad 1st impression and still gave them a shot. I ordered the wings PLAIN with a side of Asian and Buffalo sauce. I received my order smothered in the Asian sauce. Thanks.. Next I ordered the spicy sauce pasta with mushrooms and onion. Tasted great until I noticed they add pickled jalapeños in there? WHY?? LOL as a cook I do not understand why someone would put picked anything inside a pasta dish. Gave the pasta a vinegar taste!! WHYYYY?? I ended my meal with thier Brooklyn Square pizza. WOW. Very disappointing . Super thick white bread like crust. Hardly any cheese and the sauce was the best part of it. I ate 1 slice and asked our server to place the rest into a box. $60 later $70 with a $10 tip. I'm left with a empty tummy and lost in confusion. To the manager or owner. Your business is a 3.5 star restaurant. You need to start making changes if you want your business to survive out here. Finally came to Vinny's because I heard the linguine with white clam sauce was good. Ordered that dish and it was good. Husband ordered the Chicken Sorrentina which was also very good The only drawback was the clams oreganata. The clams were tiny and mostly comprised of breadcrumbs. This appetizer was $9.95 and only came with 7 tiny clams. Meanwhile, the linguine with white clam sauce had 7 clams in the shell but many more chopped clams in the dish for a price of $14.95. Good food gets a 4 star but the clam appetizer only gets a 1 star for the number of tiny clams served at the $9.95 price. My husband and I went to Vinny's for an early dinner on Valentine's Day. We got there about 5:30 and the place was packed, every table was full people coming to pick up their orders, delivery guys coming and going and the phone didn't stop ringing. We waited about a half hour for a table. The waitress came over to check in with us a few times which I thought very nice seeing how busy they were. I must say when we were seated the service was excellent and the food was delicious, we even ordered a pizza to go. When the bill came I was given a beautiful red rose for Valentine's Day. The chicken parm sandwich was so dry, barely any sauce and the chicken was dried out and was chicken strips. After such a long wait everything in our order was cold too. The seating area is like a pizza place, but what they serve is comparable to any of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. Our table had short ribs, rigatoni and broccoli rabe, calamari, chicken, and salads. Every one of the dishes was prepared and presented wonderfully. The staff was super busy that night, but took their time answering any questions we had regarding the menu offerings. It's a BYOB so budget friendly as well. The food is 5 stars.
