Atlantic Salmon & Fresh Baked Bread
    Marie L.

Ambiance and decor: stale, outdated and desperately clinging to the past while hoping guests and tourists appreciate it. Food: excellent quality, good portions and delicious cocktails. We ordered the Atlantic Salmon, which was cooked perfectly and topped with a sweet ice wine glaze. It complimented the fish so well and the vegetables alongside were great too. The drunken seafood pasta was incredible too! The sauce was so tasty, we loved sopping it up with the rosemary focaccia appetizer bread. Both seafood dishes are a must-try if you're coming to Tiara's. Service: honestly, it pretty basic for a "high-end dining experience"... Our waiter was friendly and polite, but service overall was slow. We waited awhile after sitting to order our drinks, and then once they arrived the waiter just started walking away. We had to stop him and ask if we could place our dinner order now. We made a reservation here specifically to celebrate our wedding and honeymoon, which the restaurant was aware of, but barely acknowledged. When we arrived, there were many open tables by the window overlooking the water, but they seated us on the top dining level without a window-view. We were pretty disappointed to be facing a wall during our celebration dinner, especially when guests who arrived after us and without reservations were seated at window tables instead. Our server gave us two glasses of champagne on the house to toast with after we had already paid and were getting up to leave. It felt like an afterthought, especially compared to how other restaurants in the area treated us for dinner reservations as soon as we arrived.

Was staying at the hotel for a work conference. The restaurant has excellent ambiance, table looking over the river was very nice. The bread was very fresh and very good. I ordered the Herb gnocchi with Duck Ragout.. it was outstanding. The service was excellent, Rudy was very friendly and informative.

We come to Tiara restaurant annually for the Sunday brunch. This is third consecutive year we have been here. I've got to say that other than the omelette station the buffet was pretty depressing. How do you have a brunch buffet with no toast, croissants or breads etc. ? They had these giant dinner roll type breads....so odd ? The service was good as usual. Wish they would incorporate some cool things like avocado toast or French toast or more egg dishes.

I s stayed at Queens Landing this past weekend and had such a lovely time. As a treat my husband and I dined at Tiara's. It was adequately decadent in light of this long winter. I had the mussels as an appetizer which was served in a blue cheese cream broth. My husband had the sirloin and I had the salmon for my main course. The salmon was sautéed in an ice wine. The salmon was subtly sweet. My husband ate his entire steak, considering he doesn't have a huge appetite that was a very good sign. The portions were not overwhelming and the ambiance was delightful particularly in light of the most recent lockdown. I ended our dinner with the peanut butter bar. Rich, decadent and chocolaty. A delightful treat. I complemented my meal with Tom Gore's cab sauv. I realize I should have been working with whites however it was the sommelier's choice so how could I refuse. Service was good but it was ultimately the overall experience that left it's mark on me.

We came here on Sunday Oct.13 Thanksgiving dinner see menu attached. The food was delicious and very well presented. However, our server (Kevin) was not very attentive. He never refilled our water glasses nor did he come by after we got the main course to ask if everything was in order. He took away the sorbet before we were done. While we enjoyed our meal. The service wasn't stellar nor polished. Probably won't be returning.

Had an awesome dinner and the service was great! The foie gras was really good, I'd definitely order this again when we come back!

We visited for the first time in March due to a deal they had with the hotel for a great March Escape. A 3 course dinner for 2 was included in our overall hotel rate. The service was top notch and staff were attentive. We had 2 servings of the complimentary bread and particularly enjoyed the herb butter option. A balsamic and hummus were the other selections. For my main course, I had the Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon Herb Roasted Finger Potatoes, Crustacean Brodo. It was delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of vegetables but with how it was served (butter perhaps?) I ate it all. We had a lovely dessert as well and the staff put "Congratulations" on our plate as we were celebrating a special occasion. I can imagine it would be quite nice in the summer with the water views, sunny skies, and chance to sit outside.

Nice Restaurant (with capital "R")! Really good for an anniversary, birthday or any kind of occasion. We've spent two and a half hours with our baby-boy and everything went just fine. Probably the service is not on the same level as the whole place, we've been there among 3 other couples and we had to wait to make an order for 20 minutes, however, it's definitely not the place to spend 15 minutes to eat a burger. Recommending to couples for a romantic dinner.

