I have never done this, but I am going to post two reviews for this company. The first review that I am posting now is going to be based off of response time, attentiveness, and effectiveness. When I say the bar has been set high... I've never had to deal with Remediation companies, but I have only heard the worst and how they can cost you an approval through your insurance for being able to use your benefit. This company since the moment I called my plumber at 10:40 PM on a Wednesday and let them know that I had a Water emergency, has responded within minutes of EVERY point of contact. I contacted my plumber told him I had an issue at 10:40 PM, my plumber said not to panic. He had a great Remediation team and he recommended tidal wave and Mr. John. Mr. Jon was texting me all of the information as well as a link to the company and their reviews on Google Before I ever talked to him on the phone and told me he would be at the address between 8am and 10am the very next morning And not to worry about anything. This contact was based off of my plumber texting him, my information, not me reaching out. He took the initiative to reach out first. Ever since that first conversation, there has not been one time where a text has gone unanswered in a matter of minutes or a ball has been dropped, or I have felt strung along or ignored. I have been helped from the very first step up into this point and with a company that was so confident in what the next steps were, it made me feel comfortable in a situation that I've never had to deal with. And they are so coordinated across their team. Everyone is amazing. Mr. Mike , Mr. John, Mr. Collin... All of them, and I am nothing but grateful. They have handled everything up until this point with such a level of professionalism. I wouldn't even look anywhere else if I ever need the service again. Now my next review will be off of the work that is done and I will show photos of the before and after. I had a freezer line Pop on my refrigerator and it flooded the upstairs and downstairs calling for renovation. The best case scenario is finding people like this. I will be back, this occurrence is covered under my insurance and my agent is talking directly with Mr. Jon, which really makes me feel like I'm in great hands even more so. Tidal Wave Response (TWR) should be the first call if you ever have a water problem at home or work. We recently noticed black mold growing above a door jam on our ceiling in our finished basement. Understanding the risks, we called our plumber, who recommended TWR. We called immediately and described the issue, and Mark said he'd be over to assess the problem within the hour...even though it was Friday night. He and John showed up as promised, quickly evaluated the issue using the latest technology, determined it was probably a slow pin-hole leak in our copper piping, and scheduled the crew to come out the next day. Early the next day, the remediation response team arrived on time, removed the sheetrock, identified the source of the water problem, confirmed the predicted pin-hole leak, and contacted my preferred plumber. They installed the fans, air scrubber, and dehumidifier, and cleaned the area...all within just a few hours. By the time the Tidal Wave Response was ready to leave...my plumber was waiting outside to fix the dripping pipe. I could not have asked for a better experience. Mark, John, Chris, and the entire response team, Bernard, Jevon, and Matthew, are top-notch professionals. Tidal Wave is fast, friendly, and professional, and their pricing was very affordable. Communication throughout the process was impeccable, and I wholeheartedly can say I'd recommend TWR to anyone experiencing water damage in their home or business. Initially, Tidal Wave (TW from here on) seemed to be the one to go with. Their representative was at my house within 30 minutes of the plumber calling them. He took pictures, gave me the run down on how it works and I told him I'd call my insurance company right away to let them know I was going with TW. That afternoon I called TW to let the representative know it was on with my insurance. He wasn't available so I left a message for him to call me. No call. The next day I called again and left him a voice mail to call me. No call. This morning I called again and finally got him on the phone. He told me what the next step would be and I gave him my adjustors info. 6:00pm today I get a text saying he just spoke to his boss and their not taking the job. 3 days wasted. Thanks TW! So- this company had a good plumber- who fixed our issue fast- but couldn't really explain the issue.. They were super quick with demolition of our basement and kitchen island- but ghosted us completely on repairs. I mean no show. No call. No response- even after talking to the "owner". Do not go. Do not use. Super unprofessional if you want to be done with what is always a pretty disruptive process inherently. These are not the droids you're looking for. read more

Worst nightmare. Same scenario as many others on here. Plumber called and they showed up, tore up tiles from the floor without proper authorization from insurance company, stole items from the house , never showed up to restore and put a lien on my house. Owner says his company has never been accused of stealing. After reviewing the BBB complaints, almost all say that things are stolen from their homes. Dishonest is too nice of a word for these people and I will post reviews anywhere and everywhere I see. read more

