From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such incredible warmth that extended throughout our entire stay. After giving us a tour of the home and property, both Todd and Angie happily shared local secrets of the best places to visit in and around the area. (Do not miss Raven's Nest on the Schoodic Peninsula!) The newly-renovated Victorian-style home is flawlessly appointed with antiques--each room embracing you with comfort and serenity. When we booked, the only room available was the smallest of the 7 rooms that has a private balcony that overlooked the front of the property, but it was very cozy and comfortable with plenty of room for my husband and me. A wood-burning fireplace is the centerpiece in the living room that welcomes you in the evening after a long day of sight-seeing. The view from the back of the house is simply spectacular! A rolling hill of grass leads to the shore of Frenchman's Bay, where you can sit in any one of the comfortable chairs, or a double swing under the porch, or on the private balcony if you are in one of the rooms that overlooks the back, and enjoy a glass of wine watching the sunset. Todd is a culinary master, lovingly preparing his signature breakfasts each morning. The next time we visit, we will be sure to try their home-cooked dinners...we didn't partake this visit but those who did raved about them!! We felt like we arrived as guests and left as friends! Thank you Todd and Angie!!

Unfortunately the grounds surrounding the property are covered in dog waste, and as a property claiming to be dog free this is disgusting. Definitely will look elsewhere for a vacation stay.

I ordered the filet, which was disappointingly fatty and gristly--so much so that I was unable to finish even half of the entrée. At this price point, one expects a cut of beef to be exceptional, and this simply was not. To the restaurant's credit, they did reduce the cost of my entrée, though I was surprised it was not fully comped given how inedible much of it was. On a positive note, the dessert was phenomenal and easily the highlight of the evening. Additionally, the others in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals, suggesting that the kitchen is capable of producing quality dishes. That said, with the total bill reaching $260 including tip for two people, value matters. Fine dining carries high expectations--not only for food quality but also for service recovery when something goes wrong. While there were certainly bright spots, the overall experience left me feeling that there are far better dining options in Downeast Maine where your money may be better spent. I will continue to recommend Chipper's in Hancock for those wanting a fine dining experience.

I had decided to check out the fall leaves (AKA leaf peeping, a term that will always make me giggle) in New England, and visiting Acadia National Park seemed like the perfect place to do it. I ended up booking this bed and breakfast fairly last minute, but I was luckily able to reserve a room. Sue and Eric are the owners, and they were both quite friendly! I mostly interacted with Sue, and she gave helpful recommendations of places to visit while I was in town. The room was comfortable and well-decorated, and the bed was cozy. The provided breakfast was excellent, and Sue accommodated me on my last day with an earlier mealtime due to the time of my departure. I was very happy with my stay, and I would reserve at this B & B again with no hesitation.

There is also a mini fridge completely filled with water bottles in case you get thirsty at night. We arrived late so we worked on a puzzle (which had been set up by the bedrooms) and went right to bed. In the morning Susan made us Chocolate Chip Waffles ( which were out of this world!), Yogurt with Fresh Granola, Sausage, Tea, Coffee, Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice!! So much food! We had to go early so we wouldn't get snowed in but I wish we could've stayed longer. They hugged us goodbye and we were on our way. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else next time. Their place is about 30 minutes outside of Bar Harbor & Acadia Park but completely worth the drive!
