My husband and I witness the Service Advisor Jim Lohr Jr, handle an irrational customer with professionalism and gave the customer many options to consider to get her oil change completed. She became very verbally abusive towards Mr. Lohr, but he responded better than most under that kind of situation. Her poor husband was embarrassed and we could tell he was uncomfortable with the situation but had no control of his wife's verbal "displeasure" and that this was not the first time she tried to intimidate others. Tidelands Ford has a keeper in Jim Lohr. He kept his head while being attacked. He did not allow her to be put in front of other customers that were already waiting in the waiting room in front of her. Well done Sir! read more

Beware of buying 2025 Mustang Mach E electric vehicle here. We were told the car came with a 250 v charger with free installation. We have had the vehicle for over 6 weeks and the dealership is not taking any responsibility on the installation. When EMerit sent out a licensed installer they quoted us $1,584.00 for our responsibility saying the county needs a permit and drawings. This is however not true. Only if EMerit does the work. Ford advertises,"Enjoy a complimentary home charger with standard installation". There is a plan (A) that says complementary home charger and home installation. plan (B) $500 in cash. None of the options we explained to us. Now after researching this For Company Promise we called Tidelands Ford and asked for the $500. They do not answer our calls. The sales manager is BDBanks. He never follows up and avoids our calls. In my opinion this is a SCAM. Shame on this company deceiving the customer, just to sell an EV vehicle. Btw. In 2019, I paid a diagnostic fee for a driving noise, stating I believed it was a wheel bearing but to check everything. The dealership replaced the steering column at a cost of over $2,200. This did not resolve the noise. The dealership then refunded the $2,200 and charged me to replace the front wheel bearing. I chose to return to this dealership recently on the assumption that the 2019 incident was an isolated mistake.My 2011 F-150 was towed here for a 9:00 AM appointment after I called ahead to confirm scheduling availability. This truck is my primary means of transportation.Day 1: Vehicle delivered to the lot.Day 7: I called for an update. I was told the service advisor would call me back. I received no return call.Day 15: Having received no communication, I traveled there on my bicycle. The service advisor stated he had been attempting to call me for several days, yet my phone records show zero missed calls and zero voicemails. A diagnosis was generated. I was told the part would take 3 to 4 days, my truck would be prioritized, and they would keep me in the loop. I authorized the repair.Day 27: After 12 days of zero contact or updates, the service manager called and left a message.Day 28: I reached the service manager in the afternoon. He informed me that the required wiring harness was discontinued and they could not find the part. Went to see a vehicle on Sat that was listed online. Drove the whole lot at 11am looking for it. Didn't see it, parked then walked the whole lot without a single sales person coming out to help. Walked into the dealership, didn't see anyone until I got to the sales desk area. 3 sales people were talking amongst their selves. Again, no acknowledgement....saw the vehicle in the showroom. Walked around it twice looking at it throughly. Again no acknowledgement. I finally spoke up and asked if it was unlocked to look at. 5 min later a salesman came out from a diff side office to help. We went through the spiel and talked about financing. I saw they had a tracking device listed on the terms for 799.00. Sales person stated "they won't let us remove it". I asked what if I finance it myself? Same answer. Now why would I need Ford to charge me 800 bucks for a tracking device that I cant use and only Ford has access to?...after going back and forth about it. And the salesman not knowing how to ask his finance manager what we should do to make deal..the salesman stood up at his desk while I was still seated and trying to make a deal. He said, "well if you change your mind, lmk" as in he was trying to dismiss me from the dealership. For these reasons, I'll never buy or recommend this company to any other locals in the area!!! Had a light illuminating in my rented 2025 Explorer. Spend all day researching it online and most responses were that such number 8 on tachometer should not be lit, while car was idling or driven and right Side RPMs were in normal range. Did not want to drive car back to DC, 500 miles without being certain such presented no issue. I wanted to check out another similar year Explorer in person, and compare. Drove down to Tideland near closing time, cognizant of fact that any other time, could potentially cause salesman to lose a customer , while he was helping me with my non sales issue. I would never treat a potential customer the way we were treated today and I wouldn't buy a car from these people if they were the only dealer in