You can rent out the whole place or one of the many gorgeous room. Secured locked doors with a code that only guests know ensures safety is first. On the second floor there are a variety of 5 rooms to choose from. Some have an en suite bathroom and kitchen. One room has a bathroom adjacent in the hall and leads to a kitchen area and living space. Full kitchen comes with anything you need including utensils, cutlery, and even those condiments you forgot! There is also a balcony with tables chairs and grill. If you get the penthouse on the third floor you won't be disappointed! Huge full kitchen with amenities like the second floor Kitchen. Huge living area with comfy couches and large dining table. 2 bed rooms can sleep 4. The huge balcony with tables and chairs provides an amazing view of the Clark bridge and Mississippi River. This place is within walking distance of many great Alton eateries and shops. Also only a 16 minute drive to Grafton or Edwardsville for for entertainment. One drawback is the parking. No dedicated lot so it's only street parking. There are dedicated spaces out front and side parking is available too. We cannot wait to come back and utilize this space again! *Wasn't able to picture of all the rooms just mine*

I told him I was visiting my handicapped daughter who stairs would not be safe for. Mike told me it was beautiful loft called the love Joy. Nothing beautiful here.

They were booked so Jim, the owner to,d me they owned this place, the George Street Suites, and offered it as an alternative. Sure! I said. And he charged me $139 bucks a nifght for two nights. What a DUMP! The place stunk of must and cigarette smoke. The couch had huge rips in it and the furniture looked like something they got off the sidewalk. I turned on the water and a bunch of brown came put if the faucet. I asked if Jim if we could cancel our following nights stay and get a refund. Jim agreed and I told him what we found. The Inn has the same warm and homey feel to it as it was with Connie and Gary. They have converted the "antique" room to a game room and filled it with board games ( or bring your own.) The common area with the fireplace and the comfy couch and chairs is perfect after a day of hiking a Pere Maquette or exploring Grafton. The rooms are cozy and very clean. My friend and I stayed in the Meadowlark Room, featuring two full beds and a shower/tub. The room was immaculately clean, quiet, and adorably antiquated. Connie and Gary could not have not been kinder or more hospitable hosts. Breakfast was lovely, and hot and cold beverages were available in the common area along with Connie's delicious homemade treats -- she even insisted on packaging up brownies for us to take on the road when we departed! When visiting, do ask Connie and Gary for instructions on how to take a self-guided driving tour of nearby Principia College, which features many amazing buildings by architect Bernard Maybeck and stunning views from the bluffs of the Mississippi River. I'll be looking for an excuse to return to Elsah for another stay at Green Tree Inn... Highly recommended!

We stayed for 4 nights on the morning of our 2nd day we walked out to a flat on our car, while we were still looking and thinking of calling AAA , Tom came out went and got jack had our tire off, took it to town got it fixed and put back on in less than 35 minutes later we were off to meet family. The day was incredibly hot and he acted like it was no big deal. They would not even take anything for there time and trouble. The place itself is quite quaint and comfortable and when we come back to visit we will definitly stay again. Kudos Norma and Tom for a having a great place to stay.

The highlight is that there is a beautiful gazebo next to the house with a hot tub, available 24 hrs. We stayed in the "Lakeview Studio", a second story room/suite with a separate entrance (numeric keycode). The property is actually on a farm, near a field which was currently mostly flooded. 10 minute drive from Edwardsville, IL, 20 minute drive from St. Louis. Room was very private and comfortable, with a full bed, small living/dining area and kitchenette (studio apartment style), and private bathroom with shower/tub. Many windows and charming quaint decor. The hosts are a retired woman and her adult son - we had a nice chat with the woman, who was super friendly, accommodating, and casual. Prices were reasonable/comparable to other options. They offer a homemade breakfast but we opted to go out instead. The heater in the room has a loud fan, and the house is within earshot of the freeway and railroad tracks so there is some ambient/background noise (but nothing beyond what would occur at usual hotels near freeway). The room has a lot of quaint religious items, such as a print of Jesus above the bed, and little knick-knacks with religious sayings. If this sort of thing bothers you, you won't want to stay here. Although we are not religious, it did not bother us - as I said, the owner was super nice, friendly, easy going, and I think would be easy to talk to regardless of your religious background/beliefs. Free wifi and a fridge stocked with waters and can sodas, plus coffee maker and tea bags. She even left us a snack when we arrived (bowl of fresh grapes, plate of crackers, bowl of spreadable cheese)! Overall a great experience.

I can't check in before 4p because the system won't allow her to do it, plus the rooms were being cleaned but she will call me when the room is ready. 2). Around 1:40p and said the room was ready but when I tried to check in she said her system was down and that I'll have to fill out the paperwork. Fine. I gave her my ID and she says because I'm from Missouri I have to pay an additional $200 fee and it can only be cash. Now I'm on I've league scholar but I know when I'm being played because as soon as I walked out, a $253 transaction was attempted on my account from Best Western Plus. Now how is that possible if the systems were down as she said prior. Never going back to that hotel.

We later on figured that there was a bunch of kids having a party in the room right above us. I've seen some of them couple times whenever I go down to the lobby to grab my doordash orders. We tried to be understanding and considerate and let them have fun even though we can barely get any sleep. Not to mention that we just had an exhausting flight from Alaska and this is our first visit in St. Louis because of some military business I need to take care of. Around 9:30 o'clock in the evening, noise became worse as it almost seemed like they were purposely jumping and stomping around. Since they are kids and I wasn't sure if there was even any adults watching them. I've decided to come down and talk to the front desk agent to kindly ask if he can check or call that room to tell them to at least turn it down a little bit because they have been causing disturbances for hours --people are trying to sleep. But instead, the front desk clerk rudely told me to go to their room and tell them myself. While I was there, one of the kids came down to get popcorn. The clerk added "there you go, tell him" and laughed. Very unprofessional. I went back to our room and decided to book a different hotel and leave. We had to pack up and leave at 10pm with our toddler. The room cleanliness wasn't already there. Being treated bad was what made our family's whole experience worse. Would rate ZERO stars if I can!
