After two years of working out here, I've unfortunately decided to cancel my membership. I figured I'd share my experience in case it's helpful to someone else. Things didn't get off to the best start. The website said the first visit was free, but when I arrived, I was told I didn't qualify because my driver's license was still tied to Los Angeles. I had just moved to Palm Desert and hadn't updated it yet. I let it go because I was planning to sign up anyway. I joined during a promotion and was told my membership would be $23/month with a one-time $1 enrollment fee. I noticed the contract also mentioned $50, so I asked about it. The employee told me it didn't apply to me because I was signing up under the promotion. Two weeks later, I was charged $73. When I asked about it, I was told it was the annual maintenance fee. So there are actually are three different charges: the monthly fee, the annual fee, and the enrollment fee. I wasn't upset about the fee itself - I was disappointed because it hadn't been explained correctly. I continued going mainly to the Palm Desert location for the next two years. The biggest issue is how crowded it gets. Finding parking is almost always difficult, especially in the morning and during the day, and you'll probably end up waiting for several machines. Another downside is that equipment breaks fairly often, and some machines stay out of service for weeks or even months before they're repaired. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and they've recently added new equipment, which is nice to see. More recently, my membership went from $23 to $25 per month. It's not not a huge increase, but it was disappointing because I was originally told my promotional rate would stay the same. In the end, the biggest reason I'm leaving is simply that it's become too crowded for me to get a good workout during the hours I can go. One more thing to be aware of: when you cancel, you'll still be charged for one more month because they require 30 days' notice. I wish that had been made clearer from the beginning. I'm grateful to the staff and appreciate the past two years, but it's time for me to find a gym that better fits my schedule and needs. read more

Had a great experience at EOS Fitness in Palm Desert! The gym has a great atmosphere, plenty of equipment, and a welcoming environment. Mariah was especially helpful and friendly--she made the experience even better and was always professional and easy to talk to. You can tell she genuinely cares about the members and wants everyone to have a good experience. I've been a member at EōS and pay extra for a membership that includes a guest pass. My girlfriend also has her own separate membership. Today she came with me, and I wanted to use my guest pass for her. The front desk told us that because she already has her own membership, she wasn't allowed to be my guest. That makes absolutely no sense. A guest pass should be for any guest I choose to bring, especially when I'm paying extra for that benefit. Whether someone has their own membership or not shouldn't matter if I'm using the guest privilege that comes with my plan. Policies like this just make the membership feel unnecessarily restrictive. If I'm paying for a guest pass, I should be able to use it for whoever I want. read more

The General Manager reached out, listened to my concerns, and worked to make the situation right. Not too impressed with this EOS location. Their equipment is a lot older and the gym itself is very small compared to other EOS Fitness that I have been to. Hubby and I were here Thanksgiving morning and it was quite crowded. It did it's job for a quick workout session. Stay away from this place like the plague if you don't want their sales team (Hi Carlos) calling you and harassing you every day. I don't even have a membership here yet, and this sales dude repeatedly called me FIVE TIMES after I declined the call initially. When I told him I did not appreciate the constant communication, he continued to harass me until I flat out said I absolutely did not want a membership here. I had been interested in joining this gym, but if this is how they treat its prospective customers - i.e., harassing them before 9am - then I can't even IMAGINE how bad it must be for people who enter into an actual agreement with them. I have a VIP Black membership that specifically allows me to bring a guest, yet my brother was denied entry because they claimed he already has a membership. That makes no sense. The staff won't enforce the contract. People sit on a machine playing with their phone, that is restricted under the contract yet, staff won't do a thing. Same with people tying up multiple machines or free weights. The staff is friendly but even told me they won't enforce the rules. Why have them? Yes the facility is kept up and new equipment. I recently applied online for EOS's free 7-day pass while visiting Palm Desert for work. I received immediate confirmation and follow-up calls encouraging me to come in for a tour. But when I arrived, the General Manager, Gabriel Alejos, denied my pass, claiming I wasn't eligible because I had toured the gym with my husband nearly 10 years ago. I've never worked out there, never received a pass, and only wanted the promised tour. Worse, I was later told by another EOS rep that I refused to sign a waiver (which never happened), then given a new excuse that I didn't have a California license--also false. I was never asked for ID. What happened at the Palm Desert location was disappointing and reflects poor management and a lack of alignment with EOS's values. Corporate should take a closer look. I got a EOS probably four or five times a week. I stayed pretty much in my space because I like to hang on the bars and hang upside down, etc. today I was there to lean my thing and a guy came up to punch on the bag. Of course the bags going all over the place. He's dancing all around the bag and he's inches from me. I asked him if he could wait till I was done and he said no you need to move somewhere else or I need to join a private gym. I decided to go get the young man at the front desk. He came over. let me know it was shared space and that I needed to deal with it and then told the other kid to stay in his space, why do they have a punching bag right in the middle of the bars where everybody goes to stretch hang do pull-ups, etc. and when someone's boxing, none of that can be done? read more

