I've actually been to this place before, was surprised that I had not done a Yelp review on it yet. It is within walking distance from my hotel so I absolutely had to go back there I sat myself at the bar and only took a moment for the bartender to come. Asked me what I wanted. I ordered a blue moon, which is nice that they put the orange slice in there. Some places don't but it was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the fish and chips and sat and watched some of the ball game on the big screen TVs, of which there are quite a few. I was a little surprised how long it took for the food to get there, when it did get to my table. The fish was very hot and the fries were a little higher than room temperature. But as you've went farther down into the basket they were warmer. I guess is they did the fries first and then the fish which normally should have been the other way around. The fish was pretty tasty except it was a little bit of soggy on the bottom, but they're tartar sauce is absolutely amazing. I would have given them five stars but the temperature of the food could have been better. Bottom line? I would definitely come back here again. Good service can make or break a dining experience. Our waitress was probably in the top 5 for attentiveness, and friendliness. We were greeted and seated immediately, within moments our drink order was placed and the. Shortly after our food order was moving through the kitchen. We opted for the poutine and a half cheese/ half pepperoni pizza with our little yelper wanting her chicken fingers and fries. The poutine had a good amount of flavorful gravy and cheese curds, and the fries were thick cut and perfectly fried. Definitely above average fries. The pizza dough was a touch thin (lots of flop) but good sauce, good cheese and the cup and char Pepperoni was a welcome surprise. Chicken tenders were of good size and perfectly breaded and cooked. Absolutely amazing! Service by Cooper was most entertaining, had the girls laughing, which is rare these days. Nancy joined in the hilarity of our group. Our lil group of ladies, age 50 to about 90, is known by my husband, as the "Hen's lunch" We go for our weekly lunch, to a select few restaurants. Mick and Angelo's has been one of our choices.. and have been several times... most people "review" when it's "bad" that's unfortunate. as usual the food was excellent, varied off both menus, Lunch and dinner, and met the needs of one of our groups strict diet! A solid 3. It was busy. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated...not bad, but about 8-10 staff walked past us with no acknowledgement, including the hostess, who eventually sat us. Service continued slow, but pleasant. Waited about 10 minutes to order our drinks, another 10 for them to arrive. Food came out relatively quickly considering. Mussels were good, tasty, although it tasted as though the wine hadn't been cooked off enough. My son enjoyed his pizza, but the fajitas. Oh my. I was surprised to find sauce on the fajitas when they were served. It was quite sweet, and I am diabetic, so would have preferred it not there. And...it was teriyaki sauce...on fajitas...with salsa, cheese and sour cream. Definitely a NO for me. Then there was the burning smell. It took a few minutes, but the sugar in the sauce started to burn on the skillet. Not carmelize, but burn, leaving a quite unpleasant acrid aroma. It took 3 napkins to wipe as much sauce as I could get off. Several staff passed by as this was happening, but none stopped to ask about it. A few other patrons ordered fajitas also. I've read the recent reviews, and I'm trying to figure out what people don't like about this place. I'd be happy if Mick & Angelo's was near where I Iive, since the food we had was good, substantial, and reasonably priced. The Greek salad is enormous, though we had to ask for a little extra feta cheese. But, all the ingredients are high-quality, and the Greek dressing was really good. The thin crust pizza was tasty, and you get a lot of food for your money. The seafood linguini was loaded with seafood, and the Alfredo sauce was creamy with a nice Parmesan cheese flavor. And, as with the other things on the menu, there was a lot of it. Now, combine the massive amount of tasty food with reasonable prices, and then add in TVs everywhere you look, and you have a winning combination. read more

Needing a quick dinner near our campground (KOA), we stopped in for a bite. It's a sports bar and restaurant. Partner got his chance for a little baseball watching. They had a band on the patio (lead singer needed some lessons on pitch). I order an app of artichoke dip. It was heavy on garlic, almost metallic tasting. The artichoke was not chopped evenly. Partner ordered a small pizza. Said it was good. I ordered a small Caesar salad, the dressing was flavorless. Mussels were my main entree. They were quite tasty. Yesterday afternoon my girlfriend and I decided two things. 1) We needed to eat lunch in Canada and 2) That we needed to eat calzones. These needs took us to the Peace Bridge where the border patrol directed us to Mick & Angelo's Eatery and Bar in Niagara Falls! We came here around Noon yesterday and immediately recognized the place from the thousands of times we've driven by it. When we walked in the place had a decent amount of people and we were seated right away. The menu here is pretty basic for a large Italian style restaraunt offering everything from pizza, sandwiches, burgers, chicken fingers, and of course calzones. I ordered a calzone with Italian sausage, chicken, and extra cheese and it was served with french fries on the side. My main problem with this place is that they don't have meatballs......and I love meatballs in my calzone. Even though the lack of meatballs broke my heart just a little bit, I was excited to dig in. When the calzone came it was smaller then I would of expected from a $17 calzone. The calzone itself was alright, but nothing to really rave about. The meat inside was good and so was the cheese, but overall it was just a basic calzone, and the same goes for the french fries. Overall, this place is as alright as it gets. The atmosphere makes for a cool night out but I would suggest ordering something other then a calzone. read more

