This was a worst-case scenario. The installation used very expensive white marble from Ann Sacks…read morewith white epoxy grout from a company called Laticrete. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that their white grout can have a tendency to turn yellow over time. I also later learned that many professional tile installers refuse to use Laticrete white epoxy grout because of this issue. Because epoxy grout cures as hard as cement, the problem was extremely difficult to fix. To make matters worse, the contractor who originally installed it refused to fix the problem. I spoke with several professionals and was told that the only options were either to remove and replace all of the tile or use a grinder to remove the yellowed grout, which could chip and damage the marble. After doing extensive research, including using ChatGPT, Sir Grout was recommended as the best company for the job. There was only one person at Sir Grout who had both the experience to remove Laticrete epoxy grout and the willingness to take on such a challenging project. His name is David, and he is awesome. Not a single tile was damaged during the process, and he used a different manufacturer's white grout that will not turn yellow. Sir Grout also provides a one-year written guarantee on the grout work. In addition, the white tile itself had begun to show yellow staining, and Sir Grout was able to remove almost all of those stains as well. Needless to say, I will be using Sir Grout enthusiastically for any and all future projects involving tile or grout. "$8,844.00 is paid to Sir Grout Seattle, LLC. Given what I know now, I would never use this company…read more I asked Seal Team One to come and provide me an estimate for some tile sealing work at my home. I didn't end up doing the work but 15 months later, I was ready to go forward with one of the rooms I had previously asked them to estimate and two newly remodeled rooms- so, it was a new estimate for work, and I was planning to use Seal Team One for the work. They sent a technician who took about 10 minutes to measure the rooms. The following day, I received the estimate and was surprised to see the total costs, especially since the same room from last year was now twice as much this year. I politely asked a few questions of their customer service representative, and she said the previous estimate had been in error and this new one was correct. I thanked her and her company for the time but that the costs were too much and I won't be accepting their bid. Their customer service representative could not have been more rude, and told me to look elsewhere for tile sealing in the future, and that I wasted their technician's valuable time. Given the estimate, I'd say their technicians time must be very valuable. Hard to believe that this is a service company. So, if you are looking for a business where people with no social or business skills are in charge of customer service, then by all means, go to Seal Team One. I must assume that this individual reflects the company's culture, and I am so glad that I found this out before a signed a contract to pay them almost $4,000 to seal my tile. You should avoid this company at all costs!
