I ordered the Gen. Tso's chicken combination meal. On the menu it said it was $11.99. The person who took my order on the phone told me it comes with rice and an egg roll. They told me the price on the phone that it was over $15. When I picked it up and got home the receipt said they charged me for the rice and the egg roll. They shouldn't charge for the sides in a combination meal. The amount of chicken they gave was also small and they charge more than other Chinese food places. It didn't taste like Gen. Tso's chicken and it was mushy.

In search for local goodies continues: decided to try this Latin infused Chinese restaurant. ESP after seeing the had a " ropa vieja" sushi roll. Which is basically a Spanish style stewed beef. Well that was short lived bc upon calling to place the order I was told "we don't have sushi" then told " the sushi guy is off today " haha this was disappointing like just one sushi chef ... in any case still proceeded to order Wonton soup: 0/10 way to thick and large, was not appealing at all. Hot sour soup: 0/10 the oddest taste, broth was way to thick as well. This was sad as this is one of my favorite soups and this has to be the worst tasting one to date. Hubby also disliked. Singapore noodles w/shrimp: 6/10 noodles were a lil to hard still. And it was missing some savor ( flavor) I did enjoy them after pouring some of what I believed was a cilantro still sauce that came with the order. That helped with flavor. Kung Pao rice: 6/10 ehhh I don't know how I feel about this one. It was mixed with chicken breast, pork , ham and some sausage. The sausage was very sweet , and the chicken breast slices were so dry. The combination of the meat was not for me. I removed all the sausage and added some pure sesame oil and I was able to enjoy. While the food wasn't horrible, there was nothing memorable sadly. The idea sounds phenomenal, maybe a new chef with some more creativity would do the trick ! For me it's a one and done The quest continues to find local gems..

I ordered the Steamed Dumplings and spring Rolls. Their food was good. The man who took our order was friendly, and brought the order fast. There was no one in there but me and my mom. I guess it was too early in the day for most people. They were nicely decorated.

First this is a Chinese Latin fusion. Crazy good. I had peking duck for $20. Absolutely what I expected. Very good!!! Plenty of room for large lunch parties. Service was great. My Peking duck actually came out with all other ordered items. Usually somewhere else you have to order ahead.

I stopped in to Nan King to pick up takeout for my kids. The restaurant is new, vibrant, and has a fun energy. The restaurant seemed to be full, and we were greeted promptly. There was no hesitation when I requested extra fortune cookies for my kids. We tried the shrimp with mixed vegetables, which came with a side of white rice, chicken lo mein, with no veggies, and the shrimp lo mein. The shrimp with mixed vegetables was delicious, the sauce was perfect, and the shrimp were a good size. The shrimp lo mein was delicious and saucy packed with veggies. The chicken lo mein was okay, but a little dry. I will definitely be going back to try the other seafood items.

The food was AMAZING! I am not sure about the few 1 star reviews of this place, but I would humbly ask that you Ignore them and try it for yourself once and then DO put in an honest review. The service was super-fast and the food came in in under 10 minutes that my brother and I were skeptical that this would taste good just because it looked so appetizing. We were surprised that it was tasted so delish and I'm so glad to say I will definitely be back and this will now be a recurring spot for me. The Ambiance is nice for its style of restaurants and I can bring my wife and my family over here for a good sit down meal. The Beef was tender and flavored perfectly, frankly I was expecting it to be chewy. The Thai Basil Chicken was very fragrant and flavorful too. Please do order the Crab Rangoon, they were spot on. We ordered a little hot oil on the side because we kinda like the extra heat and it worked like a charm. Overall, a hidden gem that one should not miss, because you'll never know what you're missing out on. Bon Appetit!

Wonderful meal for our first time at this restaurant! Chaufa, Lo mein, chicken Chicharrón w/ tostones & dumplings. And I loved the green sauce (Aji verde) on the side. Very tasty!

So a couple things. A restaurants "specialty" needs to be good if not among their signature dishes. This said I ordered the Chicharron Chicken marked as a specialty and was disappointed (see picture) you figure if it is a specialty costing $20 w/ tax you would get more than a couple dried sliced breast pieces and unremarkable bottled sauces dips. Nothing special here just overpriced below average chicken. Will not order here again assuming this is their so called "specialty". Service would be ok and ambiance would be ok ... but please for a specialty let the top dollar match commensurate with good food.

