June 2, 2026. My truck would not accelerate when I stepped on the gas. Expert Car care in winter park checked it out with computers but DID NOT take truck for test ride. they said I needed a new transmission total $5,381.21. June 3, took truck to AAMCO in Fern Park . Mechanic did same with computers but he DID take truck for test ride. Mechanic says my floor matt was crumpled under the gas pedal and as a result I could not step on the gas..No Accelration! Stopped in today to get a price on a thermostat replacement, I was first quoted over 800.00 and I was flabbergasted then I was quoted 640.00! For a thermostat?! I called Holler Ford and it's 340.00- still high but you expect that from a dealer but half of what expert car care wanted! I've heard of things like that but not in a long time! Unfortunately I can't leave 0 stars. If you take your vehicle to this place, I HIGHLY recommend you get a2nd opinion somewhere else. I was a loyal customer to them for 4.5 years. The amount of money spent at this place, I'm sure they can put their grandkids in college. The past couple of times I went there, I started to get skeptical and felt like they were taking advantage of me financially. I truly do not know much about cars and just like hungry sharks, they fed off of that. My final straw was when I needed just 1 lug nut and they had the audacity to charge me $20. I went to Advanced Auto Parts and I bought one for $3. I told them how this place tried charging me $20 and they were baffled and said they've never heard of a place charging that much for one. I also noticed my car was making a severe rattling noise. Anytime I drove it felt like something was going to fall off the car. I spent a ridiculous amount of money for them to do a diagnostic. They said I had a bad AC compressor and that's what was making the noise. They wanted to charge over $2,000 for it. I couldn't afford that. Meanwhile, I'm still paying off my credit card from my previous visit there. They also said my car was still drivable and there was no safety concerns if I still drove it if I didn't get the compressor fixed. I tried driving later that night for work and had to cut the trip short because it felt so unsafe to drive due to the intensive rattling. I decided to take my car to another shop for a 2nd opinion. I'm so glad I did because they were knowledgeable and their prices are VERY reasonable. Turns out I needed new sway bars. They said the AC compressor had nothing to do to what that noise was. Not even close. For $250, my car was fixed. No more rattling. I called Expert Car Care and I asked for my money back for the diagnostic. Not only did they not fix the reason why I brought the car there, they tried to get $2,000 to fix what the problem was not. I was told they wouldn't do a refund, but they'll give me a credit towards my next time there.. well, I'm out of that money because I will not go back there again. I asked why they couldn't give me the money back and was told it's too much of a process for them to contact the credit card company. They dont want to be inconvenienced, but the nonsense I had to go through mentally and financially is no problem for them. Also, he said that he needed to speak to the higher ups / executives to get approval for it and he would get back to me. He didn't get back to me. I had to call multiple times to get him on the phone. I was told they'll leave a message for him to call me. He didn't. Finally, when I was able to get him on the phone, he said he couldn't do the refund. So he did "find out" but didn't care to call me. Also, I found out after the fact, he was one of the executives! I am not the kind of person who leaves negative reviews on ANYONE. I've been in customer service, I get it! But they absolutely earned this review. Do not bring your car there unless you have endless amounts of money or you don't mind being taken advantage of. That place makes an unbelievable amount of money and they can't give me a refund for a diagnostic. They don't care who they screw over, they just want more and more and more money. It's going to be a pain to leave reviews on other sites, but if I can help prevent someone else from going through what I did, I will. Time to move on. read more

BEWARE I brought my car in for a thumping sound, and they said my sway bar links were installed incorrectly. They kept my car for seven hours to do a job that took one hour, and when I picked it up, my ABS and traction control lights were on, which weren't issues before. The ABS sensor is right next to the sway bar links they reinstalled. The manager said it wasn't their fault and that it would cost $400+ to fix. On top of that, my car was filthy, my steering wheel was black do not recommend this place! read more

Paid $880 to fix a simple repair on the 3rd cylinder and three attempts later and the repair has not been correctly done. car is at dealership and the "Experts" want to know what the dealer's diagnosis is so they can they attempt to fix it for a FOURTH time. They hide the policy if they can't fix your care; they will NOT refund your money. We've contacted our attorney and he assured me they are completely in the wrong and had to file a complaint with the Winter Park court system. Take your car anywhere else! read more

Update on my previous review. The starter was the problem. It failed a few months later. So I likely paid $400 for misdiagnosis. Terrible.

Didn't even have to bring my car in. I called to have my transmission checked because of an error code. The mechanic on the phone said it would cause $199 to have it flushed. I said no I don't event need it to be flushed I need it be checked because I have an error code. The mechanic goes away comes back $180 for us to check this out. I know it's a pain to check my transmission fluid on my car since it underneath but 188 just to check something is crazy. I'm good I'll go to dealership before I go here if that's the pricing. read more

Got my Scion towed here after it gave out and they diagnosed my issue extremely quickly and had it up and running the very next day.

