I ordered the filet, which was disappointingly fatty and gristly--so much so that I was unable to finish even half of the entrée. At this price point, one expects a cut of beef to be exceptional, and this simply was not. To the restaurant's credit, they did reduce the cost of my entrée, though I was surprised it was not fully comped given how inedible much of it was. On a positive note, the dessert was phenomenal and easily the highlight of the evening. Additionally, the others in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals, suggesting that the kitchen is capable of producing quality dishes. That said, with the total bill reaching $260 including tip for two people, value matters. Fine dining carries high expectations--not only for food quality but also for service recovery when something goes wrong. While there were certainly bright spots, the overall experience left me feeling that there are far better dining options in Downeast Maine where your money may be better spent. I will continue to recommend Chipper's in Hancock for those wanting a fine dining experience.

I live in a city and contractors cannot start work until after 8 am. But that is not the case at Crocker House Country Inn. It is in a very rural area. My wife got diarrhea. We wonder if it was the well water at Crocker House. I drank bottled water and did not get sick.

These cabins and the lodges are adorable, comfortable, and simplistic to truly enjoy nature. We stopped in the main lodge once and loved seeing the inside. Our cabin was perfect for our honeymoon and busy days of hiking and exploring Acadia National Park. The smaller cabins have all you really need. The bed and sheets were insanely comfortable. The main window and the outdoor patio faced sunset so we enjoyed watching sunset each night and noticed several other cabins did too. There were 2 stools and a table with a coffee maker and mini fridge. The room came with a small space heater but it really did warm up the space if you're prone to getting cold. The bathroom and towels were perfect! The owners are so sweet in communicating over email leading up to our stay with any questions, and their texts with recommendations on hikes, parking, exploring, and restaurants truly helped shape our day! We would love to come back someday!!!

Unfortunately, everything else was a major disappointment. First, this is not a cabin that it's simply a motel-style room that only looks like a cabin from the outside. There isn't even a TV in the room. We also had no hot water for an entire day, which is completely unacceptable. The mattress was so lumpy and uncomfortable that I barely slept during our stay. Honestly, based on the condition of the room and everything we experienced, I believe we deserve a refund. The room was poorly maintained. The bathroom sink clogged almost immediately every time the water was running, making it frustrating to use. The shower was unbelievably small. If you're taller than about 5'5", you're going to have a difficult time fitting comfortably. There was barely enough room to move. The electrical outlets were so loose that my phone charger wouldn't stay plugged in overnight, leaving me with a dead phone the next morning. Even the entry door was badly scratched and looked like it had been damaged by a dog. The price is outrageous for what you actually receive. Be sure to read the fine print before booking. You're given the choice of either allowing a $500 hold on your credit card or paying an additional nonrefundable $35 per night. For that extra charge, all you get is Walmart Great Value coffee. For the amount this property charges, I expected a much higher standard of accommodations and service. If you're planning to visit Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park, be aware that this property is about an hour away, which is much farther than many people might assume when booking. Overall, aside from the beautiful view, this stay was absolutely not worth the money. Between the lack of hot water, uncomfortable mattress, clogged sink, tiny shower, maintenance issues, loose electrical outlets, unexpected extra fees, and distance from the main attractions, I would not stay here again or recommend it to others. This was one of the worst lodging experiences I've had, and I genuinely believe we should receive a refund because the accommodations were nowhere near worth what we paid.

I had decided to check out the fall leaves (AKA leaf peeping, a term that will always make me giggle) in New England, and visiting Acadia National Park seemed like the perfect place to do it. I ended up booking this bed and breakfast fairly last minute, but I was luckily able to reserve a room. Sue and Eric are the owners, and they were both quite friendly! I mostly interacted with Sue, and she gave helpful recommendations of places to visit while I was in town. The room was comfortable and well-decorated, and the bed was cozy. The provided breakfast was excellent, and Sue accommodated me on my last day with an earlier mealtime due to the time of my departure. I was very happy with my stay, and I would reserve at this B & B again with no hesitation.

There is also a mini fridge completely filled with water bottles in case you get thirsty at night. We arrived late so we worked on a puzzle (which had been set up by the bedrooms) and went right to bed. In the morning Susan made us Chocolate Chip Waffles ( which were out of this world!), Yogurt with Fresh Granola, Sausage, Tea, Coffee, Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice!! So much food! We had to go early so we wouldn't get snowed in but I wish we could've stayed longer. They hugged us goodbye and we were on our way. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else next time. Their place is about 30 minutes outside of Bar Harbor & Acadia Park but completely worth the drive!

The reviews are all great and that is for a reason. The place is awesome. The location is awesome. The hosts are awesome and last but not least, the breakfast is awesome. We even saw a bear while taking a hike in Acadia. Check this place out and you won't regret it. That is IF you get a reservation. Everyone wants to go here! We were informed once we got there that dogs were not allowed onto the hotel property and were not allowed to be left in the room. I understand their reasoning for not disturbing other guests but I would not hv booked this hotel if I had known in advance. It was an expensive cottage that really cramped our vacation.