The food is northern Thai, authentic and owner-cooked by chef Jack. The Som Tam Thai was exceptional -- fresh, crunchy papaya, perfectly balanced tamarind, and just enough sauce to carry the flavor without softening the salad. One of the best I've had outside Thailand. One other note--they were able to make it peanut free! The drunken noodles were rich and well-rounded. They dialed back the spice for my husband without losing any of the dish's character, not something other restaurants in the area have done well. The creamy tom yum hot pot was my highlight. Silky-tender velvet beef, bright sourness, and a chili tray to push the heat on your own terms. I like the heat so ordered medium spice and even added a bit. Don't skip dessert. Their mango sticky rice adds ube to the rice to give beautiful color and a subtle earthiness that plays perfectly against the mango's sweetness. This is the kind of place that earns regulars! Highly recommend.

The food is fantastic, and the variety on the menu is impressive. The chef clearly knows what they're doing because every single dish we tried was genuinely delicious. It's the kind of spot where you can't go wrong: date night, dinner with friends, or anything in between. We brought our own bottle and had a great time. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The staff even joked around with me when I forgot my to‑go bag, and yes, I absolutely took it home because the food is that good. I also appreciate that they don't act like offering takeout is beneath them; even the takeout bag was nice. I honestly wish my meals were this good every night. The food, ambiance…read moreand service has always been outstanding, so it was very disappointing that last night missed the mark, significantly. Upon arrival at 6:30, Matt was seating a party outside and he told us to go inside. He followed us in. But instead of taking us to our table as he usually does, he told us we had the five top in the room on the right which he pointed to as he walked into the kitchen. OK, so maybe he was busy. No big deal. Place was about half full when we arrived. Almost immediately after we sat down, a waitress (new to us) arrived and handed us menus as she very quickly read the menu additions to us. I told her we were in no rush and I asked her to open some bottles we had brought. I also asked for an ice bucket. She noticed the bubbles and inquired if it was a special occasion. We told her it was my daughter's birthday. She came back just a few minutes later with water and she asked if we were ready to order. I told her we needed more time and that we were in no hurry. I asked her to slowly reread the menu additions. As we were perusing the menu, engaged in lively banter and enjoying the bubbles, I realized she did not bring the ice bucket. I looked around for her for a few minutes, then, when I could not locate her, I caught a different waitress's (new to us too) eye and she promptly came over and brought an ice bucket. A few minutes later, a staffer brought a bread basket. Usually there is a diverse selection of various very tasty breads. Today it was mostly plain old "Italian bread". Like the kind you might get when you order a dinner at a pizzeria. Nothing close to the quality and flavors we have consistently had in the past. For appetizers, we decided on the burrata, the octopus and the crocchette. We ordered all larger portions which we planned to share. As we have dined here on several occasions in the past, it was disappointing to see small portions, especially the burrata and crocchette. While tasty, the portions didnt seem to be any larger than the small size my wife and I usually get. Additionally, in the past, the octopus salad had plenty of tentacles, which our serving did not. It was rather bland as well. Since taking our order, we had not seen the waitress. Apps were brought out by Luca and other kitchen help. At this point, empty bread basket, empty champagne bottles and some empty water glasses had been on the table for quite some time, but the waitress failed to remove any of it. I asked for more water which she brought but again failed to clear the table. By this time, we were done with the appetizers, but instead of clearing, she brought one of the entrees. The eggplant. A short time later, another server came and cleared the table while we waited for the remaining entrees. 12 minutes later, the rest of the entrees arrived. While I suggested to my guest that he start without us, he refused figuring it would not be long before the remaining entrees arrived. When they finally did, his was cold. Other than the cold eggplant, the other entrees were tasty. Given the poor service, we decided to go home for dessert. Insult to injury... when I got the bill, I noticed they had added a 20% gratuity (not to mentioned the $12 "Service Fee" for using a credit card. A discussion for another time). I firmly believe that gratuities are totally up to the customer. I tip well in excess of 20% when service is good. Last night's service was horrible. "Taking" my money was not right. It's not even the money, per se. It's the fact that a restaurant would make MY gratuity decision for me. Not cool. Perhaps just as important, it also influences the servers. If they know they are getting 20% from my table regardless of their level of service, they might give more attention to other tables where the gratuity IS under the control of the customer. I cant say that is what happened, but it is plausible. We hardly saw our server which is a very different experience than we normally have become accustom to. On the way out, I spoke with Matt and Luca to let them know of my disappointment. Lots of apologies. Then Matt told me, "It (the tip) is automatic". A customer was getting ill, so Matt left the conversation to assist to the customer. I left feeling like they didnt care. My wife said, "Maybe we have to rethink that place". Indeed, but perhaps Matt and Luca need to rethink some things.
