There was so much that we had to save some for meal #2 the next day. What we ordered: Risotto Al Funghi Fusilli Al Salmone Focaccia Ratings Menu & Tasting 5/5 4.5/5 RISOTTO AL FUNGHI - $15.95 I've always been a huge fan of mushroom risotto and this definitely hit the spot! I wish there was a stronger funghi flavour, however this was a great dish overall! FUSILLI AL SALMONE - $16.95 I love smoked salmon and this was actually my first time having so many slices of it on top of a plate of pasta. It came with a vodka tomato cream sauce and I actually wished it was a bit stronger. This was super filling and satisfied our stomachs. 3.5 this time. Went again on Sunday eve with a short notice reservation. There were a few tables occupied and a few pick up orders while we were there. The focaccia this time was not great. It was dry and hard which is very upsetting as I raved about it to all my friends. I ordered the risotto primavera which let me down a bit. It was flavourful and had nice veggies but I could tell it was not the long simmer process of making risotto. The server confirmed that the rice is made in part in advance and then finished off as what the customer ordered....makes sense as they have many risotto options and they were able to ensure mine was vegan. It was basically like a primavera pasta but with rice instead. I may stick with Thai next time. My hubby and son had the vodka pasta but hubby had salmon on his. Both of them thoroughly enjoyed their meals and could barely finish them. Their portions are very generous! Hubby started with the salad that had the berries and a balsamic dressing. It was ahhhmazing! We shared it and totally loved it....the dressing was so good. Both guys ordered dessert to go as they were too full to eat it on the spot. read more

The complimentary warm focaccia bread is so delish. It's so soft and fluffy and when soaked in the olive oil and vinegar, it literally just melts in your mouth. I don't like to waste stomach space on bread, but this was just so good. I ordered the lasagna with meat sauce. The sauce was super cheesy and creamy. While this was good, I still would have liked the tomato flavour to come through more, like a traditional lasagna. I actually preferred my boyfriend's chicken parm dish than my lasagna. His pasta was really good and had tons of flavour. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a nice thick layer of melted mozzarella. My lasagna ended up tasting better the next day as leftovers. In regards to service while we dined in, our server was very prompt and friendly. Really can't complain about anything there. read more

What an amazing dining experience. So glad we found this spot randomly and decided to try it. Party of two, we wanted to have a nice Italian dinner and decided to try this spot when we found it on our way. It's located in a small plaza and is kind of unassuming. We didn't have reservations and were there Friday night at 845. We were seated within 5-10 mins. Our waiter was Randy and he is wonderful. Very friendly, very caring and totally made us feel special. He is such a funny and amazing guy. For our appetizer, we had the caprese salad. So fresh and delicious.The table also received fresh and delicious focaccia bread. So soft and fluffy! For our mains, I ordered the penne arrabitatta and my fiancé had the trout which was on special that day. OMG! The trout was heavenly! For the side, we had a choice of pasta and we were in between the rosé and the olive oil sauce. Randy the amazing waiter was kind enough to get us both! The trout was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The accompanying cilantro lime lemon sauce was heavenly!! I even tried some of that with my arrabitata and it was perfect! My Arrabiata was also so tasty, with perfect combination of herbs and spices. They actually serve a sprig of thyme with your pasta that you can add fresh, and it is amazing!! We each had our wines and oh so tasty! For dessert, we split the tiramisu, a moist and delicious cake dipped in amaretto and espresso. Everything about this dinner was fantastic. My fiancé has not stopped talking about the trout. The place also has a wine sommelier, who was introduced to us by Randy. This tucked in Italian restaurant in Port Credit certainly doesn't get enough attention. Perhaps because from the outside it looks completely the opposite of Italian, in my opinion. For a year I drove by this place and thought it was a cafè. Their wine menu is pretty slack considering it's the nectar of the Italian Gods but their vast food menu makes up for it. They can make pretty much any pasta you can conjure up. The food is really tasty and most times the chef will come out with the food and explain with pride what he has created for you, which I respect. The prices are totally reasonable. You wit break the bank here. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the large chunks of red onion in my Spaghetti Giardinere still had the skin on them.. Kind of a turn off. But that's pretty minor, you should absolutely still give this place a try!! read more