Finished workout. interested in a protein shake. go to the counter and wait about a minute, a guy emerges from the back. looks at me, looks around, doesn't say a word. i'm looking around too trying to figure this out. guy looks at me and still doesn't say anything and starts to wipe down some equipment. finally i ask if he works there, he says yes, he owns the place. then asks if i want something and i just tell him no, forget it. wtf? dude owns the place and doesn't have common courtesy to greet people or ask if they need help or god forbid, want to buy something? first impressions. taking my business elsewhere, a few stores down there is a great tea place that has protein shakes. she also said hi to me and was friendly. read more

Parking: This location shares parking with nearby businesses. The parking lot at rush hour is completely full and you will have to wait to find a parking spot. 1 star. Employees: The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The sales staff were okay. Would not grant me a trial pass, even though one of my houses I own is nearby, but since I have an out of state DL. I even offered to show them the deed to my houses, but they're said no. 2 stars. Workout: In my life I've never been to a gym this crowded. You will have to wait in line for machines. The free-weights are all over the place and not returned to their racks. Lots of good equipment, but it's all being used and you lose your pump before another machine opens up. 1 stars. Conclusion: I would recommend going elsewhere. This gym is too crowded and messy. ZERO STARS! This company and the people who I've interacted who work for EOS have no integrity and poor business standards. It's very rare I leave a bad review, but consumers beware. I was thinking about joining so I filled out a form online on the company website and shortly after, my email was inundated with tons and tons of deals to join, I also received NUMEROUS calls and voicemails from associates trying to get me in to the gym. I finally decided to go in and join because I had an offer for $1 enrollment and $9.99 a month. When I went in to sign up, Jaylin helped me. Before I left, I specifically asked what my next charge was going to be. I was told $9.99 Fast forward a month, it's time for my monthly fee. It was not $9.99 but $59.98. (I had already paid the yearly fee $59.99 the previous month when I signed up)I called to try and rectify it on the phone, but I ultimately had to go in person and speak to Jaylin again. In our convo she admitted to "possibly pushing the wrong button". She texted her district manager to see what she should do. At this point, I'm pretty over it and ready to cancel and just call my bank. She told me it may take a while for the DM to get back to me because he's busy. I said just cancel my account. She gets up and goes away for 60 seconds and magically appears saying she heard back from the district manager and they're going to issue a credit to my gym account. I was ok with that. I'm told by Jaylin that she'll call me later that day or the next day. Well surprise, no call either day. That Friday later in the afternoon I called and wanted to speak to Kishan the GM of the Palm Desert location. I'm told he's at lunch , he'll he back no later than 30 minutes. When I called back I then was told "he left for an emergency". I spoke to someone named Brie at the gym location who gave me a BS reason as to why I didn't get the $1 deal. I've emailed the company on their website, and I also wrote to Leneta, the District Operations Manager who generically responds to all the negative Yelp reviews to "get in contact with her so she can learn more about your experience", but of course, never heard back from her either. It's all a joke! They clearly just want your money and that's it. I was stupid and didn't read reviews prior to signing up, but if you do, you'll see many reviews are similar to mine. Why can't people and corporations just be honest and have integrity????? Do yourself a favor and do not join here. They WILL scam money from you. read more

Had a horrible experience trying to bring a guest for a workout. I am currently a member who pays extra to be able to go to any EOS gym and bring a guest. Apparently, you can only bring nonmembers as guests. If they are currently a member of a single location, they are not considered guests for other locations. I was never told this when I purchased my current plan and the customer service to accommodate was horrible. read more
