As usual the service was great. I only rent from Thrifty when I travel. In my opinion they have the best deals.

Check in was super quick. We were able to get an SUV at a lower cost than an economy rental. We checked in at the desk and then went to the outside kiosk to pick up the keys. It wasn't a far walk from there to the car. The car was clean and ran great. Drop off was super easy as well. I will use them again when going to MYR. read more

Generally things worked well. I had picked thrifty since I found that they have an option to check in online at the day of arrival, pick a car and then have the car key ready when you arrive Now - this didn't work (and the agent said this location does not do it - opposite to what I found online) Besides that, I found it VERY strange that the agent asked for my employer- never happened to me and when I asked why, he said he just know to be able to find me. (????? He had my driver's license and my credit card ???) The car was ok and the pickup and return process went smoothly and fast, luckily there wasn't many people in line as it was early October so not high season. I might rent from them again. read more

The process was very easy and the service agent was a nice guy. The price was decent. The only thing that was a bit concerning was that I was given a hybrid vehicle without being told and was not familiar with how they work. It was lovely but picking up at night and trying to figure out how the car worked was stressful. Also, the pickup point was a like a long walk and that was stressful being an older woman alone with a heavy bag. But all went well. I had a nice time. And the return was much better. I would rent with Thrifty again. I'll just know to ask a few more questions. After getting use to it, I do like the hybrid vehicles now. So don't change that. Lolzzz read more

Check-in was great. The gal was super friendly and personable. She even gave us some great restaurant recommendations in the area to grab some lunch. Car was nice and clean. Drop off was easy. The only feedback I have is that they were unable to print me a final receipt at the return/drop off area. I was told I needed to go back into the check-in area in order to get a printed copy. This entailed me waiting about 10-15 to get a printed copy. I've had issues in the past with companies charging a different amount than originally stated so I always like to get a copy right away versus waiting and then having to dispute anything at a later time. read more

Had a pre-reservation confirmed for 2:00, was in line at 3:50 waiting. Called up to counter at 4:01 and was advised that after a two hour window they reserve the right to cancel the prior existing reservation. I hear multiple other customer's reservations being told their pre-paid cars are unavailable and they are being waitlisted. At least 10+ people with prior reservations with over a one hour wait for a past reservation. Just don't use this place. It absolutely put a negative spin on my vacation before it even started that was irreversible. Never again. read more

(Building sits across from airport baggage area) No lines, courteous employees. I was greeted and assisted by Ashley. She was professional, kind, and detailed. She explained everything perfectly the first time around. My rental was super easy to locate. It was a pretty 2023 Malibu w low miles and still had the new car scent. Interior and exterior were spotless, and the gas tank was full. The car was a great smooth ride. It has every option except a sunroof which was fine. Very efficient on gas and a quiet ride. Returning the car was a breeze. I was in and out within 2 minutes. I received my receipt by email within hours. Roadside assistance was added to the contract I booked thru Expedia. When I called to say I was overcharged, was told it is added to all contracts no booked thru AAA. You have to tell them you don't want it, they don't ask. Now about experience outside overcharge Got there and 2 people were in line, they were both at the counter almost immediately, so I was next in line. Still took over 30 minutes to get a car. My experience was horrible from beginning to end and then some. I would not recommend using them. Arrived at scheduled pick up time to find out they had no cars available and I would have to wait 30 minutes for a car to be cleaned and serviced. There were others who were also told to wait. One customer was treated extremely rudely. After waiting we received the car only to find a clump of hair in the backseat door handle and sand on the seats. The car did not have a full tank. I did not report the gas tank not being full and should have. Returned the car and checked my credit card. There were multiple additional charges without any explanation. In total there was approximately $350 in additional charges. Currently waiting to hear back from customer service regarding the charges but will likely have to dispute them through my credit card. I have been using Thrifty for years to whenever coming into Myrtle Beach International airport. Apparently there was an issue with booking online, so I called the actually location in MB and was told they had availability and to call the reservation telephone number. I called and was told there were no available vehicles. Called the location back and now they are saying if the agent is saying they are booked they are booked when I literally talked to the lady 5 mins ago. The lady was just rude with no type of customer service what so ever. If her tone was better when communicating. I would not have an issue with what was told to me. read more

when we arrived at the airport after a long flight a few of the other rental places were packed with people who did not have reservation. Thrifty on the other hand only had a few customer. it was because they were completely sold out from all online booking. Us included! we were very happy not to wait and it only took a few minutes then off we went to the lot, grabbed our vehicle and left. the price was cheaper than a few others we checked out. the rental was great. This was my second time using Thrifty Car Rental and they get five stars from me each time. The counter person is very efficient and helpful. There were no issues whatsoever. He explained everything and I was literally in and out within ten minutes. The car was great and returning it was super quick, too. We live in Philly and renting a car here in the city is sheer hell. Poor customer service after I was overcharged for return fuel. I was penalized $35 after I returned the car on full, but they said they needed to put 4 gallons in to make full! I was told by the attendant upon return that the tank was full. I would have been happy to pay for the 4 gallons, but why penalize me when I explained what happened? I received one short email explaining that the car had not been returned full, they did not address any of my explanation or the fact that their employee told me the tank was full. Thrifty had the best price, which other customers found as well as evidenced by it being the only rental desk with a line. Consequently there was a wait at pick-up, so if one is under a tight schedule a higher price elsewhere might be best. But it worked for us. The car vehicle was clean, and the drop-off smooth. The only complaint is if you want to use a debit card, then they have to go through a bunch of unnecessary steps to approve your payment which sounded so ridiculous but if you use a credit card..., quick and easy.