Many pasta options, as well as a surprising Thai section. Additionally, there were 4 or 5 specials of the day. * The service from Randy, the very well known server, was exceptional. Truly a different kind of service. However, sometimes it is way more than you need. There is a balance. * The basket of focaccia = yum! * Desserts were delicious. My only negatives were: * The "world famous salad" wasn't that great. Not too sure what is famous about it. * Was hoping for a larger portion of pasta. Though, overall, a very delicious meal. We thought we would try delivery of the menu products that we normally enjoy at Thyme, and were bitterly disappointed. The order was placed at 5:30 for delivery at 7:30, lots of time. The delivery was made after 8 pm, more than 30 minutes late, even though we live only 5 minutes away. The entire meal, seafood risotto, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and veal parmigiana, was barely warm, pasta lumped together, risotto a soggy mess. We have dined at the restaurant many times, and will never order take out again. I will post this to see if the management responds to our very disappointing experience. I've frequented this restaurant between 2011-2012 so I'm basing it on the 3 times I've been there I haven't been there this year....yet. I usually only go out to this restaurant when I'm out in Mississauga visiting with my aunt and uncle (who first put me onto this place). They themselves have been going here for years, so I'm also surprised that there are not many great and objective reviews of this place. First impressions this place is very laid back in its design think little Italy meets sopranos, its a little cluttered with decorations as some have said but thats part of the charm. This is no pretentious Italian restaurant, this is more like an Italian family eatery kind of place. If Randy (the comical waiter) is still there, ask for him cause he is amazing guy and quite a sideshow himself, a real people person that will put a smile on your face by the end of night. It was dinner time so I had the Fusilli al Salmon, but I'm not a big marinara guy which was what the dish had. So I asked if it be possible to switch the sauce for a white wine pesto like one of the other dishes, they didn't bat an eye and said sure no problem. I find a lot of pseudo "Italian" places the marinara has too much acidity, its like they don't know how to cook it or use the correct ingredients. And I didn't want to bother with an acidic pasta dish tonight...and plus didn't expect much from this place upon first impressions. I'm a lover of Italian food although I'm Asian, hey both cultures know their noodles/pasta. Anyways first time I'm trying this and it was the best bowl of pesto Fusilli i've ever had....hands down. Without blowing my own horn (but will =D ) I think I have a very good sense for taste and smell...partly why I like eating a lot lol. This pesto wasn't some canned or add water sauce plus people who do shoddy cooking don't make something this pure tasting. When you eat something memorable it sticks in your mind, and to some you can almost taste it. This was something memorable and why I came back twice more in the following year....and Mississauga is out of my way so I don't frequent it as much. The second time i dined there again with my aunt and uncle we met the owner cause I just had to give my complements to the chef after my meal who was the owner as well. Guess what the owner is Thai guy (looks in his 40s)...and I was like you make these Italian dishes? He was like yeah, I've been around to many Italian restaurants and he said he could do a lot better than most of them out there so he opened this place. No kidding. I said do you know how tough it is to find a good Italian restaurant that makes good honest Italian dishes that don't break the bank. The third time was no different I was impressed with this restaurant. I've been to joints like Grazie on Yonge & Eg , this place runs circles around that joint that supposedly makes homemade pasta. Granted I haven't been to other higher end Italian restaurants like Teroni or such, but having a neighborhood eatery where you can go and enjoy an Italian meal without breaking the bank on any day of the week is special. And you'll enjoy it too, which is the most important part. Just like a lot of the small successful hipster joints (some I've reviewed) there is a reason a medium sized restaurant like this in a strip plaza has lasted so long without going out of business. Good food, good service, great price and from that a loyal customer base. So you know what forget these people that complain about the restaurants they've tried, people like to hear themselves complain all the time. Don't take my word for it either, make your own decision and try it out. Cause like any business maybe they have a backup chef in training or someone is sick or they didn't get the best ingredients that week. This place is fast becoming my Port Credit stand-by. Excellent food, and the kitchen seems to be able to accommodate your every whim. The menu includes a large selection of Thai food (I guess just in case you're not in the mood for Italian food at an Italian restaurant?!). Super friendly and engaged staff will have you leaving with warm fuzzy feelings. It's like one of those Olive Garden commercials but with real humans! Slightly cheesy but passable decor, but let's not forget that we're talking about an independent restaurant in suburban strip mall here. We have been coming here for over 14 years. Consistently good Italian food at a fair price. The owners, Peter and Cindy, are still very much hands on and ensure that their customers are well taken care of. Saw reviews regarding one of the servers, Randy. He is definitely one of the best things about this place. Whether you are new to the restaurant or a long time customer, he goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. This is my all time fav place for organic and delicious fresh food. We order their pizza and/or Pad Thai for delivery at least once a week. We've gone and sat the restaurant a few times and would recommend the mushroom risotto, their signature salad with the goat cheese, their pizzas, and their pad thai. SO GOOD. read more

