The customer service is absolutely awful, the staff are rude and completely unprofessional, and they act like they don't care at all about their patients. They never answer the phone, never return calls, and it's literally impossible to get through to anyone. They constantly overcharge, send bills for things that were never even done, and lie about what insurance will cover just to squeeze more money out of you. It's a complete scam. Everyone in my family is leaving Konikoff. I am genuinely concerned for any patient that goes here because of how dishonest and careless they are. I wouldn't recommend Konikoff to my worst enemy.

Enough already. I then requested a note on my account to never schedule us with her again. The next one I got also lectured me. I tried to brush it off and even requested another note put on our accounts to stop lecturing us. Our most recent visits, mine was okay, but they told my 16-year-old son that his teeth are going to fall out if he doesn't start brushing better. I totally get it, but I have never in my life, even as a child, had a dentist tell me my teeth are going to fall out. He was really upset about that and how the visit went overall for him. My 19-year-old son just had his appointment and told me they told him the same thing along with some other negative things, and he was also very upset and scared to death. After sharing my experiences with him about the negativity and constant lecturing, he said he also overheard conversations of patients next to him in which they were being told this is wrong, that is wrong, go see this specialist, etc. I completely understand that we need to know if there are issues with our teeth, but again, in all the dentists I've been to throughout my whole life, I have never, ever experienced such negativity and lecturing as I have with Konikoff over the past four or five years we've been with them. I have to trust my gut instinct in thinking something just isn't right here. We will be canceling our future appointments and seeking care elsewhere. And, no, I don't want to contact the office directly because I've decided our relationship with Konikoff has come to an end.

So when I go in two weeks ago for a crown, I was told incorrectly over the phone what I was to expect for the appt., being told one day for the procedure, and then in person that it would be a two visit process. The doctor, I assume, never introduced herself, asked me and hour later after I was in the room waiting, "are you ready to get this party started?" She then explains I'm going to get a "tree stump," IOWs, a post, I know this from a previous tooth. Tells me I'm going to have a plastic cap for 3 weeks while the crown is being made, and it will be mailed to me, not the office, for the second visit. Red flags galore, over an hour late in seeing I. The room, unprofessional interaction, godawful office space, didn't look remotely current with the equip. Staff coming in and out rummaging for supplies as I waited. No apology for being late. Officer manager quotes me 4 weeks until the second visit, contradicting whomever spoke to me prior. Spider sense, gut feeling, fight or flight, I said no thanks, and left. I went to a different dentist that is out of network and it was well worth the money. Don't skimp just because the dentist is covered by your insurance. Go with who's great, not sure hat obviously felt like to was going to be a horrible experience.

Today's visit had Dr. Gray removing all of my uppers (only 11 left) for partial dentures. I am going through alot in my personal life & this visit had me more anxious than when I found out my complete 3rd degree heartblock, my incarcerated hernia or even my right lung PE. I was so nervous that it made me physically ill. I am not a worrier, except for today. I asked Dr Gray how he was feeling and told him that I said a prayer for him and his crew. Initially I had alot of pain but I am 11 hours post op and the bleeding has stopped and I have very little pain. His staff really make you feel as if they are a member of your family. Everyone is kind, gracious and caring. I couldn't recommend Dr Gray enough. And just like that last time, Keisha called after I had been home for a bit to see how I was doing. This level of care and customer service is hard to find.

I am very familiar with text/ email reminders, or confirmations of medical appointments, but I have never experienced a policy like this one that literally cancels your appointment two days before. What if people are working or traveling and don't get the message until after 3pm? Also, maybe this was in the fine print, but I was never informed of such a ridiculous policy. I also don't appreciate the limited hours of operation. Maybe it works for a stay at home house wife, but for anyone running a business, or working long hours it's just not convenient, or practical. Another issue is that they require you to pay up front for services, and then you have to wait for your insurance to reimburse you. Another inconvenience. Finally, they have made a lot of investments in new technologies, such as the sonic cleaner and they require/ prefer for you to use the uncomfortable devices, even when you request hand scaling. At my last cleaning I asked the hygienist if she could just do hand scaling because the sonic device is uncomfortable and causes more TMJ pain. Her response was, "why don't we compromise and do half and half." It made me feel pressured to concede, and likely she is being pressured/ encouraged to use this device on patients. I'm sure Coastal Cosmetic Dentistry has plenty of business, and lots of 5 star reviews, but it's hard to imagine that I'm the only patient that's been put out by the items mentioned above. You might want to at least give your patients a heads up that you require a response two days before your scheduled appointment to keep the appointment.

This last 4 years of going here has been a nightmare . My temporary work was very badly done, the cheap temporary caps were so flimsy, the amount of cracks, and chips on temporary material exposing the real tooth. Had a tongue tie surgery at 41, requested the day of surgery for ongoing plan and myofunctional therapy/ any issues that may arise after. Was told there was nothing needed as I'm an adult...after months of further issues, called back using the referral that I already have in place, refused service and told they do not recommend any of those therapies to patients unless explicitly asked. Which I did ask the day of surgery and it was not documented. The nurse then acted like I was the problem for being upset and attempted to hang up on me after asking me further questions, simply asking for proper documentation to take to the VA. Told their clinic does not do that and never has. How can a surgery clinic not put in requests or recommendations for proper follow up care after surgery? Or at least acknowledge the frustration without making it completely worse before blaming me- citing their staff is new and doesn't understand the process. Train your people. Document properly when patients ask about these issues before being upset that they are upset because you refuse to schedule or send documentation to the VA.
