Normally, I go here because their nails last a lot longer than most places. Today, I wasn't happy with the service. I went here to get two pedicures for my niece and myself and they half assed the pedicures. Told me to sit and never came and checked on my toes. My sister in law got her nails done, and the lady cut my sister in law's nail and blamed it on my niece because my niece was talking to her?! Like really?! And they didn't have a powder color that she wanted, so they took off $5 but when I saw her nails I wasn't impressed. But idk if I go back I won't be seeing that lady. read more

Had a great experience. Good prices and had several staff available. Minimal wait time. Their massage of my legs and feet was not exactly relaxing. A little to much pressure and not evenly timed (more time on my right leg and foot compared to my left leg and foot). Message chairs are nice. They had 8 pedicure stations and similar nail stations with two or three people in each area to cover services. Will keep going back! read more

I really love Thumbs up! I have been going to thumbs up for a little over three years now. I never have to wait no more then ten minutes and it takes a while to pick a color anyways! Thumbs up staff are all very sweet and take their time when working with you. Their salon is very clean and have awesome massage chairs. What I love most is how relaxing their spa pedicures are and the wax, omg! My favorite! Can't beat the price for a pedicure either! This evening is what prompted me to get on here and write this review. I called at about 6:45pm this evening and the owner answered. I asked if they were busy and he replied no and I said well do you have time for a pedicure, he said sure come on down! I said well if you guys are trying to get home I can wait till morning, he said nah come we will get them done! Sure enough I got there at 7pm and had a gel manicure done and out by 7:30pm. This worked perfect for me since I'm home with the kids and can't sneak away much! I usually go here. I'm really sick of the hit or miss service and outcome. Two times ago, friendly staff and great nails. This most recent time, definitely not friendly and my poor fingers! Too ROUGH. Sore spots on the side of my fingers and filed my actual nail, it hurt. Absolutely ridiculous. I am so disappointed. My nails still look great but the pain made it hard to focus on the bright side. So I have to say sadly, will not be coming here anymore. read more

I can't say enough, thank you for excellent work with warm customer service. This time I asked for and received a french schellac manicure, short and squared corners for sporty spring look. In and out quick as a button, though I waited about 10 minutes to get started. With no appointment- another reason why Thumbs Up is the best in town. read more

Best nail salon in MAC hands down and a great value! Very clean, large screen TVs and awesome pedicure massage chairs. Get the thumbs up pedicure, they massage your legs/feet for a minimum of thirty minutes in addition to all the awesome scrubs and mask they do on your legs. Okay. First off, let me say the reviews here on Yelp were really misleading. If that's the best nail salon here in Mac then I'm tempted not to try any other. My girlfriends and I headed out today with a mani/pedi spa day in mind. Its our first official "Girls Day" ever, and it should've been kind of special and fun. Instead when we arrived, we were told that there wasn't enough space or both mani and pedi, even though pedicure chairs were open and some women were standing around. Its obvious that they are under-staffed. So, me and the girls decided to stick with manicures. They sat us down and a woman walked over and started helping me while the man behind the counter did another's nails. The other two girls had to sit and wait there awkwardly. The man didn't even do a good job in the end, and he made my friend bleed. I'm glad we didn't go with pedicures. Once we sat down, I became acutely aware of how rundown the place was. The tabletops were disgusting and the one I was at looked like it had been burned or was molding. From where I was sitting, the pedicure chairs didn't even look clean. And I noticed that they just sprayed Lysol in the tubs to clean them. Lysol. The prices were cheap, which was good. I guess for the price we got the manicures, they were just okay. Even though my manicure is ALREADY chipping (I got the manicure an hour ago). The people weren't very friendly and there was an obvious language barrier, which I can't fault them for entirely. Although... the woman I had spoke in a whisper and then when I couldn't understand her because she was talking too quietly, she got frustrated, got up, and left. She never came back. Over all, I say if you just need a quick manicure that doesn't need to look nice, then go for it. I know I'm not going back ever. I'd rather pay extra for a great manicure with great service and facilities than pay semi-cheap for a so-so manicure with rundown facilities. read more