Stopped in a couple weeks ago, because an indicator on my dash said to have my coolant levels checked. They were able to get me right in, which I appreciated. They kept my car for around an hour, and came back telling me that I need a new water pump and rear brakes ($2200+ quote). I decided to take my car to the dealership for a second opinion, and the dealership says that I don't need any of that. This business almost stole my money. This feels criminal. read more

I towed my Acura MDX to this shop for a diagnostic test and what they came up with was my car was out of timing by two teeth so I paid 500$ for them to put in timing and put glue on the water pump. They sent me a email instead of calling me to come pick up my car. As soon as I started the car I had warning lights lit up on my dash like if it was Christmas tree. My car never had that happen before so I took it for what I thought was a test drive but didn't make it to the edge of the driveway on the business and my transmission went off traction control went off and the car died again (MIND YOU THERE Diagnostics showed none of these relays nor sensors were bad so they say but just to make sure it was done right I told them I had those sensors there to change them or check them before closing the timing cover. I left the car again for them to tell me I was right it is a sensor and they need 533$ more to put it in and they waved the diagnostic fee like if that was going to help me. Never again will I give my money to lame shops that act like they no but they don't no shit unless your there eating your day away to make sure there work is right. I mean how hard is it to check everything before you start working then check it again when you done. I'm this case I got robbed I paid half there rent just for them to spin a wheel two teeth and put glue on a leak DAM SHAME !!!!!!!!!!! Purchased tires at Tire Rack and had them shipped here for install. On the positive side they were responsive and got me in quickly. When I picked up the car all the tire stem caps were missing and there was dirty handprints/smudges on the outside and inside of the car. In addition even though I paid for balancing the car shook like an old wagon at 60 mph. Had to take it back for round 2; they did fix it that time. I'll also add that this business is not focused on the health of it's employees or customers. Employees at the front counter didn't wear masks, there was no effort to wipe down the car, and zero enforcement of masks with customers. A majority of the customers in the shop were not wearing masks. I will not be back. read more