We eventually found it. Upon arrival, the door swung open and struck a seated guest -- a sign of just how small the space is. The restaurant was full except for one four-top (clearly ours), and we stood awkwardly in the entrance -- which is essentially inside the dining room -- waiting to be acknowledged. When greeted, we were asked if we had a reservation. We said yes. "Table for eight?" we were asked, which felt impossible given the size of the room. We clarified four, and were pointed to the only open table. No name was requested; we realistically could have just walked in and taken it. The space is starkly lit with aggressive bright white lighting that feels more clinical than cozy. The artwork is interesting and gives a gallery-like feel -- it seems the restaurant is aiming for a downtown Toronto wine bar aesthetic, but it doesn't quite land. Our table was missing water glasses, and the stemware was mismatched -- not in an intentional, charming way, but more in a "we ran out" way. Once seated, we weren't acknowledged or offered water for nearly 20 minutes. Not rushing guests is one thing; leaving them feeling forgotten is another. When our server finally arrived, the service set the tone for the evening. One glass of water was poured before he realized another was missing. He disappeared, returned with a glass, inspected it mid-pour, then walked away again (dirty glass). After several more trips and long gaps, everyone eventually received water -- about 15 minutes later. He was polite and friendly, just clearly untrained. He shared that the owner is also the sommelier, cook, and server, and that he liked working there because he wasn't expected to know much about wine -- an interesting admission for a wine bar. The owner greeted us warmly but asked only one guest about wine preferences -- ironically the only non-wine drinker at the table. The concept appeared to be sommelier-led, though this was never explained. If that is the intention, engaging the entire table is essential. That said, the wines themselves were enjoyable; the service surrounding them was not. The Taste of Oakville menu promised three curated 3-oz pours paired with a charcuterie board for two. The pours arrived unevenly and slowly, with little explanation of the pairings. The charcuterie boards were plain and inconsistent between tables despite containing similar items -- basic fruit, crostini, simple cured meats, small portions of brie, and two slices of truffle cheese. No crackers, spreads, or thoughtful touches elevated the experience, and presentation varied noticeably. Our second wine pour didn't arrive until our mains, and service moved so slowly we requested a wine list to order a bottle. We were told there is no wine list -- "we're not that kind of restaurant." Instead, all reds are $80 and all whites $70, and the owner selects the bottle for you after asking only red or white. The concept might work if explained upfront; without context, it was confusing. At one point, noticing my empty glass, our server poured me a random red -- which turned out to be the same wine as our first pour -- and then left without serving anyone else. We had to remind staff we were still waiting for our second curated pour. Nothing about the experience felt curated. The most surprising moment of the night came when our mains arrived. As we lifted our appetizer plates -- still holding olive pits, fruit rinds, and crumbs -- the servers told us not to worry about clearing them and proceeded to place our main dishes directly on top of the used plates. I'm still shocked. I wouldn't do that at home, let alone expect it at a Lakeshore, or quite frankly, any restaurant. Two of us ordered the tagliatelle, which was tasty but contained only two small pieces of short rib -- and was difficult to enjoy while staring at discarded rinds beneath the plate. The other two ordered brisket sliders: two sliders, no sides. They tasted good but left diners hungry. One guest joked they kept thinking the fruit rinds were fries -- unfortunately accurate. We tried to make the best of the evening, but it never delivered the cozy wine-and-charcuterie experience we had anticipated -- dim lighting, thoughtful pairings, something special. After finishing our meal, we requested our bills and reminded staff we were still waiting for the third curated pour. We were told "five minutes." Those five minutes never came. Eventually, wanting simply to leave, we paid a single combined bill and sorted it out ourselves. Dinner for four totaled $460. This was not the boutique Lakeshore dining experience we expected, and ultimately, it was deeply disappointing.

Yogurt drizzled throughout lends gentle tang and creaminess, while pomegranate seeds punctuate each bite with bursts of tart sweetness. Tamarind-date drizzle and coriander chutney tie everything together into an addictive interplay of sweet, sour, earthy, herbaceous, and savory notes. The Crudo contrasts the former with mellow acidity, mint, dill and fish roe to elevate the thinly sliced snapper, and if looks can kill, they can certainly enamorate. The highlight was the Roast Chicken though, remaining juicy and tender throughout. Coated in a fragrant, earthy spice blend that upgrades rather than masks the chicken's natural umami. The apple slaw on the side adds a refreshing dimension, but I would've preferred more acidity among the mix of apples, onion, tomato, cucumber and cilantro. However, the accompanying sauce redeemed the dish, enriched with chicken drippings, yogurt and spices that's reminiscent of a lighter, savory butter chicken gravy. Finally, the short ribs are braised until the meat slips freely off the bone, deeply aromatic and laden with fat that easily melts on the palate. Its mild seasoning forces focus onto the meat, with some vegetable components bulking out the broth underneath. So if next time something's bugging you, come to Ladybug to relax.
