MARK, the employee I dealt with, called 45 minutes before our scheduled pickup to inform us that our vehicle wouldn't be ready for two hours past our contracted time. When we asked if there was a vehicle available at another location, his "solution" was to send us to the airport branch, which was 10 miles farther and would have cost us $175 more... a price increase for their mistake. When we reminded him that this was not what we agreed to, he refused to help, wouldn't connect us with anyone who could, and made it abundantly clear that keeping a customer satisfied simply wasn't a priority. MARK's attitude was dismissive, unhelpful, and downright unprofessional. He showed no accountability for the company's failure to honor a confirmed reservation. In a business where reliability and customer service are everything, this experience with MARK was a total embarrassment. If you value your time, money, or sanity, take your business elsewhere. When I arrived I was told they didn't have a vehicle for me because they were out of cars, but there appeared to be plenty of vehicles parked in front of their office. and they would call if a vehicle becomes available. I was also told the vehicles go to customers who book first for that day, which I never heard heard of that before. Anyways, I called their 800 number and the agent told me there was vehicles available at the Peoria Ave location so I took a Lyft to that location only to be told that location only rents to people who are sent by the insurance companies. I tried calling that store before going over to the Peoria location but nobody there answers the phone. So, I figure I'd trust the customer service agent and go down there. Of course, it was a wasted trip and money going out there. I ended up spending nearly 70.00 using Lyft service going to these locations and back to downtown. Needless to say it was a stressful morning. Thank you Hertz for the memorable experience.
