We decided to take advantage of a gift card we had and come for Sunday brunch on a long weekend.....bad mistake. It took over 2.5 hours to get there due to heavy traffic. Our reservation was for 1 pm but I called twice saying we would be delayed. We arrived at 2:15pm and they were so kind. They seated us at a lovely table by the window looking out at the boats. They told us to take our time and enjoy the food and they never rushed us. There were several vegan gluten free salads and vegetables and vegetable rice for me, along with fruits and 3 desserts that I could have (including vegan salted caramel chocolate truffles). There were lots of meat/seafood dishes, cheeses, cold cuts, breads, omelette station, waffles and bread pudding and several other pastries too. Hubby had a great selection! Juice, tea, coffee were included and hubby said the coffee was excellent. 90% of the food is local farm to table and the freshness could be tasted. Hubby loved the salmon but found the sausage dry. I had guests from the USA that I took for brunch at Tiara (Queen's Landing restaurant). Upon arrival, the manager/Mètre D was at his podium with his head down looking at a tablet. We stood for a minute or 2 but he never lifted his head or greeted us. I finally announced that we were here for our reservation. The room set-up was beautiful, and overlooked the marina. The tables were all draped in white linen cloths....at first glance, lovely. When we were sat at the table they brought over silver pitchers of water and filled our glasses, leaving the pitcher on the table, fine, however the pitcher was tarnished and full of marks and finger prints. I also noticed the same was true when she arrived with the creamer. I am fine with stainless steal, but if you choose to try to impress your guests with silver, then make sure that it is cleaned and polished. Silver that is used regularly only takes a minute to polish. As for the food; 2 guests ordered a la carte, and 2 ordered the buffet. My understanding is that the a la carte food was excellent. I however, had the buffet....which was not. Walking into the buffet room, the set-up was again, lovely, with a good selection. The cold and room temperature food was fine, the hot food was less than acceptable. It was cold, and dry (9:45am). When our bill came, I presented the server with a gift certificate. I had pre-purchased it on line since I knew that my guests would try to pay the bill, and this was assurance that they could not. We don't know what the server did but she pushed a wrong key and the transaction was cancelled. from that point on, my gift certificate read "balance zero" (although I bought it specifically for this use). She got another server to help, then she brought in the manager, then we had to go upstairs to the reception clerk, then back down to the restaurant again. After 35 minutes of trying to process the bill, we walked out. Sorry for the long winded review, but no, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

