The inn itself is beautiful and majestic and pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful property with beautiful green lawn leading to Adirondack chairs overlooking the water. Stairs lead down to the water and you can walk the shore. The hosts, Matt and Kristi, outstanding!!! Matt checked us in and gave us the lay of the land and gave us some history. I would have loved the chance to talk with them more- but we were on the go. Breakfast the next morning was this amazing homemade bread with melted Gouda cheese and fresh tomatoes with eggs any style topping it off. Unbelievable. And it started with fresh watermelon and kiwi plate with a coconut lime drizzle. I did not want to leave. They also had out biscuits and snickerdoodle cookies for arrival or when getting home for the night.

There is a gravel lot for parking, which is convenient since most restaurants and experiences can be walked to in town, helping you avoid the fight for parking. We stayed in the Charter Suite - I only wish it had been cold enough for us to use the working fireplace. That would have added extra charm! Kristi met us as we checked in and provided a warm welcome, even a warm send off by providing us muffins to go for our early flight. My fiancée and I greatly enjoyed our stay and are hopeful to one day return to Bar Harbor and Saltair Inn.

Manor House Inn - Our room second night, a little awkward, but very cute!

First of all - service was great. We were getting in later than what we thought, around 9:30 or so, but that was no issue for them. They were there to meet us as soon as we got in! I was also able to buy a national park pass, forward it on to them to print for me so we could get hiking early in the morning! There were four of us in two separate rooms. Our first night both of us couples were in the Acadia Cottage. This was a cute cottage with I believe 4 rooms. Both of our rooms were very spacious! My only complaint with the room was that there was not enough lighting in the bathroom. There was only one small overhead light that did not provide enough light - especially in the shower area. I also appreciated that there was a small fridge in the common area of this house that could be shared among the 4 rooms in this building. Made it great for us since we like to fix our lunches when traveling! On the second night, one of us was in a garden cottage (on its own! very quiet and nice) and one of us was in the main house on the top floor. After getting to see and stay in different rooms, I would probably not stay in the main house again. It can get noisy with people coming and going at different hours to go on different tours. Also, the layout is not as spacious as the other rooms - some awkward layouts. Breakfast was lovely! They fixed a different meal each time. The only con, is if you do not like something, you will have to go somewhere else because not much else is offered other than the main fixing. For example, one morning was corn beef and hash. No thanks, so I ended up having oatmeal. Not much else for me. The only other thing I would suggest to the Inn is that they fix their ability to multi book a room. It was a pain to book. We booked the 4 last rooms on these two nights. Because we were changing rooms, I could not book different rooms all at once. I had to individually book every room. So it was a little time consuming and mundane. Would have been nice if I could have added all 4 rooms into a "cart" and then checked out. Definitely recommend this place, but if you are a light sleeper and want room, be careful on the room you pick to stay in.

Rooms were pristine, spacious, and charming. And the rest of the shared common space was elegantly decorated. Staff was awesome. Will be back.