TIDAL WAVE RESTORATION---PROCEED WITH CAUTION Tidal Wave (TW) was quick to come out when we had a 3rd level flood in February 2022. They were just as quick to avoid returning calls and ghost us completely. The project manager was onsite when convenient for him but asked repeatedly for us to go by the house to check the progress of work. All in all, you will have to be the project manager. I took over 700 pictures during the 7-month project. These came in handy when I had to use them to solve discrepancies. Several days/weeks would go by with no work being done. Communication was HORRIBLE! We had to email, text and call the project manager and owner (John) several times before getting any response. My insurance paid us directly and TW billed me. When asked for an itemized bill, TW informed me they use the quote from insurance. After reviewing the quote, there were many items TW billed for but NEVER COMPLETED. One of the subcontractors requested payment immediately so I paid them directly per insurance and TW. However, TW is still billing me for this payment (double charging me). Once my house was completed, I reached out to the accountant, project manager and owner to discuss charges/payment. I sent an email on August 19th...no response. Sent an email to the project manager on September 21st and was told they would review my email. Reached out again on October 19th and November 1st. Emailed them all again on December 27th. This is when Suzanne (accountant) then informed me that John reviewed my account and put a lien on my house. TW is quick to avoid conflict and will not hesitate to put a lien on your house. PLEASE BEWARE!!!! Do not use Tidal Wave. You will not be satisfied with the work. Also DO NOT PAY FOR UPGRADES!!! I have holes in my hardwood floors and my stair railings are very loose and unsafe. This is all on TW for not using quality subcontractors to complete the work. I am still hopeful that TW will reach out to me so we can get this settled soon. read more

Unfortunately my 2nd experience with this company was not a pleasant one. My contractor accidentally caused a leak when remodeling my bathroom. Tidal Wave was called out and the supervisor quickly me the location of the water of the water damage. At one point he talked to the contractor ( as we already had fans going at that point). At no point did I indicate that I was not interested in their service. i received no estimate , no response to a follow up email written 3 days later , no return phone call from supervisor, no response to an additional email and no return phone call from owner who indicated he would call back same day along with supervisor. I still have not received any estimate. The only customer service I received was the owner stating he would not set foot on my property until he was paid $ 3500 cash. My original experience with this company was awesome. It is unfortunate that this last experience was so terrible. I will not be recommending them in the future. read more

The work Tidal Wave performed was adequate, but during work by the demolition team, three coats disappeared out of our coat closet (the three most-valuable ones, "coincidentally"). Initially, we thought they may have accidentally been collected as part of the demo'd flooring/drywall to be disposed, but the trash-pickup team that came a couple days later could not find the coats among the garbage. We searched high and low around our home but could not locate the coats -- it seems they were stolen by someone on the demo crew. We have called and talked to multiple employees and the business owner about this over the past three months who couldn't offer an alternative explanation, but promised follow-ups for compensation have gone unfulfilled, and phone calls have gone unreturned. I cannot recommend a company that doesn't take responsibility for their employees, and theft more than negates any quality of work. If you do use Tidal Wave, be sure to watch their workers like a hawk while they're in your home. If I could rate Tidal Wave Response less than zero stars, I would!  PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEARTACHE, and here is why... After Phase 1 was completed on May 5, 2021, and I paid my Co-payment to Tidal Wave Response, the company agreed to return to my home and complete the cleaning, drying, and mitigation of my interior structural items.  While I thought after the mitigation was finished, my house was well on its way to being restored. The contractors left my basement in a mess.  This is when the nightmare begins.  After Phase 1 was completed, I was contacted by Damon ( one of the workers in charge of Phase 2).  Damon reached out to me to provide me with two options toward paying out of pocket to replace the carpet in a room where it was uninsured. I agreed to cover the charges but not the high dollar amount they quoted me.  After refusing the second offer, Damon agreed to send the carpet vendor back to my home to choose another carpet color within the agreed amount. Once the vendor returned to my house, and I went with another color, I was contacted by the company's bookkeeper requesting my Co-payment (she claimed this is why the repairs have not taken place). Frustrated (from going back and forth and being given the run around), I explained I had completed the transition and wanted to know when the repairs would begin in my home.  After the bookkeeper reviewed her notes and realized she made an error, she followed up, stating I chose an upgrade and needed to pay an additional $400.00. After refusing to pay any further fees, I was contacted by the company owner, John/Johnny. John was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive.  John communicated to me to find someone else to service my home and refunded my money. I will follow up on this post regarding if I receive my money promptly.  Save yourself the trouble and go with another company with less hassle, headache, and know how to communicate and follow up with their clients in a timely and professional manner. They put a lien on my house. I was going to pay them but the work wasn't complete. I couldn't get in touch with them for a month then they called for the check. I told them I already have someone coming to complete the work. We did reach an agreement and he removed the lien. read more

