I came here with friends to watch Rayuela Hacia EL Mas Alla. It was all in Spanish, but for those like me that only have 2 years of high school Spanish, there were subtitles projected on the top of the stage. The play was a dark comedy with a little bit of everything. It had humor, drama, terror, a love story and a "non-hollywood ending." Going in with an open mind and not knowing what the play was about, I was blown away. Parts of the play made me think of Guillermo Del Toros Pans Labyrinth and Kurt Vonnegut from my AP English class in high school. With its morbid beauty and dystopian setting. It amazed me how such a large story could be played out on such a small stage with just a few actors through the use of lighting, minimal props, and and the expression of those actors. Kudos to Laura Santa Cruz and Manuel Chitay for a wonderful performance. It was very creative how they used the same projector to animate the clocks and show the passage of time. As well as (not to give anything away) execute certain scenes. This play is very unique in the sense that every few weeks they change the ending and have a different actress. Which not only brings a different take on the story but keeps you coming back for more.

It was my first time here and I was so happy to not just support a small theater but a Latino one. My experience on arrival was not the greatest. The entrance is not really an entrance like normal theaters and had very limited seating to wait. They didn't have check-in prepared and the restroom were would I would say back of house restrooms that I was able to use not aware if they had others. It took a while to finally be checked in. Small theater but only one person worked the check in and concessions so it took us a while to get it. Not the friendliest of staff in my experience. The most exciting part was of course the actual play. So happy to witness a full cast of Latino actors who wrote and started in this show. Wonderful to hear so many voices and stories from my culture. Happy to support. Although i didnt have the best experience i would gladly return to support my fellow latino artists.

If you are a Disney fan, the El Capitan Theatre is an absolute must-visit!…read more Beyond being one of the most beautiful movie palaces in Los Angeles, the El Capitan has an incredible history. Originally opening in 1926 as Hollywood's largest legitimate theater, it has hosted everything from Broadway productions to iconic film premieres, including Citizen Kane. After a meticulous restoration led by The Walt Disney Company, the theater reopened in 1991 and has since become Disney's flagship theater on Hollywood Boulevard. Today, it serves as Disney's home for world premieres, special events, live stage shows, and screenings of both new releases and beloved classics. The theater's stunning architecture and historic significance even earned it Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument status. I have seen countless Disney films here over the years and every visit feels special. The atmosphere, the themed displays, and the beautifully restored interior make it feel much more memorable than a typical movie theater outing. Another bonus is the convenient parking. You can park directly across the street at Ovation Hollywood and with validation from the theater, parking is just $3 for up to four hours. Whether you are a Disney enthusiast, a movie lover, or simply appreciate Hollywood history, the El Capitan Theatre is a true Los Angeles gem and well worth a visit.

This is a not for profit and it has professional actors, kids and armatures. It is small and there is not a bad seat in the house. Most of the staff are volunteers so be nice. You can order from their website. It has a great selection of plays, from kids plays (called the YES program) to musicals and some very serious plays. We have been so many times and have never seen a bad play and if you have a kid, it is a must you take them there. The prices are so fair and they a little snack bar inside. There is nothing not to like about this theater. It has nice places to eat nearby and it is a great area.

We reserved theatre for our concert a year in advance. They kept refusing to send us contact (like previous years), probably waiting for some bigger renter to offer them something more. 3 DAYS BEFORE OUR RENTAL THEY CANCELLED ON US! We had to find a new theater, change program, rearrange performances, reprint all tickets/booklets,posters, tell 40 families to change time and location of the event. This was the most stressful experience ever. It's too bad. We were ready to rent their theater every year. And we have rented twice before, having same problem- no contract till last minute! Bill(William) is not responsive. You will call, text, email and have no response. If you're up to get your hair turn grey while dealing with them, go for it.
