We were paired with two men, one of whom spent time on his phone while in the tee box. Despite this, course employees explicitly targeted US. They tracked us down after the very first hole and harassed us three separate times for supposedly being four minutes behind pace. Not a single warning was directed at the men. The staff prefer just to hound two female beginners. It is a blatant, sexist double standard. If you want to introduce your kids to golf, do not waste your money here. They made it entirely clear that newcomers and women are not welcome.

I did par a couple of the par threes and played mostly bogie golf so it was one of my better rounds. The carts were a bit old but they did have a gps which is helpful for yardage. Tee boxes were pretty beat up but greens and fairways were in great shape. I did lose a couple of balls in the long grass but it was very open and easy to see your shots and where you needed to hit. I gave a one star lower rating than I normally would because it was the slowest round I've played in years. Our threesome finished in just under 5 hours. That is just way too long to play 18 holes. We waited on every shot. The tee times were 9 min apart which is pretty typical so I don't know why it was so slow. Also take note this was a Monday afternoon. How a Monday afternoon tee time takes 5 hours is beyond me. We did use our MN PGA card and got a good rate, loved the course, but the time to play it may be a deterrent for future rounds.

Taken together, it's a great place for a round of golf. Rates are very reasonable here. The day we played here, there were not a lot players so it went pretty fast. It is smooshed in by the airport and the planes are NON-STOP, so if you're looking for something quite this is NOT the course. (I personally found it fun to watch planes take of and land all afternoon!) I believe they were having trouble keeping it open so they opened a disc golf course ON the golf course. Its a little confusing because the tee signs for both look the same but the numbers don't line up. There was no one playing disc golf while we were there so I'm not sure how well they work together - I'm sure it's fine as long as everyone is respectful!

The layout is a little odd so make sure you check out the map or use U Disc so you know where to go. Hole 1 is just south of the parking lot, then you have to walk back to Hole 2 before you head toward the playground for Hole 3. From there it is pretty easy to follow until Hole 10, which is just North of the parking lot. It's free and there are restrooms right by the parking lot, which is also where the map can be found. I'm glad I chose the forward tees because the course is narrow and I always seemed to end up in the sand. I thought it was a difficult round, with the back nine being tougher than the front. Greens and tee boxes were in ok shape. The practice putting green was rather beat up. I loved all the prairie flowers throughout the course. Very pretty. The tee boxes had little to no shade and the round was a bit slow so we were in the sun a lot waiting to tee off. I thought it was a nice course. I'd like to give it another try now that I know where I'm going. I lost quite a few balls.

I've been playing Chaska Town Course since it opened in the late 1990s (I play there about 4 times…read moreper year, on average). And I'm still not tired of this course -- at all. It's the best public course in the West Metro by a good margin. I think it competes well with Legends Golf Club in Prior Lake and Rush Creek in Maple Grove -- but both those two courses are ~ 50% more expensive than Chaska Town Course. Town Course has an excellent practice facility. The course itself is challenging and interesting. You have two fun driveable par 4's, a decent amount of water hazards, and a lot of natural beauty. Now that I think about it, nearly every hole is interesting. You have some great par 5's that really tempt you to get home in two shots, but they are well-protected by trees and water. The course is always kept in immaculate condition. They also do a good job enforcing pace of play -- I don't recall a round ever dragging on longer than 4.5 hours. The food in the clubhouse is good, too. Great patio overlooking the stunning 18th hole. They have a Weekday Special Rate for teeing off before 11 am on Mon - Thursday.

Got the winter "blahs" then try out the Braemer Golf Dome. I didn't even know that it's the largest…read moredome in the twin cities. They have about 50 hitting stations on 2 levels. I made a recent visit there with a few friends. Basically you buy a bucket of balls and GO!. The bottom level was busy when we got there (midday) so we took the stairs to the top level. My girlfriend (who's been a regular in the past) suggested a center spot for a prime location. They have 2 large bulls eye targets to hit at. There are also 2 "wannabe" greens on both sides with flags in each one. If you're looking for a little shorter hitting zone they have 2 smaller targets for chipping. We didn't try the putting green but it seemed crowded and doubt I would make a trip there just for that. A lot of artificial turf and plastic mats to hit from. Overall not a bad experience but felt it could use a little refurbishing in the inside. Prices seemed reasonable. $7.50 for a large bucket and $4.50 for a small one. I got the larger one which lasted me about 45 minutes. Certainly enough time for me to quickly reevaluate my "rusty" swing. They do offer group and private lessons for those who might want to "work" on their games.

Business has tripled over the last three years. Used to sell balls by the bucket, now they only rent out time. Kind of spendy but way nicer than doing this outside. Mats are in good shape, golf app works great and is pretty accurate. I now know each of my golf clubs' carry and total distance. Have short game targets as well as games and 'rounds' you can play. Putting areas are pushed into the corners and not much value. Wish they would expand their bar/seating area a bit, they could easily compete with the simulator bars.