the southeast! My daughter and I went to look at a used pick up truck on her birthday. The first thing I told the salesman was that I was going to buy a truck but I wasn't buying today. I had 3 models I wanted to look at and this was one of them. He immediately wanted to talk numbers. I reminded him that I was only looking at the truck today and wasn't ready to talk numbers. I had 2 more trucks that I wanted to look at before I make a decision. The sticker price was 60k so any sane person would look at all options before talking numbers or making a purchase decision. I didn't really care to drive the truck but my daughter wanted to so I told the salesman that I'd like to test drive it. He came back 2 mins later to let me know that his sales manager said that if I wasn't ready to talk numbers then he didn't want me "joy riding" in his pick up truck. Are you kidding me? I traded in my 2021 F-150 XLT for a new 2024 edition. During that time, a salesperson name John Clairmont, has been extremely rude. I ask one question, and he answers very condescending. I called Service to get a copy of an invoice for the $700.00 bill, for repairs to my 2021 Truck from an accident that occurred approximately on 17 Sept 2024. I have been getting the run-around. Also, my sales person, Michael, has not returned any of my calls. I need the bill (that they told me about) that would cost to fix the repairs on the vehicle, from the car accident. Also, the sales dept. seemed more interested in making the sale, than doing their due diligence to me. I was never shown the new features of the new 2024 F-150, and I never received the code to use to open the truck if I did not have the key. I did not get the new book for my vehicle. I would like to know what they are trying to hide. I have a friend in the Car Sales business. He said that there has been a rumor that some dealerships are skimming off the top. I have already made one complaint to Ford at the corporate level. I may be writing them a lengthy letter soon. Confirmed a service appointment 6 days in advance via https://www.tidelands.net/schedule.html for Check Engine light diagnostics; only to receive a call the day before the scheduled service to tell me that the online appointment scheduler is exclusively for QuickLane service and not for the service I required. I needed the service to happen this week in advance of a planned trip to Florida at end of the week; I was told their calendar is completely booked and appointments are typically scheduled 2 weeks out. I expressed disappointment not being advised of this when I originally booked the appointment so that I could have explored other options. Tidelands said all Ford dealer services are similarly busy, completely booked and I likely would not have had better result even if notified earlier. WARNING: Do not order a vehicle from Tidelands Ford. I placed a deposit ordered a 2021 F150 in September 2021 and never received any confirmation. In December when I knew orders were converting to 2022 I began asking questions. Almost immediately I received a new order confirmation from Ford which was slightly suspicious. When it arrived in June this unscrupulous group has done everything in their power not to sell it to me due to the increase in sticker price being so much higher than my locked in price at time of order. *They added on "non-negotiable" dealer options that I did not agree to on the order. When questioned about this they provided me an order form from December and said I signed and agreed to them. 1 problem! I never signed anything in December!!! Tidelands forged my signature on another order form with all of their dealer fees when they ordered the 2022 in December. I still do not know for sure if the vehicle was actually ordered in September. *They would not honor my price lock. *They "lost" my locked in 0% financing certificate. *They low balled me on my trade-in. *They refunded my deposit while "searching" for my 0% financing certificate, cut off communication and began offering the truck to other potential buyers and telling them they were immediately adding a leveling kit and tires to raise the price even more. Dealership Service Department is unreliable and incompetent. We took our vehicle in for recall issues and decided to have vehicle maintenance as well. I also mentioned that I had a slow tire leak and ask them to check it out while rotating my tires. They said they couldn't find a leak but said we needed new lug nuts, $200 worth, because the originals lug have expanded. The tire continued to leak. I took the car to Discount Tire and they immediately found a nail on the inside tread of the tire I was having an issue with. No way would they have missed it if they really checked. My husband and I purchased a used Navigator from Dave at Tidelands Ford. One week ago I would have given this review a 4 star review. Since we were purchasing this from another state they made it easy for us to see the car via video and photos. They did leave out the minor paint and body damage to the back bumper but it wasn't enough for me to decline purchase of the car. It just would have