Horrible experience and still no resolution. A retro collectable Christmas tree disappeared during cleanup. The painters used the wrong paint and did a horrible job. I'm still cleaning paint splatter and sheetrock mud from my furniture and bathroom and they didn't even paint the bathroom. The only positive is the floor was installed professionally and the guy was respectful. They left a completely different color paint for touchups and we haven't been able to get anyone to bring the correct paint. Tidal Wave has been an absolute nightmare. The staff are not up front people who rushed to tear my kitchen apart but reassure me that the adjuster can verified afterwards and no cost to me. This company after destroying my kitchen stated that certain insurance companies are hard to deal with. So knowing all of that with the insurance company that was said is one of the companies that is difficult to deal with, why would you think that it was okay to demolish my kitchen and not complete the work, because the insurance agency didn't wanted to give up anymore money. So they wanted me to take out a loan for 4,000 dollars- crazy. Drop me simply because they could not get in any more money out of my insurance agency or get me to do the loan. Then after all of this with discernment I spoke with John Myers who stated he work 14 hours a day and don't need additional problems. Guess what, I work 12 hours a day and now I have no kitchen due to you being so sensitive and selfish, and decide to relieve yourself from duties that should have been finished or negotiated with the Adjuster. This is unjust and ungodly- . Mrs Suzette Collins has send me an email of a total that has no clarity on what the cost is.....THIS COMPANY IS A RIP OFF AND ALL I CAN REMEMBER IS THE WORD HELP BEING USED A LOT BY THIS COMPANY. Using Tidal Wave Response was a nightmare! They told me everything I wanted to hear but didn't follow through. Then they decided to file a lien on my home without notice. I never refused to pay them. They just decided to file the lien and the funny part is that the work order submitted was fraudulent! We had to do most of the work ourselves and also go back behind there work also. No one ever wants to have to use a remediation company and sadly we've had several experiences. But we've never used Tidal Wave until this time -- about half of our house was impacted by a collapsed line and a subsequent overflowed toilet. Chris, Colin, and the owner Johnny have been amazing to work with. From the first day they explained exactly what they were going to do and even helped us by interfacing directly with our insurance company on our behalf. We called Serv-pro and after waiting 2 1/2 hours for them to show up, I called Tidal wave response of Roswell and had immediate service. They were so helpful navigating insurance issues. This Company is a complete fraud. We had a ceiling leak coming from our neighbors upstairs. Someone named Mike from Tidal Wave came over to access damages for our insurance company. He brought in all sorts of cameras/ devices and told us that we had thousands of dollars in floor/Wall/Ceiling damage. He noted all of our floors needed to be repaired and he he told us that they could start repairs tomorrow. Mike stated if insurance doesn't approve the repairs they do, Tidal Wave would cover all of the repair costs, minus the deductible. Instead, we asked Mike to just give us paperwork that mentions all the damages he noted so that we could forward it to our insurance company. But oddly, Mike refused to give us anything in writing. We continued to request documentation of Mike's findings, and a month later, Tidal Wave called my insurance company and told them we had slight damages in the ceiling. We were so confused because Mike was literally ready to tear out all of our hardwood floors, and now they were saying we did not have damages. They would not provide us with any of the paperwork or pictures taken from Mikes initial assessment. The whole company seemed shady and untrustworthy. read more

