Coach Kurt has been awesome! He's consistently supportive, accommodates any challenges I face, and encouraging when I make progress. The improvements that I've experienced throughout the course of a year has been substantial. I've also enjoyed participating in a few of the combat sessions. While coordination, especially in the boxing segments, isn't my strong suit, I genuinely appreciate Coach Gail's patience and the time she takes to offer guidance and corrections. It makes a big difference and does not go unnoticed.

On 9/5/2026, Katleyn reached out to me regarding a free week of workout classes, and I was specifically told that the week would be free of charge. I showed up for my class at 5:00 AM on 9/7/2026, only to be told that I would be charged because the promotion on the free week of workout classes had supposedly ended on 8/31/2026. After my workout, I spoke with Kristen, who told me that she would refund the charge and still honor the free week that I had originally been offered. Later, at 10:27 AM, Kristen called me and told me that they could no longer issue the refund. After going back and forth about the situation, Amy, the owner, got on the phone. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Amy yelled at me over the phone and repeatedly told me that no refund would be issued. What was most upsetting was a comment Amy made to me: "You don't go to Lululemon and negotiate prices. This isn't Tijuana." That comment was completely inappropriate, racist and discriminatory. There was absolutely no reason to bring Tijuana or ethnicity into a conversation about a gym promotion and a refund. Amy, here is some advice: 1)Never yell at a customer. It is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially coming from the owner of a business. 2)Keep racist or discriminatory comments out of customer interactions. There is simply no place for comments like that. 3)Make sure your employees have accurate information about promotions before contacting customers. I was contacted about a free week, showed up expecting the offer to be honored, and then received completely different information from different employees. I truly would not have written this review if the situation had simply been about a misunderstanding regarding a promotion. Mistakes happen. What made this situation much more serious was the way I was treated and, most importantly, the inappropriate comment made by the owner. Very disappointed with the way this was handled

Things didn't get off to the best start. The website said the first visit was free, but when I arrived, I was told I didn't qualify because my driver's license was still tied to Los Angeles. I had just moved to Palm Desert and hadn't updated it yet. I let it go because I was planning to sign up anyway. I joined during a promotion and was told my membership would be $23/month with a one-time $1 enrollment fee. I noticed the contract also mentioned $50, so I asked about it. The employee told me it didn't apply to me because I was signing up under the promotion. Two weeks later, I was charged $73. When I asked about it, I was told it was the annual maintenance fee. So there are actually are three different charges: the monthly fee, the annual fee, and the enrollment fee. I wasn't upset about the fee itself - I was disappointed because it hadn't been explained correctly. I continued going mainly to the Palm Desert location for the next two years. The biggest issue is how crowded it gets. Finding parking is almost always difficult, especially in the morning and during the day, and you'll probably end up waiting for several machines. Another downside is that equipment breaks fairly often, and some machines stay out of service for weeks or even months before they're repaired. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and they've recently added new equipment, which is nice to see. More recently, my membership went from $23 to $25 per month. It's not not a huge increase, but it was disappointing because I was originally told my promotional rate would stay the same. In the end, the biggest reason I'm leaving is simply that it's become too crowded for me to get a good workout during the hours I can go. One more thing to be aware of: when you cancel, you'll still be charged for one more month because they require 30 days' notice. I wish that had been made clearer from the beginning. I'm grateful to the staff and appreciate the past two years, but it's time for me to find a gym that better fits my schedule and needs.