been nice to have known all the imperfections. Communication was great between us and Zach in financing. (In fact, Zach if I could give you five stars I would!) The reason for the one star is when we discovered after the vehicle was purchased that their multi-point inspection means crap to them. I had taken the car into the local Lincoln dealership here to fix a nail in my tire and found out the air filters will filthy! my service agent was appalled a dealership sold me a car and didn't replace the filters. I called Tidelands requesting they pay for the filters to be replaced. I found it only fair for them to take responsibility for not doing what we were told had been done. Save with Dave needed to check with the service manager and he'd get back to me. So here I wait, for him to get back. After not hearing from them for a few hours we call the service department and discover the service manager is not in for the day. Then Save with Dave tells me I'm at a shady dealership that just grabbed a dirty filter out of their own garage to show me to dupe me. Then it became that I created a dirty air filter because I drove to NC from FL the weekend prior. Basically anything and everything was said to prevent them from paying the $100 bill. I would like to share my service experience with any customer that is thinking about doing business with Tidelands Ford in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. I purchased a new 2021 Ford Escape. On June 30th, 2022 I had a service appointment to get a recall resolved. 2 hours later, the service manager and another employee came out to inform me that there was an accident with my vehicle. The whole back end including the bumper will have to be replaced. It is now 2 month later and nothing has been resolved. I have been getting the run a round every since. I have been calling the dealership, even checked in person on when this issue will be resolved. My phone calls are being send straight to voicemail when I call Tidelands Ford. Today, August 30th, 2022 I made another trip to speak to someone at the dealership about my car and the status on a resolution. I questioned the length of time and the different answers I get each time I check on the status of when my vehicle will be fixed. Talking to a Tideland service employee I was rudely interrupted by a guy that I found out later is the new owner of Tidelands Ford, Josh Bauer. I have not been spoken to or treating with such disrespect from anyone in a business environment. Is this because I am a woman? I stopped in to this dealership to look at a new model sedan. I was immediately greeted and assigned a salesman. Upon explaining that I was just looking and not going to buy in the immediate future, I was then handed off to a different salesman. I'm guessing I didn't deserve the attention of their good salesman if I wasn't serious. Once I re-explained my situation, he told me where on the lot I could find the car I was looking at, and left me on my own unable to check out the features or test drive. Buyer beware!! If you plan on purchasing any used vehicle from any Higginbotham Automobiles dealer, Mercedes of Jackson, Tidelands Ford Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz of Collierville. I purchased a used Mini with 60k miles for my daughter. After a brief discussion with John Clairmont the Internet Sales Manager, we decided on a price and got the purchase underway. I told John I couldn't make the trip there as I was out of town for a couple weeks but wanted the car shipped to my daughter. He said that the car needed to be inspected and detailed and then he would have it shipped. He explained that the "$400 bill on the deal sheet was part of the internal service part of there used car inspection, oil change, rotate tires and nitrogen service in tires". I asked after this service if the service tech found any issues. His response was "No sir they did not. I spoke with the master technician (Matt Daniels) that performed the used car inspection. All is well." Three days later the car was driven down by an employee with another following. I guess this is how they ship cars. When the car arrived, my daughter and wife met the driver and mentioned the car sounded loud. The driver's response was that he asked about this before he left but was told that it was fine. After I received this info, I told my wife to take it to Mini of Jacksonville and have a complete inspection done since I was starting to doubt the car was really inspected. I contacted John Clairmont the next day via text and told him about the loud noise and we were taking it in to have it looked at. His response was "We stand behind are used car inspectionon our vehicles. I am sure it is fine" The Mini dealership said the alternator's bearings were going out and pointed out a transmission gasket leak as well as a leak at the oil drain plug. $3300 in repairs! I sent the video from Mini with the issues along with the quote to John and his response was "I understand you feel like we should be responsible for this, but you bought the vehicle as is. We will not cover the cost of us" I then reached out