I was introduced to the artist, Tippo, who I later learned is the renowned "Tatman Tippo." He is a Miami legend and has quickly built a great reputation in Virginia! We immediately hit it off and after discussing the tattoo I wanted, we agreed on a price and set an appointment for the next day. The session itself was outstanding. Tippo had refined the artwork and prepared several sizes for me to choose from. The tattoo took about four hours, and he was a true professional throughout the process--putting down smooth, clean lines and being a great conversationalist. It was an excellent experience from start to finish. If you are in the Portsmouth area and looking for high-quality work, I can't recommend Tatman Tippo and Blue Horseshoe Tattoo enough. The other artist was tattooing a young man who had his dad accompanying him. The dad could have been a motivational speaker as he was SO LOUD, and barely came up to take a breath.
