I used Tide Cleaners in Sarasota for years and had great experiences, which is why I continued using Tide after moving to Brandon. Unfortunately, the Brandon location has been a complete disappointment. I brought in an investment piece I wear as a corporate trainer. The dress and matching belt are the same fabric and color and were cleaned together to maintain a consistent, rich black. Due to the Brandon location's boiler being down for several weeks, my items were transported to another location for cleaning. When they were returned, my matching belt was missing. I went back multiple times. They were unable to locate it. There was no resolution, no replacement, and no meaningful accountability. This is unacceptable, especially when customers are trusting you with high-quality, expensive clothing. The difference between the Sarasota and Brandon locations is stark. If you value your wardrobe, I would strongly recommend avoiding the Brandon Tide Cleaners and choosing a different location or a different cleaner altogether. read more

First- and last-time using Tide Cleaners Valrico on Bloomingdale Ave. I dropped off clothes that were urgently needed for a funeral and was assured they'd be ready in time. Instead, I got a last-minute text saying production was halted and my clothes wouldn't be ready until days after the service. My family had to attend the funeral without what we had planned to wear. When I finally picked up the clothes later and asked if any consideration could be made after I was just told none was going to be given on my $36 bill, the owner, told me in a condescending tone, "Oh no sir, let me take care of that for you but do me a favor and never come back." He said this in front of other customers. I assured him I would never step foot in this business again. Maintenance issues happen, but the lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic respect was appalling. Numerous bad experiences similar to Diona J and Linda noted here. The employees lack any basic courtesy and are simply quiet robots that just want to extract payment. They will give you a dirty look as you arrive and give you the Silent Treatment if you ask a question or make a comment. It is like almost 100% of the staff. They pretend that there is no manager on duty even if you ask for one. If you make a request, they will ignore you until you ask several times. Then they will report you sometimes to the owner/manager who will call you to complain about sending something back not cleaned and he will give you a rant and hang up on you without giving you a chance to explain your side of the story. Unbelievable! Paying a business just to get mistreated and to make you feel like a burden. Keep away and find a personable business as there are many other competitors to choose from. read more

We began using Tide cleaners as soon as they opened. Our previous cleaner lost our clothes more than once and the chemical smell was too strong. We have been very happy with how quickly they are able to have our clothes cleaned and returned. They set everything up online so that you are notified when your items are ready for pick up, it charges automatically so you don't spend extra time trying to pay making pick up and drop off quick. When you set everything up, you are able to pick up at their valet during any hour, and drop-off is always open. They also have coupons that are printed when you pick them up. If we ever did have an issue, as we had with our previous cleaner, I feel confident they would resolve it quickly. The staff has been very friendly, and the owners are very kind. I've used Tide Cleaners quite a few times in the past but this latest trip will be my last. On a few occasions, I've told them my last name and they can never find me in their system. Takes a few tries. I always show my 20% off coupon up front. This last time when I went the next day to pick up my order, I paid the astronomical price of $31 for 3 items and discovered that the coupon was never applied. When I asked about it they acknowledged it and told me I could receive credits for my NEXT order. When I asked for the manager, I received the same answer. I said, I want the credit back to my debit card for THIS order. She said she couldn't refund me as it takes 2 weeks for chargebacks with the bank. What?! I then told her to give me a cash refund. "I don't know if we can do that. I'll need to check." After going back inside, she says they can refund me. The refund would have been $6.19. She came back out with $6. So be careful, people. Their prices keep increasing, their turnover is high, and they scam you. read more

I'm curious if customers are aware that Tide somehow tracks the clothing items you bring in and associates them to YOU? I gave some clothing to a friend, and actually recommended Tide for anything they needed cleaned, especially if they had the new customer coupons. Today, they dropped off several items and their coupon, only to be called back later and told that two of the items had been cleaned there previously u Dee a different account and therefore they would not honor the coupon for those items. My friend explained that they had never used Tide before and the items were now theirs., was told again that since the items had been cleaned there before they were associated with someone else's account and didn't qualify for the new customer discount. Needless to say, the items were picked back up and taken around the corner to a less expensive but just as good cleaner. I don't know what they could possibly scan to track an item of clothing, but I find this both unsettling and ridiculous. Imagine donating clothing to a local charity where it's given to someone in need who takes it in to be cleaned and would be put through this.... how embarrassing that could be...?!? The cleaners the items were taken to after retrieving from Tide was just as shocked to hear the story. I do plan to research to determine how this type of tracking takes place and the legality of it, and Tide will not get any business from me again - and i will share this with everyone i know. This place has the best owners and customer service I have ever seen. True story just Friday night- first time using them and wife dropped off my clothes for a business trip to the Philippines last Saturday. We went to use the 24/7 auto pick up not knowing it required a credit card on file prior (our fault). The machine had a number to call and the owner picked up way after hours. Said he would be on his way out past 10 pm on a Friday night. This is the old school customer service and work ethic this country was build on. Just cannot say enough how I appreciated it. This time - and I gave specific repetitive instructions to NOT launder and only dry clean a hand made hand knit sweater made of cotton and alpaca. However when I went to pick it up today it was not ready because they washed it and it was not yet dry. Manager Barry if you are reading this, not charging me does not make this right.
