Tiny place but donuts were delicious. The workers had a big smile on my face and that was great. Will definitely come back.

Always great donuts. Best crueler donuts in the valley! It's a classic donut place, nothing fancy, but always great!

Your neighborhood Italian deli, bakery and market all in one place!…read more Cavaretta's Italian Deli is an east coast style Italian deli that brings back a bit of nostalgia with old school vibes! They've been serving their loyal customers in the San Fernando Valley since 1959! Handmade meatballs and marinara sauce, that's simmered for 7 hours. Lasagna that's made from scratch daily. You can't beat their popular Italian Sub so of course we had to order that! Picked up a couple old school Italian sandwiches for our Hollywood Bowl show. Of course, we couldn't leave without their housemade Tiramisu and Carrot Cake Bar. Trust me, definitely worth it! Don't skip out on their cannolis and other desserts. There's a little market inside and seating. Perfect for a picnic or catering your next event!

Well, Well, Well…read more... It appears that my 23&Me ancestry composition has been recently updated and as of today, you are now looking at a 7.1%, Pure, Italian Stallion. Yeah, I too always thought I looked like a young Joe Pesci... Ha! Hey, Fugheddaboudit!!!! Hey, hate me for my ways, but blood is blood and I'm going to run with this Italian thing for as long as I can. And just as my "old Italian Nonna" might have said, had I actually had one... "O mangi la minestra o salti la finestra" But being that I am less than 10% actual Italian blooded, and me not actually having a Nonna who would probably just yell crazy things at me in Italian, I'll just stick to the little Italian that I actually know..... The Food!!!! Yeah give me.... A little meatballs slathered in marinara covered in melted provolone... Or Some thinly sliced prosciutto, mortadella, capicola on some crusty Italian bread... Or even... A square of lasagna with Italian sausage, mozzarella, ricotta, Romano cheese served with a chilled San Pellegrino to wash it all down... And you'd be 100%, not 7.1% correct, that I would enthusiastically rep my Italian heritage and proudly wave the colors of my National flag... The Red, The White & The Bl.... Errr, I mean Green! ;) Yes, I can admittedly get behind Italian food any day of the week and I know my "Nonna" would be proud. Well thankfully, you don't have to go all the way back to the Motherland to visit your Nonna and experience the old world eats of a little place called Italia! Cause Cavaretta's Italian Deli has all your Deli needs and wants covered. Yep, a San Fernando Valley staple since 1959, this spot has been and continues to be the place to grab the Best Italian sandwich (according to the Daily News) this side of the Colosseum (according to me, Lance L.). But the cocoa powder on top of the Tiramisu (aka the cherry on top)... This deli has an Italian Grocery shop with everything you need to make your real or made up Nonna proud back in your kitchen. So, forget about waiting around for your 23&Me results to come back and just get your little pasticcino buns over to Cavaretta's and live like the Italiano's do! Ciao Bella!

If your looking for a real sub look no further A friend…read moretold me about Cricca's Deli & being a big fan of Sub's I had to check this place out. Let just start with Cricca's Deli makes some seriously well-crafted sandwiches. The quality really stands out -- generous portions of meat, fresh vegetables, and great attention to detail in every bite. You have several choices of bread, and I went with the soft roll, which tasted bakery-fresh and was the perfect match for the sandwich. The large subs are truly large -- easily big enough to share between two people. If you're looking for a deli sandwich made with fresh ingredients and generous portions, Cricca's is definitely worth a visit. If you in the area or looking for a high quality sandwich you have to check this place out - you will not be disappointed. I'll be back For Sure

Ok. I've seen this place online and thought to myself "if I'm ever in Woodland Hills, I'm going…read morehere". Well.....today was the day. It's a small Italian deli that hits the way you want it to. To the right as soon as you walk in, there's seats and a table where you can wait for your to go order or to eat there. The entire shop was clean, neat and orderly. It's sensory overload walking in. There's a lot going on. The menu is massive. I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it. The 3 ladies that were working the front counter (around noon on 4/23) were the best. Just an all around great experience and fantastic food. I'll be back soon FOR SURE!!!!

After one of the most emotionally exhausting weeks our family has ever endured, we found ourselves laughing in disbelief after being chased away by a rattlesnake at Las Virgenes Creek. Sometimes life has a funny way of reminding you that the best stories are never the ones you plan. Still carrying that adrenaline--and the weight of everything the week had brought--we made our way to Mendocino Farms in Calabasas, hoping for nothing more than a peaceful dinner. What we found was something far more meaningful. Our little girl, Pinta, had just celebrated her 17th birthday. To most people she's "just a dog." To us, she's family... our little strawberry. She's been courageously battling health issues, and after days of worry, tears, and countless prayers, there was one tiny victory worth celebrating: She wanted to eat. Without hesitation, one incredibly kind young gentleman--whose name I wish I could remember--prepared a fresh chicken dinner especially for her. It wasn't extravagant. It wasn't complicated. It was simply... kind. And somehow, that simple act became the most important meal served in the restaurant that evening. Watching her happily nibble on fresh chicken, stop for a sip of cool water, then come back for another bite felt like watching hope return one mouthful at a time. My partner and I couldn't stop smiling. After days of wondering what tomorrow might bring, we were finally allowed to simply enjoy today. What struck me wasn't just one employee--it was the entire team. There was no feeling that we were inconveniencing anyone. No rushed interactions. No obligation. Just genuine hospitality. Every smile felt sincere. Every conversation felt personal. Every moment reminded us that great restaurants don't just feed people... They care for them. I often think businesses spend enormous amounts of time trying to create memorable guest experiences, when in reality they're created by people who choose kindness in moments no handbook could ever script. If someone from Mendocino Farms' leadership happens to read this, I hope you know something: Whatever culture you're cultivating in Calabasas is working. Your team didn't simply serve dinner. They unknowingly became part of one of our family's favorite memories. Years from now, I doubt we'll remember exactly what we ordered. But we'll always remember the night our little strawberry smiled over a plate of chicken... and how a group of strangers made us feel like we belonged. Some restaurants leave you full. The very special ones leave your heart a little fuller, too. Thank you, Mendocino Farms. Thank you for reminding us that kindness is still the finest ingredient anyone can serve.

When coming here to order for takeout, it was jam packed crowded and so many people came in/out to order to go. They have signed pics on the wall of celebs. Clearly this is the place to go in town for a sub. Can we talk about their menu? I've never seen such an extensive sub menu before! They literally have something for everyone and then some. We split two subs - one classic italian and one mamma mia. Both regulars and we asked them to cut it in half. Two regulars shared between two people was plenty of food. You can customize the order by adding on or removing the toppings you want and you can get the subs on either white or wheat bread; the default is white. We brought the subs home and ate it there and I appreciated that the bread wasn't soggy at all. The subs really held up. The italian was good and I liked it with the addition of the dijon mustard but I'd be curious to try another one out in the future, maybe the spicy italian or something else. The mamma mia was loaded with toppings and it was definitely more of the standout sub between the two. Happy to have finally tried this place out!
