I am extremely unhappy with the service I received from Olympic this week 7/31/2024. Brought my daughter's Cadillac in on 7/29 I told the gentleman there was an issue with the driveshaft and left the car. I got a call from Aaron and he told me the engine and transmission mounts needed to be replaced, I explained that I felt it was the driveshaft and why - he told me the loose mounts could cause the driveshaft to move and create the noise I was hearing. He quoted me 1500 for the repair and said if parts were available my car would be done at business close, if problem with parts the following day. When I had not heard back I called the following afternoon and Aaron told me he hadn't touched my car because of an emergency and it would probably be Wednesday before it was ready and he would call. He called that evening at 5pm told me repair was done but he needed to test drive in am and would call when complete. Wednesday around 12:30 I still hadn't heard from Aaron so I called and was told and adjustment needed to be made and car would be ready in 30 min. When I arrived Aaron was behind the counter and explained that he had to replace the DRIVESHAFT and that he didn't call to ok the work because he was under the car and it had to be done, that my new bill was 1800 but said he gave me a discount. I told him that I stated when I brought the car in and when I spoke to him that it was the driveshaft, he told me that he didn't hear the driveshaft on the first test drive, that he was sorry he did his best. He then talked about that he doesn't try to rip people off and that he runs an honest shop. I don't feel that this was malicious or an attempt to rip me off, however, I stated the driveshaft was the issue from the start and at the end of the day it was the driveshaft. I paid a total of 918.00 (engine mounts) for a repair that was not needed at this time and more importantly not what the car was brought in for. I feel at a minimum I should not have had to pay the 378 in labor for the mount replacement that wasn't the issue, and btw he did not replace the transmission mounts that were included in the original quote because he said it wasn't needed. This was a one day repair that took 3 days and as far as the discount I've found the driveshaft part 975-426 ranging between 450-700 he charged me 500. As I stated earlier I don't feel this was an intentional rip off, a misdiagnosis was made and my verbalizing that it was the driveshaft was clearly disregarded. I feel the labor should have been deducted for the repair I didn't need but that was not the outcome so after consideration I felt I needed to leave this review so others will know to strongly advocate for themselves. read more

Sadly, used to be one of the best repair shops in town when Bob (owner) managed it day-to-day. Bob retired and now it's a mess. For example, the new front desk guy, the primary customer interfacing person, thinks it's funny to tease people about the cost or status of the repair, or the existence of their car at the shop. When the lady in front of me, picking up her call in the morning probably needing to get to work, asked the cost of the repair, he said "a million dollars" and when the lady said "what?", he said "a million and half". The teasing continued for her and others. Customers are waiting to get their cars. On the repair side, Aaron only fixed one of two wheel bearings that had noise issues even after I asked him to consider replacing any other worn bearings on the rear because that is where the most noise was coming from. He said not necessary. 30 days later, the rear bearing had to be replaced. The noise was very noticeable after Aaron's partial repair. The shop that properly diagnosed and repaired the wheel bearing was JDM Toyota & Honda Specialist that has great service and customer communication. read more

Olympic Auto is the ONLY business I trust to work on my car. Aaron (the owner) knows cars. He is very knowledgeable, professional and so reasonable and just an all around great guy. He never overcharges like some other businesses, sometimes I felt like he wasn't charging enough. He always explains things so simply and never talks over your head. Oftentimes he'll even write down the part numbers for what you need so you can buy them online cheaper and he'll put them on for you, only charging labor. Sweet!! I can't say enough about Olympic, Aaron is top notch and his crew of mechanics are just as nice as he is. I recently moved out of state so I miss them. I was quoted nearly $500 for a power steering pump replacement by a peppy boy from a large retailer. I got a 2md opinion from Olympic who quoted me $120 less for the same job. After Aaron did his own assessment, it turns out the p/s pump DIDN'T need replaced and it was just a busted O-ring. My out of pocket was only $56. He didn't nickel and dime me for every service. For example, the large retailer wanted to charge $57 for a p/s flush and even more for fluid replacement. Olympic charged $5 for the fluid. There were no metal shavings in the fluid as I was told by the large retailer. Olympic has earned my trust. The large retailer put on a high pressure sales tactic, trying to scare us that we shouldn't be driving the car. I highly recommend Olympic. read more

They never try to oversell me or make me fix things that aren't needed right away. One time they found $100 that had fallen through my glove box into whatever is behind it and returned it to me. Very disappointed with the quality of service delivered here. Friends and family highly reccommended; although I was quite unpleased as they failed to properly diagnose the vehicles' problem, and not even 4 days after receiving the vehicle back, the same issue worsened and ultimately failed, all due to their incompetence. Bob and his team are amazing!!!! My family has been going to them since the early 1980's. Very honest, very helpful. There have been times I was in dire need of a repair and they would drop what they were doing to get me back on the road. Also knowing I was short on funds they would diagnose the problem knowing I was going to get a friend to fix it for me with the just the cost of purchasing the part. If the problem is something my husband, whom is a mechanic, doesn't have the tools to fix or needs a lift, vehicle goes immediately to Olympic Auto. NEVER HAVE I BEEN TREATED BADLY OR MISLED. After having been a customer here for over 10+ years and dealing with both Bob and Aaron - father and son owners of the business. I had nothing but good things to sat about their business. However, after bringing 3 vehicles there for repairs, one of our vehicles that had problems with the air conditioner that continued to experience problems with no air after being repaired there for 3 times with invoices totaling over $1,200 continued to not work. The last time I even left the car there for several days so they could diagnose the problem since Aaron stated the problem was intermittent and the car resides w/ my daughter in Jacksonville. Upon the second day of the car being there I received a phone call for Joe an employee there who mans the front desk, he stated to me very rudely that I needed to pick up the car, nothing was wrong with it very rudely and also stated to me that they were not a storage facility. When I asked to speak with Aaron, I was told by Joe that he did not want to speak to me and that he was going to BLOCK MY NUMBER, even though he is NOT THE OWNER. I never received a call back from Aaron or anyone and we were forced to take the car elsewhere for repairs. Now, the other day, my Interstate battery which was replaced at Olympic Auto as well, has not been holding a charge, I called Olympic Auto to find out the remainder of my warranty on the Battery since it was purchased there and still under warranty. I left a message on their voice mail, and despite the business being open that day and left my telephone number , NO ONE HAS RETURNED MY CALL. Very poor business practice in my opinion, and I am sure that if Bob was still working and not retired none of this would ever have happened. Joe the person who now operates their front desk area is very RUDE,NASTY,AND UNPROFESSIONAL as I am very certain other people have encountered dealing with him. It is such a shame that after being a loyal customer with 3 vehicles that we brought here for repairs that this is how I was treated. I have used Olympic Auto for a really long time, before they were directly on 436. My parents used them and it was a time when they were much smaller of an operation. I know that mechanics come and go, but Bob (the owner) and a few of his older mechanics are really good. Prices are fair and Bob will tell you exactly what is wrong. The only problem I have is that some of the new techs come in and don't know what they heck they are doing. It seems to me that some problems slip through the cracks because of these new techs. read more