and left a message with the General Manager for some guidance at this point. I then brought the car to a local private shop (I didn't want my daughter stranded on the side of the road) and had the alternator replaced at a lower cost at which time they pointed out the black oil they drained so they could replace the oil plug. It's hard to believe oil would turn black from the fresh oil change that was done before it left their dealership. After no response from the General Manager, I called back and found out he quit. I then asked for the next person in charge and was routed to BD Banks, Sales Manager. He told me that they do a safety inspection which verifies the car runs and drives as well as brakes properly, they DO NOT inspect anything else. So, the information from the Internet Sales Manager was false. The next day BD Banks called and said if I get the car brought to them, I would receive my money back but they wouldn't cover any repairs or expenses. So basically, it would cost me $1000.00 plus driving the car 300+ miles with someone following me so I can return home. At this point I was given the pleasure of exchanging emails with Joshua Bauer, Vice President of Retail Operations Higginbotham Automobiles. He basically had no empathy and told me I should have purchased their extended warranty. Still to this day, I have not asked for any compensation, However, I would expect a reputable company would offer some kind of assistance and own up to their false information. I have since brought the car back to Mini and had the transmission gasket replaced. I would expect this kind of customer service from a small no name dealership, but Mercedes, Ford, Lincoln??? Is this what customer service has come to? I work for a high-end custom home builder and own a small electrical contracting company, in my 20+ years of doing business, I can't image trying to treat any of my clients this way. Especially over a $12k car. My reputation means more than trying to make a few dollars. Bottom line, if you do plan on purchasing a used vehicle from these dealerships, I would STRONGELY recommend taking the vehicle to a real mechanic and have it inspected by someone that knows what they are doing. Asking was $24k, we counter offered 20k (there were 7k miles unaccounted for and no one wanted to say how that happened) and we were told that was an insulting offer. TO THE CUSTOMER. They then proceeded to belittle and insult my mother on the floor in front of everyone. Needless today this in no longer a community dealership. The sales rep who helped us was originally was wonderful. The sales manager however was condescending, rude, insulting, and belittling. They only came back for a $1000 off the sticker price. Understanding that this is a business and they make the price. However, as a prime car purchaser and former car sales woman, I would never handle a customer with such attitude. After five years of leasing two vehicles decided to purchase the 2016 MKX off the lease. Prior to deciding spent several hours with John trying to find a MKX with the features I wanted. One was located in Jacksonville FL. After considering another lease versus buying I went with my first option and purchased the leased MKX. I took my Lincoln, still under warranty, to Tidelands Ford, where I bought it, with a noise in closing the sunroof. They informed me that they needed to order a part and they would call to setup an appointment in a couple of days when the parts came in. Three weeks later I called and talked with B and he said that the part wasn't in. A week later I took the car in for an oil change and ask Jim about the part. To his credit went on a mission and found the part. It had been there for a while but apparently B didn't want to work to hard to find it. I was told that they were farming out the repair to a local trim shop. I took the car to Tidelands, they gave me a loaner and said that it would be done in two days. At the end of the second day I called and talked to B who said, " they haven't called to say it's ready" and rudely cut me short. After a week I called back again and talked with T and again was told that "they" haven't called us. To this point I don't know who they are. When I pressed him he said, " Well I guess I could call them." I said, " yes please check on it." He said he'd call me back. After an hour I called again and could only get the service voicemail. I called again and B answered and hung up on me. I called back again and left a voicemail that if they couldn't find my car then I call the sheriff and see if he could find it. Fifteen minutes later I got a call from Jim, the only person who seem to care about customer service, and said they would be picking my car up and that he would call me when it was back at the dealership. All I was looking for was a status report. Hello, I went to Tidelands Ford Lincoln because I wanted to buy a Ford Flex for my pregnant wife because see needed a larger vehicle with a third row seat. She loved her Ford Fusion, so another Ford was ideal. We did our research and test drove a flex locally, but Tidelands was the only Ford Dealer near