Very professional and honest. They came to see and assess the possible water damage due to punctured drain line in the bathroom. They looked around for a while and told me that the damage did not need a professional assistance. Instead, Johnny (owner) and Colin instructed me how to fix the problem myself. They did not even charge me anything, answered all of questions. They were both very friendly and very professional. Update: Weird events happened that first encounter with these folks. Most of what was said was true, but crazy how they pressure you into writing a review IN YOUR HOME! I basically wrote a bunch of stuff to get them out of my home. Considering that nobody read the first review, I don't know why I am updating this. Having people come into your home claiming that you have water damage by some machine that they bring into your home is kind of weird, but I went with it. My plumber recommended them and he is an awesome dude, so I figured that they were pretty legit. The contract is strange, very strange, indeed. It does say that if the home insurance does not pay, then the work will be done at no cost to you. I guess that is why they wanted to immediately rip up our floors so the adjuster didn't have the chance to see what they were talking about. When our State Farm dude came out, he said, "There is no signs of water damage in your kitchen floor. As a matter of fact, there is no pipe that runs where the other guy claims where the water came from." Fortunately, our State Farm agent was an absolute boss and handled it the right way, which was to err on the side of the homeowner and pay the folks. He knew something was weird and still was able to make everything happen. Our Kitchen floor was completely redone with the laundry and pantry being replaced as well. Also, our entire garage was fixed and completely repainted. This doesn't sound that bad does it? Well, for the most part it wasn't that bad, but the installers were pretty freaking rough. These items may not sound profound to you, but when you are planning to retire in your home, then you notice every knick and scratch. First we saw an immediate issue with one of the pieces of wood and told them to fix it. At the same time, the sent me a few emails letting me know that I had to sign a paper letting them know that the work was good - it wasn't. Then we noticed that those clowns didn't even nail the bottom pieces in. If I wouldn't have accidentally kicked one by the back door, then I don't know what I would have said to them months later. They removed our dishwasher, but damaged the bottom kick plate to where there is a gaping hole at the bottom now that looks bad. several pieces were not tacked down (found just recently). The garage wasn't even completed. And we just noticed that there were some bottom pieces that weren't even put down. Honestly, I'm not sure why we didn't notice some of the other things until later, but we will be sharks from now on when it comes to this stuff. The quality is OKAY, don't get me wrong, but for me having to go through the hooplah with the insurance and things like that - I expect a LOT better. The only reason I give it a two is because the people who ripped up the floor and put the equipment down did it pretty darn fast and cleaned pretty well. I do not fault Rob (our salesperson by the way), because he had to make several calls throughout the process and was being coached on the other end. Rob was awesome and I stand by the fact that he was genuinely cool, but the nature of the beast overpowered both him and I on the same page. In the end he did what he said he would do, which was remove the mold and replace some things even when they looked like they couldn't be replaced. They contract out the other work, so it isn't necessarily their fault but the companies they bring to the table. read more

i will give tidal wave response -5 . they don't deserve to be in business and abusing of a 90 years old lady like me in that way. i had a flood in my house 2 weeks after thanks giving . we called john and he sent albert benneth to my house.they were nice people until we said no to the upgrades. they saw the disaster and next day they came with his army of employees. the same day the adjuster came and tidal wave response employee identified has michael talk to the adjuster and told him he will send the documentation necessary for the claim. next day john t. myers(the owner of the company) came to talk to my son and his fiancee and he started to talk about upgrades and we said no. the only thing we want is to have the house as it was. so they started to slow down and make excuses with the insurance.. i'm a90 years old lady.. i had to move from my own house a month and half ago because my health is getting worst and worst...i can't be paying for that.... they try to put a lien in my house because my daughter in law wrote a bad review ...they start making promises that they will fix the damage because we have a contract with them that it said they will take care my house and fixed has it was before because that is his guarantee and they knew that they were wrong because what they did to me. it has been 8 months already and i'm looking for tidal wave response to came back to my house and fix what they did. john t. myers is not a man of honor and his employees are scam!!! i'm no taking this review from here until you fix my house. i don't deserve to be out of my house !! it is very upset... please do not hire them!!! read more