Not the same place as two years ago! It's been a while since I've gone into Thumbs Up. Decided to go for a Pedicure. The place use to be VERY clean, but more disorganized now. The pedicure started off well, staff were so rough on my feet that caused a significant skin tear on the bottom of my foot. Walked out with painful feet. Too rough. Rushed service. DONT GO HERE! Most expensive and worst pedicure I've ever gotten. In town visiting family and I would be sure to never go back. She pulled and tugged my feet around rather than asking. She would slap my leg if she needed it moved. I got shellac and I think a 5 year old could have kept the Polish off my skin better. When I asked her to fix it she looked at my like I was stupid and got up and walked away and disappeared in the back for the rest of the time I was there. read more

I go here to get my nails done and for pedicures every other month. They do the best gel nails I have ever had done. I have never had a nail break and they have tons of different choices available. The prices are pretty average for a nail salon. I had to wait once for my appointment because they were so crowded and they upgraded my pedicure for free. I'd been here in the past and it had been okay, I was happy to go back. This time was a different story. For a pedicure, I'm used to my feet coming out better than they went in. I received very little scrubbing, no trimming, and minimal filing. My leg massage was really just rubbing lotion into my legs. The polish either didn't cover the nail or was all over the cuticles. When my pedicure was "complete", I was left on my own to figure out when I thought my nails were dry. I get they're busy, but they completely miss the mark on customer service. Love this place..always a good mani/pedi..they are fast..and clean..my ONLY complaint today..it smelled like cigarette smoke toward the back, and they sat me in the last pedi chair..I mentioned to the girl that it smelled like someone was smoking in the back, but i don't think she understood me, even with all my "sign" language (holding my nose, miming a cigarette in my hand, going to my mouth 'smoking' it, etc) i wonder if anyone else has had this experience..if it happens again i will talk to the owner instead...otherwise...good place! I had an appointment scheduled in advance. I waited 15 minutes, then was told to sit in the chair while the nail tech (the owner's wife) then proceeded to finish another customer that she appeared to be perhaps halfway done with. I waited another 5 minutes and then left. I had scheduled the appointment during my lunch break and wasted 20 minutes waiting. In addition, the way it was handled was extremely unprofessional. She was very apathetic, only said a light "sorry" as I left and it was very obvious she took a walk in appointment and expected me to wait. what ever you do, do not go there. I had eyelash extensions done. they don't do them correct. they use unclean tools and they glued the plastic eyelashes to my eyelids. I had to end up getting them removed by another salon that actually knew what they where doing. I ended up going to the doctors twice because of chemical burns to my eyes. read more

They make that classic mistake of putting paint on too thick and too fast. It bubbles and never properly sets. Your mani/pedi is ruined by the next day when all the polish underneath finally dries. read more

its not the same without Ryan and I think Tao is leaving too. He used to do my nail. He listened to you or at least try his best to do something that I wanted. Now, they have all new staffs. Tao was busy so the last few times the guy in there did my nails and I wasn't happy at all. he was on his phone basically the whole time with me. He was loud and speaking in his language. My nails came out OK, not as good as it used to be. If it's ok then I could go to any place in town. I have been here maybe more than 3 years. I don't think there was a time that I was not happy. I am kind of upset that this was a good place to go get my nail done in Mac, I don't think it is anymore. kind of miss getting my nails done by Ryan and Tao. and I'm sorry to give one star to a place I used to like a lot =( read more

I used to come here a lot with friends. Now, I think they have new owner and they're not that impress. Got a old guy kind of rude did my nail and a different guy did my feet. I normally don't write reviews for anything but I do not recommend this shop at all, I have been a huge fan of thumbs up until now, I got there at 5:45 and was not attend till 6:10. (I had called to say I was coming and made sure it was ok) the man messed up on one nail completely and he had to take it off ripping part of my nail off with it! Then before he even finished my nails he left to go finish a pedicure ( it was pretty busy and they had an appointment so I understood) but then a lady came to finish my nails and did such a crappy job it was so rushed and unflattering, I understand it was busy and she had other people to attend to but she gave me the most mediocre nails in this world!!!