Recently found this little gem on Lakeshore. Enjoyed friendly service and delicious food. Had the bruschetta with cheese, gnocchi bolognese (rich meat sauce with soft, pillowy bites of gnocchi), deluxe pizza (the crust is so good and they don't hold back on the toppings) and tiramisu (the server told us it's homemade down to the freshly ground beans for espresso). Couldn't finish it all and my mouth is watering just thinking about finishing the leftovers tomorrow. Will most definitely return, perhaps to try the eclectic and unexpected option of Thai food. read more

I came here with my partner for a celebratory dinner, about a year ago, and we were thoroughly disappointed with the food and the expensive price. The service was decent, nothing to rave about. On the menu, there's a lot of Italian food, but also some Thai dishes?!?! We found that a bit odd but we looked past it and ordered Italian. I ordered a lasagna and my partner ordered a pasta dish. My lasagna tasted like a frozen microwave dinner nuked to all hell, but the middle was still a bit cold! And then they poured a ton of salt on it for 'flavour'. My partner's pasta was bland and the sauce tasted worse than store bought ragu. We were thinking of ordering wine with the dinner, but glad we didn't because $50 later and a bad taste in our mouths (figuratively and literally), we couldn't get out of there fast enough. I really wanted to like Thyme. It's a 10 minute walk from our house, and looks very cute from the outside what with it's hanging flowers, painted windows, and bunches of grapes hanging from the eaves. Alas, it was not to be. We walked in early on a Friday evening, and were greeted by a very friendly hostess. The restaurant straddles two units in a typical strip mall. The first one had open windows, and a walk-out to a small patio. It was nice and breezy, The hostess asked us if we had a reservation, and we said no (reservation? it was 6:00pm in Mississauga), and were shown into the other unit, which was a good bit smaller and a whole lot more stuffy. Anyway, we sat at the table and had a look around. The decorator had the best of intentions - nice, neutral, faux-finished walls with the occasional painting or piece of sculpture, but the whole place felt cluttered. Table dressings weren't clean. My wife and I split a seafood soup, caprese salad, and lobster ravioli. The seafood soup was lame, the caprese salad had lettuce on it and the ravioli was awful. It came straight from a Costco package, and was rich and goopy. Long story short, stay away. read more