We came here for breakfast and sat on the patio. It had a very nice atmosphere with lush flowers and beautiful views. We saw hummingbirds and butterflies while we ate. The bees were a bit annoying but what do you expect with so many flowers. Service was good and the food was tasty. We skipped the buffet and my wife had the French toast (which was okay) and I had the Canadian. Bacon was too crispy, sausage was very good but the standout was the potatoes. We ordered the Atlantic Salmon, which was cooked perfectly and topped with a sweet ice wine glaze. It complimented the fish so well and the vegetables alongside were great too. The drunken seafood pasta was incredible too! The sauce was so tasty, we loved sopping it up with the rosemary focaccia appetizer bread. Both seafood dishes are a must-try if you're coming to Tiara's. Service: honestly, it pretty basic for a "high-end dining experience"... Our waiter was friendly and polite, but service overall was slow. We waited awhile after sitting to order our drinks, and then once they arrived the waiter just started walking away. We had to stop him and ask if we could place our dinner order now. We made a reservation here specifically to celebrate our wedding and honeymoon, which the restaurant was aware of, but barely acknowledged. When we arrived, there were many open tables by the window overlooking the water, but they seated us on the top dining level without a window-view. We were pretty disappointed to be facing a wall during our celebration dinner, especially when guests who arrived after us and without reservations were seated at window tables instead. Our server gave us two glasses of champagne on the house to toast with after we had already paid and were getting up to leave. The most impeccable service and the finest cuisine I have had in years! I can't express how impressed my husband and I were with our dining experience at Tiara. My husband had the beef tartare and filet mignon, I had the seafood melange and the lamb. All of our dishes came out beautifully plated and perfectly seasoned. Our server, Kevin, was the epitome of hospitality; charming and attended to our table in a timely manner. We were sitting on a bench watching the sunset over Lake Ontario and began chatting with locals. They highly recommended Tiara Restaurant. We were not dissatisfied nor disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious. The truffle fries with aioli dip are a MUST. The outdoor patio overlooks the sailboats; beautiful view customer service was great. We were at the restaurant because several people in our group were staying there for a wedding, the ambience was quite nice, my grandmother would probably love it. The drinks were fine , the food is seriously overpriced and you get an appetizer sized portion for dinner.The game hen is not a hen but two small pieces of the hen with one piece of broccolini , for 49.They had two small pieces of pickerel for 49, lamb 61 also tiny. There was mostly nothing else on the plate but no one told us it was al la carte or that we should order a side. Every person at our table was still hungry after the dinner, it's like a movie where you go on a date and they bring out a small fancy dish and expect you to say that it's freaking the best thing you have ever laid eyes on Well it's not, the server could have been faster with our drinks and our food took a long time. We come to Tiara restaurant annually for the Sunday brunch. This is third consecutive year we have been here. I've got to say that other than the omelette station the buffet was pretty depressing. How do you have a brunch buffet with no toast, croissants or breads etc. ? They had these giant dinner roll type breads....so odd ? The service was good as usual. I s stayed at Queens Landing this past weekend and had such a lovely time. As a treat my husband and I dined at Tiara's. It was adequately decadent in light of this long winter. I had the mussels as an appetizer which was served in a blue cheese cream broth. My husband had the sirloin and I had the salmon for my main course. The salmon was sautéed in an ice wine. The salmon was subtly sweet. My husband ate his entire steak, considering he doesn't have a huge appetite that was a very good sign. The portions were not overwhelming and the ambiance was delightful particularly in light of the most recent lockdown. I ended our dinner with the peanut butter bar. Rich, decadent and chocolaty. A delightful treat. I complemented my meal with Tom Gore's cab sauv. I realize I should have been working with whites however it was the sommelier's choice so how could I refuse. We visited for the first time in March due to a deal they had with the hotel for a great March Escape. A 3 course dinner for 2 was included in our overall hotel rate. The service was top notch and staff were attentive. We had 2 servings of the complimentary bread and particularly enjoyed the herb butter option. A balsamic and hummus were the other selections. For my main course, I had the Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon Herb Roasted Finger Potatoes, Crustacean Brodo. It was delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of vegetables but with how it was served (butter perhaps?) I ate it all. We had a lovely dessert as well and the staff put "Congratulations" on our plate as we were celebrating a special occasion. Came here for their Sunday buffet, and wow, it was the BEST WESTERN FOOD I've had in a long time! I live in NYC and have been to a lot of notable restaurants that serve Western cuisine, so I'm not easily impressed when it comes to food. But the seafood and meat dishes here blew me away. Also, the tabbouleh here was hands-down the best I've ever had. And the DESSERTS...OMG!! The desserts here were some of the best I've ever tasted in my life--esp. the red velvet cake, cheesecake and bread pudding. I was seriously underwhelmed by my experience here. The room is lovely... and the menu items sound good..... but neither the food nor the service were particularly good. While warmly welcomed, we were quickly forgotten to the point of neither water nor wine glasses being refilled, and us practically having to stand up to request our check being brought to the table at the end of our meal. I must say that the wine list was wonderful. Not only did it feature wines from Niagara-on-the-Lake (as would be expected), but there were bottles from all of the popular wine producing areas in both the United States and the world. The price points were fair. And the organization of the wine list was fantastic... both by variety and region. Bread was brought to the table with a balsamic reduction, pear butter, and house-made hummus. So far, so good. Our starters: "Brassica Caesar" (grilled romaine, peppercorn guanciale, marinated anchovy, and red pepper dressing) for me and "Celeriac Parmesan Bisque" (saffron compressed celery heart, toasted parmesan) for my companion were good, but not great.... with mine being the better choice. The soup was just too creamy and lacking in any layering of flavors. For an entree I chose the Risotto (with butter poached lobster, sweet corn,and heirloom tomato). The dish was extremely salty and neither the corn nor the tomato were noticeable. The lobster was a small-ish knuckle and claw that was over-cooked to the point of being a bit tough. When I mentioned this to the waitress, the reply was "oh... that's too bad". No offer of a substitution was made and sadly the dish was not finished. My dining companion's Atlantic Salmon (with ricotta gnocchi, cellar vegetables, and citrus butter) was also over-cooked... to the point of being dry and somewhat chalky. Desserts are reportedly made in house. "The Dark Chocolate Amaretto Opera Cake (with almond crunch ice cream) was delicious and went well with the small glasses of ruby port we chose. This sweet ending was a nice way to finish an otherwise totally forgettable meal. read more

