This latest is an example. Called at dinner last night for an emergency appointment due to a cracked tooth. The lady on the phone was very friendly, got it all set up. However, when I walked in today there was NO record of my appointment. Fortunately, the staff got me in right away anyhow, and the service there was flawless as always. This isn't the first time we've had problems. In fact, about 3 out of the last 5 times my wife went in they'd screwed up the time and/or date. It's very frustrating, especially when taking time off from work.

Unlike other medical offices, instead of waiting for the bill to be processed, they charge upfront. From other complaints, that I have read, Tidewater usually gets the billing wrong.I have an overpayment that they refuse to reimburse. I went into the office and they told me they only do credit. After some talking, they agreed to cut a check within a month. A month had passed and no check. Every time I call the office, the only person that can handle the issue is in a meeting or on break. I looked up Tidewater Dental on the BBB website and they have a grade of F for billing. Check your EOB and verify that you weren't overcharged.

After he left the dental clinic that he was working at and until he opened his own practice I remained completely dentist-less. Couple months later I found Dr. Yazdan's clinic on Google Maps and was so relieved that my dentist problems are over! Even though he is located way further from me than the clinic he used to work at, I'd rather drive to his clinic than go to somebody I don't trust. Big difference in trying to charge me $300 for something when I only had to pay $50 (this happened more than once). They don't like it when you call your insurance company either to find out what you're really supposed to pay. When my insurance company started questioning them about the charges, the dentist office dropped me and my family as patients and refunded me for all the money that was overpaid. Funny, I guess if I had not dug deep enough to find out actual cost, they would have pocketed the extra money that they charged me every single time. I must say out of all the medical appointments I have and had in my lifetime, dental appointments were the hardest for me until Dr. Watts became my dentist. He makes visiting the dentist very easy because he is gentle and patient. After he greets you and makes you comfortable, Dr. Watts will provide information about the dental work he is performing before, during and after the procedure. At least 10 years ago, I went to sleep in his chair and I was so embarrassed. He said it was okay. It happens. I have never fallen asleep in a dental chair no matter how tired I was. I was also too tensed to even relax before I started going to Dr. Watts. Another example, whenever I needed a shot for numbing, I did not feel that needle going deeply into my jaws and he also got it right the first time. This was a rare experience for me. Last, today, I got a crown and he informed me I had one before departing to see his next patient. I asked the front desk if I needed to return for the crown. They went to consult him about the crown. I already had the crown. I am so happy about the smoothness of this crown that I had to write this review.
