My neighbor recommended Tibbitts to me and since then I won't go anywhere else for car repairs. My grandfather ran a repair shop so I know what an honest mechanic is like. I've also had some bad experiences with very dishonest repair shops. Tibbitts, in my opinion, is one of the best. They have never once tried to up-sell me, or do repairs that didn't need to be done. These guys are fair in their prices, take good care of your car and are HONEST. Here is an example of my latest experience with them from today: I tried to start my car yesterday and it was totally dead, it wouldn't try to turn over or anything. 2 days before it was fine, so I'm thinking either a problem with the electrical system or the solenoid but I went ahead and hooked it up to my charger anyways just to see. I let it charge for a bit (not long enough, as I later found out) but it still was totally dead. So I got it towed to Tibbitts and they checked it out and told me the battery had been completely drained. They charged it up and everything checked out fine. He wanted to keep it overnight to check it again in the morning to make sure there wasn't a parasitic drain on the battery (i.e. electrical system problem). So today he called and said everything was fine and it was good to go. A dishonest mechanic could have easily fed me some BS about the electrical system and charged me hundreds. Total charge from Tibbitts to check it out and charge the battery - $25! He even offered to come pick me up since I didn't have a ride to get there. read more

I don't have enough nice things to say about this place! I came in with problems with my A/C and they were quick about finding the problem, resolving the issue, and the price was incredibly fair. Ive taken my car to another place for my a/c issues before and they "fixed" the problem for about a month only for it to break again. I have yet to have any issues with my a/c since being at Tibbitts! The front office staff is also very friendly and helpful. The mechanics are honest and upfront about everything and will even come in and sit down to talk to you about what exactly is going on--he even showed me the pieces he'd be replacing in my car! It's also great to support local business-highly recommend this place-I don't think I'll go anywhere else for repairs from now on! read more

Called Tibbits a few days ago to ask for an estimate on replacing my ac condenser. The guy asked how I know it is bad and I told him that I could see transmission fluid leaking out of the top part of it. He told me that was impossible and that transmission fluid is cooled by the radiator. I told him that he was wrong and I would look for a repair shop that knows what they are talking about. Ford and Chrysler moved the transmission cooler from the radiator to the AC condenser on some cars a long time ago. read more

I've been a customer of Randy's since I was in college and he's always taken care of me. Always fixing what needs to be fixed without trying to up-sell me on anything. In fact, if you buy the part and bring it in, he just charges you for the labor. Just recently I needed a battery replaced, the auto store I took it to sold me all these extra tools and creams for the battery terminal, Randy saved me money by telling me I didn't need most of it and to get my money back. Yo this place is awesome. All the people there are cool and nice and don't screw you over. The first time I had to get my car worked on, it was an issue that cost like $700 because of parts and stuff. That's far out of my price range, so my dad helped me pay. He lives about an hour and a half away though so these guys worked with me to have him pay over the phone with no hassle. They sat down with me and explained what was wrong, how much it would cost, why this and that needed to be done, etc. They didn't push any kinds of repairs on me beyond the thing I came in there for. They didn't try to push an oil change or tire stuff or anything. They only went for what I asked them to look at. They also drove me home and picked me up again hours later when the car was fixed. They replaced a part that would make future repairs on this particular area of the car easier (I'd give specifics but I don't know how any of this stuff works. The engine was misfiring is the long and short of it). So that was all great a great experience. Several months later a problem arose in my car again that was related to the previous thing. I brought it in to figure out what was wrong, and not only was I not charged to have it looked at this time (I guess because it was obvious what was wrong this time), I was also not charged for the labor. I was literally only charged for the part to be replaced, which was about $70. Talk about a relief on my wallet! Super easy, super nice, and the car is running great again. They noticed my window is messed up (which it is) and put it on a list of things to look at when I bring it back again. I also work nearby, and anytime I see the guy who I talked to there (I can not remember his name for the life of me I'm bad at names) he always asks me how the car is running. Tibbits is awesome. Especially after being completely fucked by a commercial place before this, these guys are an honest good breath of fresh air. I'm absolutely bringing my car to them the next time I have an issue, need an oil change, whatever. If you have a problem with your car, go there! read more

I was extremely impressed with the service here! They definitely deserve all of the good reviews that they get. I went to have my truck checked out because it was overheating. I was thinking that it was a bad thermostat or maybe even a leak somewhere, but it turned out that it just needed antifreeze. The gentleman that worked on my truck was up front about how long it might take to check everything out and even took me out into the garage to explain what he found out. He told me that he performed a pressure test and it turned out that he just had to add antifreeze (I didn't think this would be the problem because I had already asked another place to add some during an oil change - but they didn't). He also told me that in the future I might need to just get a new cap or a new antifreeze tank from a parts store. The best part was that he didn't charge me a dime when I left! Staff was extremely personable and trustworthy! Would highly recommend to everyone! read more