Had a horrible experience with this place today. I made the reservation online yesterday during my lunch period at work for 7pm for 2 people before Valentine's Day. I got an email from the place saying that someone will call me to confirm my reservation. So today as it is Valentine's Day, I received no call from this place, so I decided to call them before 7pm to make sure my table was confirmed and I was told that my table was not confirmed. I don't like to leave negative reviews or complain about restaurants but this experience needs to be shared. I visited a few months ago after reading the great reviews. It was a spur of the moment thing with my gf and as such, I was a bit under dressed for the place (wearing a black & white hoodie). We got the seafood soup it was amazing. For entree I ordered the special, a seafood pasta. It was pretty good, then about half way through I discovered a restaurant mint (half dissolved) in my cream sauce. I didn't even believe what it was until I cleaned it off and could tell for sure. I immediately informed the waiter and he was also appalled and took the dish away. I was then not spoken to for 10 minutes while I watched my gf enjoy her meal. About 10-12 minutes later the owner approached and after introducing himself, his first words were "we don't have these types of mints here." I couldn't believe this was the reaction and I replied "ok....." as to wonder what exactly was he suggesting. Also before he came I heard very clearly the discussion in the kitchen one chef saying "great way to get a free meal drop a mint on your plate". So after staring blankly at the owner as he was basically accusing me of dropping a mint in my own food, he so graciously offered to comp the saliva mint tainted dish and offer a free dessert. To add I was still quite starving as my dinner was shockingly Interrupted half-way through. I wasn't even offered a new plate or to order something else (Not that I would have at this point) Wow. FINALLY, somewhere good to eat in Port Credit where the food, the staff and the ambiance make for a truly great night out. Our group had an appetizer of grilled goat cheese served on bed a wild greens along with raspberries, blueberries, pecans, orange slices and a complex balsamic vinaigrette. We then had various main meals, such as the grilled lamb chops in a red wine reduction, lasagna, a fish special with grouper, and others. Everyone was enchanted with the meal. The service was attentive, the staff really knows what they're serving. The desserts sounded exquisite, but everyone was too full to get to that stage. I made reservations on a Saturday for 2 at 7:30pm for my Girlfriends birthday. We arrived there and were greeted by the hostess and were seated. Our server had come to the table at a timely fashion. we ordered a bottle of wine and a few minutes later we ordered our meals. The servers name was Chase, had brought us our bottle of wine and some bread. My girlfriend and I were there for an hour, we thought our food would of been out by now. An hour is more than reasonable time for 2 pasta entrees to come out . We than asked Chase how much longer and she said very soon. Half an hour goes by. Still no meal! A party of 9 with reservation came in and they had ordered. ALL there Appetizers came out before our meal. at this point we were fed up. We than asked for a manager. There was no manager on duty. So Chase gave us number to he restaurant and gave us the owners name which was Peter. We called the day after. Peter had a family emergency and was suppose to be back Tuesday. Okay fine. So I call Thursday and left a message again for Peter. Two weeks later and I still have not received a call. I left two messages. As a owner I would call my guests in a timely fashion. I will NEVER go back there! I used too by GC's for family and friends for that place. Its a shame that they lost this business. read more

We really wanted some solid Italian food and this place didn't deliver. We ordered the gorgonzola gnocchi and lasagna. The gnocchi were SO salty that I literally got heart palpitations after a few bites. Seriously it was hardly edible. I wiped each gnocchi on the side of my plate before putting it in my mouth. The lasagna was bland. It tasted like the microwave lasagna I used to buy as a student. I guess there was some meat in it, but it was pretty insignificant and tasteless. We got some bread, which was welcome as the wait for the food was longer than usual, but it was sort of pastry-like. I know we should have complained, but seriously, even if they offered bringing us something else, it would have been a long wait as it took forever just to get the orders taken etc. The prices on the menu are slightly higher than shown on the website, and the Thai options (which aren't on their website at all) are quite random. The food is great, the servers are amazingly friendly and informative - they know be wine menu from top to bottom, same with the food menu. The price range for dinner is between $13-25 per person. Came here for my birthday with friends and family. The atmosphere is elegant and romantic. The food is authentic and tastes very good, I would recommend the mussel appetizer and goat cheese fruit salad. Their focaccia bread is amazing and you can get has much as you want! The waiters were very attentive and made it an effort to start conversations. We got to meet the owners who were very nice and showed us the best eats on the menu. Will be coming back! read more

There was a group of 9 and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. They did nice extras for me as the birthday girl too. :) The appetizers came out quick but the entrees do take a while. BUT they do tell you in advance that each dish is hand made. The sauce on the Fusilli Vodka certainly tasted handmade and it was delicious. I will order it again. I had been craving pizza all day and was hoping to get some great tasting pizza; I ordered the Pizza Margherita and found it extremely sweet. I was disappointed to find one of my favourite pizzas ruined as if the crust was loaded with sugar and made from a pizza pocket recipe. It made me feel bloated and gassy after one slice of pizza and I couldn't even enjoy the gnocchi I bought. I do not recommend eating here at all. read more
