Delicious, very flavorful and full of textures! Great service, cozy atmosphere, indoor and outdoor dining available.

Strictly 5 for the salad pizza. I truly feel the salad pizza should be on best of New Jersey. I've had salad pizza other places and nothing comes close. I know what you're thinking..salad pizza? Nah. I'll stick to my meat lover or traditional fatty version. I thought the same thing. But once I tried it. Wow. Pizza dough topped with sweet sauce. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions and the best part ... red peppers. This is the finishing tough. The peppers are the perfect combo of sweet and sour. Don't go by the other reviews. When in doubt..order salad pizza. Just wish they delivered to summit. Have to drive 20 min each way to get my fix.

My family order a soda, ameatball parmesan, eggplant parmesan, and a Italian sub. First we didn't get the soda, we asked for no tomatoes on the sub. There were tomatoes, and the meatball and eggplant parmesan were burnt. We called the restaurant and the chef was extremely rude and dismissive. Never ordering from here again

Their pizza is delicious. The crust is thin and the sauce is zesty. The Margarita pizza is my lunch treat.

The ambiance was pleasant and there's an option to dine outdoors (not my preference, especially literally on the sidewalk). The service was wonderful, our server answered all of our questions, and made good suggestions. She was knowledgeable about the entire menu, which was great and useful. The food overall was mediocre. We began with Tomato Bruschetta as an appetizer and I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors. It was delicious! The bread itself stole the show! I would not have ordered it, so I'm glad that my friend did. We also add the fried calamari, which was excellent. It was crispy and nicely coated. The marinara sauce was watery and flavorless, further proving why I am not a fan of it. However, I did dip my calamari in the mango & sweet chili vinaigrette... AMAZING combo! Then there's the Giuseppe Pizza, good but not great. Again, the bread and crust were the major flavor points. Not over or under done, just right. The chicken and arugula on top, nice touch. Lastly, the mango salad and an addition of shrimp. Overall, everything was just okay. I would not be in a hurry to go back, but we enjoyed our time. Keep in mind, there's an additional charge if you pay with a card. That seems to be the ridiculous trend these days with restaurants everywhere.

I picked it knowing the solid rep of Jessica's Cafe in Plainfield, so I can't say I was stunned to find out this was awesome - but given the expectations coming in, this probably even slightly exceeded them. Pretty cool. This was literally my first time in Fanwood, unless you count taking the Raritan Valley Line through here to Hunterdon County back in the day (I don't think it counts). The weather was a little iffy throughout the day, which I'm assuming played a factor in the town feeling a little desolate when we showed up. It reminds me a lot of the Newport neighborhood in JC - super, super gentrified. Maybe it's just the section where Jessica's is though, right across the street from the train station. We parked over there, not entirely sure if that was naughty or not, but given our outdoor seating, we easily could have peeped a cop or tow truck driver before anything terrible happened (I think it was fine, given it was a Sunday night). All that to say though, I'm not entirely sure where the ideal parking is if it's not at the train station. We were only in the restaurant for a minute (enough time to ogle a fridge or freezer of tasty looking meat to the right of the entrance), so I can't speak to the spiffiness of the interior. Even though rain was a possibility, it seemed worth the risk to stay outside due to the temps and large umbrellas. No regrets in that regard. We were seated promptly and ordered shortly thereafter, while also receiving some decent bread and butter with a bit of olive oil drizzle. Quite tasty. Somehow it's become an informal tradition, but if it's on the menu we usually get the Grilled Octopus. One of the better ones we've had. Nice and crispy (texture to me is the key to this one) and seasoned well. The accompanying potatoes were a nice touch to the proceedings - would totally get this again. A lot of the other apps looked good too, but someone accidentally made me birthday weenies on the grill earlier, so I couldn't get QUITE as frisky as I normally would. Both of us gave the lamb a long, hard look (and my chum wondered aloud about the ribeye special for the rest of the evening - possibly the one that got away) but I ultimately went with my classic Short Ribs entree. Delicious. Tender, flavorful and the perfect serving size. I was a little nervous that a puree versus mashed would mean the potatoes were too wet or liquidy, but not the case at all - they maintained their relatively solid integrity as far as I was concerned. I forgot to take a picture of dessert, but I got the Creme Brule. Also excellent, and at the perfect temp. I think there may have been a birthday musical accompaniment with that, but it's all a blur. Arguably just as good if not better was the service. Our waiter was super personable and professional, stopping by regularly and just added a hospitable touch to the meal that brought this to the upper echelon for me. Service is king, and it matters - you can't take for granted the ability of your server to essentially riff for two minutes on their menu knowledge, as well as just good-natured banter. Had that in spades. Coming back for sure - Womb Exit Anniversary or not.

It is on the menu, but if you don't look, you may miss it. Just because of that, I will not return. In my honest opinion that's kind of weird that they only accept American Express. Yes they do have an ATM in their restaurant so you could withdraw cash but I didn't really wanna worry about ATM fees. Luckily a bank I use is close by so I was able to go withdraw cash from there. If I had realized this beforehand, I would have not dined in at this restaurant. Luckily, my sister had offered to run to the bank to withdraw the cash and I'm glad that our waiter was patient while we went to our bank to get cash. As for the food, it isn't worth the headache of having to get cash or worry if you have an American Express card. The Margherita pizza we ordered looked like a cheese pizza. I mean the cheese pizza was good but when I imagined a Margherita pizza, I had a different type of pizza in mind. Unless there are different versions of Margherita pizza. I ordered the antipasto salad which wasn't too bad. I enjoyed my salad for the most part. My sister got the Penne Alla Vodka and our friend got the Alfredo pasta. We all agreed that the food was average and the pricing is pretty reasonable. Overall, would I return? Probably not just because of the American Express and cash only payment option. It isn't really worth it in that case. But I will admit the service was awesome and the people were definitely friendly.

It had been one of the hottest days in the past decade and we noticed upon walking in that the AC might not have been functioning correctly. It was a bit uncomfortable. That should have been our sign. With the entire restaurant at 25 percent capacity, the hostess decided to seat us right next to another couple. I could touch their table. After we placed our order, complimentary bread was provided. It was fresh and devoured quickly. We began our meal with the fried calamari. It was very good and seasoned nicely. No need for additional salt or pepper. Cooked fresh. Our entrees consisted of chicken murphy and baked ziti with eggplant. My chicken murphy was excellent and the portion was very generous. However, my wife received baked ziti with sausage. Did she send it back? She tried multiple times. We could not find our waiter and I refused to have her get up and track him down. The waiter never came back for the obligatory "How is everything?" "Can I get you anything else?" So, she picked the sausage out of the dish and just ate the baked ziti. When the waiter came back to ask if we wanted dessert, we told him about the mistake. The waiter came back and said they took 10% off the check. So, keep in mind the restaurant is very warm and a film of sweat has already started early on after we sat down. Wrong dish, poor service, and warm restaurant. When the waiter brought over our credit card receipt, he also brought over another customer's receipt and gave us both. I walked to a couple of other tables asking if it was their receipt since our waiter had walked away already. There is ample parking on the street and a few public lots within walking distance to the restaurant. The prices are reasonable.