Going to preface this review by saying I didn't actually go in/get my car serviced. BUT... AAA towed my car here and they discovered I needed a new motor. Larry researched pricing options and graciously took various calls from me throughout the day as I was at work and couldn't get away for longer than 1-2 minutes. He also encouraged me to call Kia and inquire about their 10-year/100k mile warranty, despite the fact that I was just over 100k miles. I took his advice and was beyond thrilled to discover they did in fact cover a motor replacement. After all the back and forth, I ended up having to get my car towed from Expert Car Care to a Kia dealer. Larry kindly handed the keys over to AAA and made a stressful process so much easier than expected. Thank you so much for giving me honest advice and patient assistance. OMG. This place is amazing!! I'm 60 and have 3 kids so 5 cars. Always something. I will never use another place. I have a 2007 Dodge Durango that is in great condition. Used it to pull boat. It has all the bells and whistles with less than 100,000 miles. I was driving back from Tampa. Hit a pothole. The bracket that is WELDED to the frame and goes to the top of the rear drivers shock snapped in half. I pulled over and the bolt had lost the nut so it was easy enough to remove the bolt and half the bracket. I moved the shock back and drove slowly home. I called 20 some places. Didn't want to drive the truck to much, but they all said you need a new frame or you have to bring it in but since its welded to the frame we doubt we can do anything. Even the dodge dealer said the same thing. I kept calling until I reached Jason at Expert. He told me that they most likely could do something. Asked me to send home a photo of the part. He said bring it is he was confidant they could take care of it. I walked into the office (like NO auto office ever) looked more like a nice coffee shop. Met Jason and he told me all the bays were full and it would be about two hours before one would ope. I said awe man, I need to get this. Fixed and the only option left was to go to the dealer to see what they could do. That leaves filling out paperwork, leaving the car, and waiting till they can get back to you. Jason asked me to give my phone and address etc to the guy at the desk. He was very polite. Next thing you know I see Jason backing a car out of the bay and then pulling my car in. Up it went and about two cookies and a cu of coffee ( free to customers) Jason came in and said well, we have two choices. One is get a new frame. About 6k. The other was that he was confident he could weld it in place and make two small support plates. And it would be done in about about two hours and would cost $129 bucks. I was like are you sure? This holds the shock. He said come on out and take a look. He explained exactly what he was going to do, showed me and assured me he had been welding for many years and it would hold. I was flabbergasted. So I go back into the waiting room, and there is a small fridge with bottled water. I got one and went to the guy at the desk and asked how much. He said they we complimentary. WOW. We chatted and I saw a sign behind him that gave full synthetic oil change prices. The hemi in my truck takes 7 qts and is about 70-80 or so at any oil express place. Their sign said $69 bucks. I said really? For the hemi? Yup. I said do it. I can not even come close to saying how great the service, price AND waiting room were. It was nicer and homier than any doctor, dentist or other repair place. I sat at a beautiful picnic type like table with soft stools. Helped myself to two more cookies and another water, got my iPad out and saw they had free WI-FI. Did some reading, and 90 min later Jason comes in and says Mr Edson, you truck is done. We rotated the tires and balanced them. If you'd like to look before I pull her off the rack follow me. I saw his work. A master. I asked how the other brackets looked and he said he checked them all and tightened the bolts on each. I asked him his impression of the truck (2007) but in nice shape, and paid off, and he said it looked great. No rust, he had checked the muffler brackets and bolts to make sure they were tight. Showed me the new oil filter. And man oh man. I will never go to any other place period, they do tires, straighten frames, for a little extra cash they had several cars out front with low miles. I asked him about them. He said sometimes they go to wreck yards and pick up cars and light trucks that have been totaled and let the newer young folks repair them as part of their education, they show you the wrecked car, tell you what they had to do to repair it, and they were all nice looking cars for under $3,000. He told me they are very up front with people about the cars, that they make about 1,000-2,000 each, which covers parts and the labor. What a smart, great way to educate staff, help pay them if business is slow, and that the cars are safe, tested and perfect for a UCF student to buy to buzz around in, What a place. Thank you! I had driven by their shop every day to and from work for six months and never stopped. I called and they said come over right now and we'll look at it. Expert Car Care is anything but expert. I took my Mazda 3 there in September of last year when the check engine light came on. I was told then that several things were wrong, and got it back $1850. later with one caveat. The TCM (transmission control module) needed to be replaced but, due to supply chain issues they did not know how long it would take for one to be acquired. I was told that I could continue to drive the car without it, but I'm really tired of seeing all the lights still glaring me in the face on the dashboard. I kept calling them for a couple of months and got the same song and dance that they still could not get one. And, every month I would get an email stating that my Mazda was due for service!. I replied several times that once they got the part that I would return. There's a fat chance of that happening! I recently blocked them from sending emails. Never have they once called me to bring me up to date on their search for a TCM! I will now be dealing with a reputable repair shop and will, hopefully, have my car back to normal. Old school! I don't know why I've never tried this place before. I've lived in Maitland for 30 years and I've always noticed this place was busy. I bought new tires for our Audi on tire rack on-line. Expert Car Care was a "recommended installer". I did some research and found nothing but great reviews about this business. Sure enough, outstanding service levels at very reasonable prices. They post their hourly labor charges and compare them to competitors in the area. Now that we own both of our cars and will drive them until they quit, we will be taking our vehicles here. BAIT N SWITCH! Get you in for an oil change, then they go through your engine and make up all kinds of ridiculous things, yet don't do the work you hired them to do! Figured I'd try this location because they are on a busy corner I drive by on a regular basis. Took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. Seemed simple enough... until they called me and started rifling off a laundry list of engine fluids and repairs they claimed needed to be attented to that had recently been done at the dealership. When I arrived to pick up my car, I noticed the tires had NOT been rotated. I walked inside and mentioned this to the guy behind the counter. At first he played dumb... then he started with a long unnecessary rant about how some customers don't like their tires rotated, even though I had already requested and confirmed this with them when I dropped my car off. What's more interesting is that he showed me my receipt and it stated on my receipt they had indeed rotated my tires, when in all actuality they hadn't.... SHADY!!!! It then took another 2 hours for them to work my car back into the garage. I dropped my car off at 12pm and they weren't done until 7pm with their added miscues. They can't do the simple work you pay them to do, yet they attempt to find as many things wrong with your vehicle to make extra money. Avoid Expert Car Care! read more

0 Stars!!! Talk about a screw job, had a problem with my car overheating, knew it was my thermostat, took it here on a recommendation of a friend... Bad idea! Dropped it off ( 2006 Nissan 350Z) in the am, figured it would be done in a few hours, call came in that now there was a huge leak in radiator, wasn't before, so tell me how much more... Had that changed. Hours later a call that my heads were blown due to overheating. Need a new motor he tells me. Basically say the car is junk otherwise, they proceed to tell me that if I bring the title in and sign it over they will clear my bill. Hmmmmm. Decided I would look into it further, stop in pay my bill and take it home. Upon further review, heads not blown, no knock in engine, oil not changed ( was billed for), filter not changed (billed for) and all of this was written up on my bill. Said it was a small error on their part and that they were sorry. Pretty sure they have no idea what they are doing and basically screwing everyone over. So GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! To risky to even begin to trust these guys, spend your money with someone that is trust worthy. read more

I've been coming here for years for oil changes and repairs and have always been happy with the service I've received. I always hate going to the quick service oil change places because they always pressure you into a bunch of additional repairs, new wiper blades, etc, etc. This place just does the oil change, period. No hassles. My only advice would be to call ahead and see how busy they are or drop your car off and get a ride to save yourself a possibly long wait. read more