us with a blue Ford Flex. We drove down there and bought the blue Ford Flex. Everyone was very nice to our faces that day and they made a point of telling us they where a no pressure car dealership. We traded in the old Fusion with 200,000 miles and got 600 buck for it (not much). When we got home, we realized that a panel on the Flex was cracked. We called and they told us to bring it back and they would fix it and give us a rental on the meantime which was great. When my wife showed up to drop the Flex off, she felt like she was being harassed about the car title for the old fusion. We where trying to get the title, but it was cosigned by her father who lived in ND, so it was taking a little time to move through the mail. When I arrived to check on my wife, she was crying and upset for being harassed about this car title that she had already spent hours trying to get for them. I don't like to see my pregnant wife crying over harassment, so I went in to complain about her treatment. I was very upset, but I did not yell or cuss. I spoke with a customer representative and left. It then took Tidlands Ford over a week to repair the cracked panel because they only have one person that can do body work and that person was down in Georgetown. I was fine with that, whatever, it's fine that hey outsource there body work, no big deal as long as it is fixed right? I was very excited when I got home from work to see the blue Ford Flex in the driveway and not the rental! My wife told me that Tidelands had sent a driver to our house to drop off the Flex and pick up the rental which is great! She then told me that the driver who brought the car said that he was told "Not to arrive before 9 or we would shot him". After she told me this, I realized that everyone at Tidelands Ford Lincoln has been talking about us behind our backs for the last week or so. I guess this is a big joke to them, ha ha ha, but I am not laughing. I spent $30,000.00 at the dealership a week ago. The service department does not get back to you, they have very few loaners, only picked up the car and dropped off (as part of Black Label service) once I insisted. Service people are nice, except Mandy- who is very rude and does not know what customer service means. I love the vehicle, so this is not saying anything about Lincolns. Also, I was told at lease inception that I should get the 10K lease rather than the 12K lease because Lincoln doesn't care about excess mileage as long as you lease or buy a new Lincoln at lease end....BOLD FACE LIE!! When I wrote a letter expressing my displeasure, I was told by the supposed new owner...and I quote, "we're a new owner of this dealership and if you buy groceries at Bi-Lo and they go out of business and Food Lion takes over, you can't return your groceries to Food Lion." ....seriously!!! You're not Bi-Lo or Food Lion and you are still doing business as Tidelands Lincoln!! I think when you buy an existing business and continue to do business as Tidelands Lincoln, you bought the assets and the liabilities and are responsible for the lies and unethical practices of the salespeople in your employ. I will NEVER do business with Tidelands Lincoln and will not recommend them to anyone else....and I'm sure Bi-Lo and Food Lion would have treated me better. read more

The service department is awesome. They are honest, fast,and reliable. I brought my Ford Edge in with my 8 yr old daughter after calling that day and within minutes they were working on my car fixing my battery and we were waiting for a mere 20 minutes. Also during my waiting time they made me a new master key rite on the premises. They listened to me and delivered. They were so fast and accurate and when u have ur kid with u no one wants to sit around in the lounge all afternoon waiting for ur car to get fixed. Great job! read more

I have nothing but high praise for the service department at Tidelands Lincoln in Pawleys Island, SC especially Patrick Moree their service manager. I recently had a couple of problems with my Lincoln Navigator Reserve. One serious one and one less serious but bothersome to someone like myself who takes a great deal of pride in the appearance of his vehicles. After 3 different attempts to completely rectify the major problem over a period of several months, Pat took ownership of it and worked with the Lincoln representatives and the Lincoln engineers to find a resolution. As for the several times my car was in the shop for this and the other problem he and the service people where very accommodating making sure I had a loaner to drive. This is my seventh Navigator. The last three I have purchased from Tidelands finding their pricing to be competitive and their service outstanding. Although with all its new bells and whistles it is the nicest one I've owned I don't think it will be the last. read more

Quick Lane told me 45 to 60 minutes for an oil change and tire rotate. After an hour and a half I'm still waiting. Not a quick lane!!

When you ask them to complete the recalls they never seem to know when, how or why the recall was issued. Use Beach Ford, Myrtle Beach instead.