Disappointed could not use Groupon on wings special which is $6.49 discount from $18.49 for 2 lbs while Don Cherry down the street has it for $11.99 per 2 lbs. So we ordered Fettuccine Alfredo for kids and myself add the shrimp. My wife had the mussels with linguini or something...with salad she only finished half of her entrée. I finished the loaf of bread and my entrée. I found my cream was a bit more powdery then creamy. Will try the kids left over later. My wife found it was too dark for her. We stayed down the street at the KOA. Honestly, the dining experience leading up to this was expensive and not great. We found this place and our 9 & 10 year old even wanted to go back. We went 2 nights in a row because it was good and the service was great. The servers were very friendly, accommodating and the price was very reasonable. The first meal was one of the cheapest we had and it was by far one of the cheapest. First, the kids menu was good and they provided them with a pretty big activity sheet which is great for the end of the day when the kids are done. My kids got the usual kid fair of chicken fingers and grilled cheese. They liked it so we liked it. The first night my hubby and I split a pizza and it was really good. They also have an extensive drink list and some good beers on tap. My hubby and I tried the Mountain Dew drink. It was good. The second night is got their berry rice bowl and it was amazing. I'm vegetarian so I got it sans chicken. It had Brussels sprouts, almonds, berries and I it! I wish we had something like this at home. The hubby got the Italian trio. It had lasagna, chicken and pasta. He said it was great. The chicken had a lot of flavor and pan fried. The Alfredo wasn't over powering. He is still talking about it which says a lot. Went here on Saturday night and ate in the bar. We had the Calimari Diavolo and LOVED IT! That and the peanuts and we were full. The beer was ice cold, the regulars were super friendly, even the owner (who we recognized from the picture in the doorway) made us feel welcome- chatting about the Steelers & Penguins. I read some of the other reviews, and sometimes the quality of the food can take a backseat to the welcoming atmosphere of a friendly bar. This place used to be a local staple. Been coming here since I was a kid. New owners took over and did an amazing job renovating it and it looks great.....but. The food is terrible. The service is not great especially at the bar. Menu is way to expensive for what you get. The food is budget. Poutine came with frozen fries and no cheese curds..just a little shredded cheese. Pizza and wing combos are around 40-50$ completely absurd and the wings we small. I do not think ill ever go back to eat there. Maybe a drink on the summer patio. This place went down hill fast. The food was decent - my wife had the tetrazzini and it was good, I had the carbonara and it tasted like they used dried bacon bits in it. Not ideal, but the pasta and sauce were good. The reason the rating drops so low is that my car got tossed while I was there. When I called the manager she told me it was a known issue, and there was a sketchy motel next door. There are no signs, no lights, nothing. I asked the manager to let other diners know to lock their cars so at least other people could avoid this, and her response was "they're all regulars so they know". If this is a known, ongoing problem this place has application to put some lights in their parking lot, and maybe a camera system. But lights at the absolute minimum. read more

Mick & Angelo's was on top of our list of must eats after watching Man Vs Food and it didn't disappoint. From the second we walked in we felt welcomed, the atmosphere was great and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The one complaint would be the fact that there is simply too much food on each plate. That food is so good you actually do attempt to eat more pasta than is legal but finishing a full dish is almost a MVF challenge in itself. Between us we had four different main dishes and each one was superb. Even if the food wasn't as good as it was our waiter Ron would have made the experience worthwhile. read more