The service was very good, the waiter was very helpful and a good conversationalist. The main was catch of the day, Arctic Char and the rack of lamb. My husband and I had reservations at Tiara restaurant at the Queen's Landing during our recent stay during what was a very stressful time for all the wait and kitchen staff.. during covid, being short staffed both in the kitchen and in the dining room. In saying that we had an amazing dinner and evening. The service was over and above...Our server Beverly was beyond apologetic for circumstances beyond her control and did her best to make sure we were satisfied with everything... The kitchen staff also did a phenomenal job .. Our meals were delicious and came out hot, plated beautifully and in a timely fashion. Shelly, I would assume to be a supervisor, maintained grace and composure while dealing with some patrons that were absolutely over the top with their needs to be satisfied.. Kudos to everyone working the kitchen and dining room during our recent stay. .We will most definitely be returning in the future.. read more

Poor service! Be prepared to wait 45 minutes for bread. We received three pieces of bread for 6 people. We didn't even get the second batch. Good food after waiting for an hour. Glass of wine was not refilled and we couldn't even fill our own glass as the bottle was not where to be seen. Do not recommend for the luxury price. I am very disappointed. Pasta was over cooked. However chicken fingers, and tenderloin were very well done. I think management just needs to work on service. read more

Made reservations for the Friday Bbq July 31st 2020 for 3 guests located in the patio area which is landscaped beautifully and overlooks the harbour. Fernando our host was pleasant at our slightly early arrival and seated us at a table but after ordering our beverages, we noticed the sun was shifting over us and what started once in shade now was in half sun. Due to Covid-19 measures, we were not able to shift our table over or chairs for distance purposing so I had to request our server Ric to be seated elsewhere at which we were told "No" twice. The restaurant was 1/2 empty and his excuse was it had to be sanitized of which I replied "I just watched how it was just sanitized" (which was a basic wipe down). Nothing out of the ordinary! Being annoyed I was being refused for a simple request not once but twice, I actually got out of my seat and asked him in front of the person attending to the bar to which he replied " just sit wherever you want." From this point, what could've been a 5 star review has soured me down to 3 stars and just a basic order instead to just have enough in our tummies. I was also a bit surprised that another alcoholic drink was listed on our bill and had to be readjusted, thankfully my husband asked me what a Queens 75? or something along the lines of that name, was as it was $16 We ordered: (prices are different from the online menu) -Farmer's tea $12 (alcoholic, served in a mason jar, gin+aperol+apple juice+basil, the basil was refreshing and I enjoyed sipping on an apple mixed drink as it pays homage to the Niagara region of apple farming. -Diet Coke $3.75 -Cornbread Muffin $5 (husband and child liked them, I spread butter and the bacon from our Caesar salad atop but I would've liked a jelly to accompany. I would also recommend straining a bit more of the kernel skin/layer as I didn't like the stone ground texture throughout. -Caesar Salad $10 (good portion, lightly dressed and tasty, the roasted garlic was mild and sweet and we assumed it was sourced local as imported garlic is more pungent) -Brisket and ribs platter$22 (the brisket was the star of the meal, the made from scratch sauces were appreciated and I loved the grain mustard, however the pork ribs were still a bit tough and needed to be tenderized a bit further. I also found the potato-corn salad and the coleslaw a tad bland and watery) -Beef short ribs $20 (thick 1.5-2" Kalbi cut) Charred nicely on the outside, tender on the inside and seasoning was good. Presentation of food especially the entrees is what I would expect from the Vintages Hotel group so no disappointment here. A few tweaks on execution and this would be an outstanding place to eat. The prices for the BBQ on the patio are reasonable for me considering this is a restaurant at Queen's Landing. I think a review of staff moral and politeness needs to be done as other patron reviews also have an issue with service. On another side note: the staff member who attended to the washrooms during our visit is super pleasant and was friendly to our family. read more