Went here because my little daughter is a fan of Man v. Food. Other restaurants that Adam Richman has featured have been wonderful, but Mick & Angelo's was only okay. The restaurant is on a skeevy strip of road, near a lot of adult toy shops and sleazy motels. Service was friendly, but the food was nothing extraordinary. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich and a salad. The salad was fresh and packed with veggies. The chicken parm was pretty good. Had a Rickard's Red beer, a great brew that is not sold in the U.S. The food was pricey for the quality. The thing that made me want to head for the door was the constant '70s disco music that was playing in the background. It was loud and pervasive and really, really awful. This place is amazing! I am visiting from NYC and staying and the Ramada Plaza down the block and a good place for munchies! I had the Chicken Tettrazini which was a little on the pricey side ($18.50) but was very delicious! We got there late so they had late night specials. We had a pint of beer with 1lb or chicken wings for $9.99. Great deal! We got them breaded with mild sauce and they were cooked to perfection. The breading was perfect and crunchy while still moist and hot. But I think the bread was the best part. Out came a nice, hot giant loaf with insanely whipped butter. Service was great and very friendly! One of the staff members allowed us to sit wherever we wanted and joked about how we could sleep in the long booths and watch tv when we were done lol. Went here for drinks and wings with friends on January 27, 2019 and was treated poorly. Woman behind bar took 20 minutes to finally ask our order and another 15 minutes to bring the drinks, all the while getting my friends drink order completely wrong. When asking about ordering food we were completely ignored. Same woman didn't ask if we wanted refills or to order anything else, just paid for our drinks and left after 40 minutes of rude customer service. Went to Mr Mikes in Welland instead. I didn't look this up beforehand, but this place was recommended as a good family restaurant by 2 hotel employees and my niece's boyfriend. Googled it and it had 10 readers choice awards. Thought we were good to go. Got to say that it started out going from bad to worse. The spinach artichoke dip was good if it was called cheese dip with the occasional spinach artichoke thrown in. Pita bits were nice and crunchy but the tortilla chips weren't, not that they were stale but it lost it's crispness and were getting soft and chewy. Pizza you could find better in the frozen aisle. Ribs were horrible. Seafood pasta had shrimp were they must have meant size. They were tiny. I'd rather they give 2-3 big ones than many small ones. They were about the size of a nickel if that. Worse was they forgot my order. 5 minutes after everyone else's orders came I had to ask about mine. I got steak blue rare, mine should have been a quick meal which shortly arrived after an apology. We ended up here after every other restaurant was full. We were delighted to find out it was on Man vs Food, and there was live music on the outside deck. However, though there were several tables open outside, when we asked the hostess how long it would be, she claimed she had no idea. Umm... Okay? So we went inside and were given a 20 minute wait, which was reasonable. We ordered appetizers, and they didn't come for about 45 minutes. The waitress said they were on their way, so we just ordered dinner because we were all very hungry after a long day. However, she came back 20 minutes later, still with no appetizer, and said she was going to just now put the order in before the party of 40 ordered. That was considerate, but I didn't understand why she hadn't already put it in after we ordered. The appetizer finally arrived about 5 minutes before the food. And the food was not good. Not sure why the reviews are pretty rough on this place. The locals know better than us Michiganders, I am sure, but I may be biased, as my expectant wife & I were here celebrating our 2-year anniversary. Thus, we were already high on life & looking forward to our stay at the Falls. My wife's chicken fettuccine Alfredo came out extra saucy, just as she had asked for it - and my steak dinner was cooked with the right seasoning, medium-rare and very filling. Plenty of choices of sides in terms of potatoes & veggies. Also, the included warm bread and butter was excellent! Our waitress was patient & intuitive. She recommended a good cab company when I asked her opinion. Also, the live music outside on the patio looked very appealing (we could not opt for it as my wife was pregnant and there were smokers outside). Overall, this place is an all-American, or should I say Canadian, type place where you can go for some pasta, ribs, a burger or anything of the sort. Their chicken wings look authentic Buffalo style. If I went there again, I would try out the fish & chips. This is a good place to eat dinner away from the chaotic, craziness of the "downtown" Falls area, and it was convenient walking distance from our Days Inn of Lundy's Lane. read more

My boyfriend and I walked into Mick and Angelo's around 5PM for Thanksgiving dinner. The whole restaurant is plastered with multiple TV screens that shows the most popular games (Blue Jays this time) with occasional narratives by the more rowdy crowds by the bar. We were promptly seated and served warm bread and our drinks. My boyfriend ordered the thanksgiving meal for $20 which included soup, the main entrée, and dessert. The soup was a almost chili-like soup - it included beef, pasta shells, and beans in soupy tomato sauce. It was a little sour for my taste but otherwise enjoyable. For entree: there was white and dark meat - tender and slathered with gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes (real potatoes), and peas and corn. My only concern was that the peas and corn were cold. The dessert included caramel cheese cake which was waaaay too sweet - but tolerable if you scraped off the caramel sauce. I ordered the classic burger. This burger was juicy and full of flavour. The fries were obviously made first as they were somewhat wrinkled and not very hot. I'm unsure if we'll be returning as there are many more burger joints along the way of Niagara. read more