The next morning we came to Tiara, we thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast. Not only was the food good, but also prompt!! The waiter, wish I remembered his name, was so kind and friendly. We had dinner here one evening and it was a pretty good experience. Note that you can't actually sit out on the patio when you come to this restaurant (we asked). The patio belongs to the Bacchus Lounge (a bar/burger joint also in the Queen's Landing) and they won't serve the Tiara menu out there. I tried the beef tenderloin and it was delicious. Properly cooked to my requested medium rare. The sides were also beautifully done. I also enjoyed my sorbet for dessert. Their wine list is really quite impressive as well. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly. We didn't mind the slow service since we definitely weren't in a rush to go anywhere. But I'd keep that in mind if you're trying to squeeze plans in after dinner. read more

We went for lunch before our play. Oh wow, what a meal! Delicious food, from the appetizers to the mains. The goat cheese and mushroom pizza was so good! This is gourmet at it's best. The sorbets for desserts were so fresh and tasted like real fresh fruit. Couldn't ask for better service than Gerry's! The crowning achievement of the Tiara is the value provided by the Sunday buffet. Ce Magnifique! I held a family wedding anniversary ala carte dinner here in the private Jade Room, and the entire event was a memorable delight experience, albeit an expensive one. But getting back to the Sunday buffet. Oh my, as George Takei might say following a culinary experience at the Tiara. The quality of the food is of a high standard, and the deserts are to die for, which I probably will because I indulge my sweet tooth here raising my blood sugar levels. Try the chocolate mousse cake! Then go back and try it again to make sure you weren't dreaming. Then go back again for another slice to make absolutely sure. Go on. It's only $35 or so per person. Your sense of pleasure will thank you, but your scale and treadmill will not. read more

I ordered Eggs Florentine... it was the tastiest version of the dish I've ever had, earning that 4th star. Our waiter was pretty aggravating tho, offering services he never delivered, "I'll get you some more coffee, shall I?" Then he never brought it. This sort of treatment happened over and over. Not a huge menu, but everything we tried was really good. We shared a cheese plate for a light lunch, which was great. The cheese was the regular variety (cheddar, Stilton, goat, brie) but all tasted of excellent quality and the bread was delightful too. We then shared the lavender strawberry pot de creme and the drunken chocolate cake. The pot de creme was great, but the hazelnut shortbread with it was so-so. The chocolate cake was also only alright, but the beer ice cream and brown sugar crunch was good. I will give a shoutout to the view.. we sat on the 'terrace' with a view of the lake, and of course lovely flowers all around. It was also a very calm atmosphere since it was off Queen, where it was just crawling with people. read more

All I can say is we have been going here for years for the mother's day and Easter Buffett. We have always enjoyed the food immensely. The wait staff are excellent. Ask for Gerry. The surroundings were grande and our table was perfectly placed by the window. We could enjoy the winter view while fine dining. The meal was good for the most part. I ordered an appetizer that sounded wonderful with squash and pine nuts served over a tart topped with Brie and goat cheese, mmm, however, when it arrived despite the lovely presentation, the squash was not fork tender, very crunchy in fact, that disappointed and made the appetizer not as fine. The main course, filet of beef, was delicious and made up for the appetizer. Overall, the experience was very nice, but there are many other establishments you could indulge in at Niagara on the Lake, so I say pass. For vegetarians, the kitchen and wait staff will make you very happy. Very pleasant patio overlooking the yacht club and Niagara River. The chef's emphasis on local area food suppliers pays off in exceptionally delicious food that you can taste the freshness in. Down the street from the Festival Theater so a walk to or from is but minutes. The bar is everyone's idea of what an olde British club should look like. Can't say enough about them.
