While in the area for an event, we popped in for a casual dinner. While the aestetic of the restaurant wasn't much to the eye and definitely more of a takeout vibe, the service was beyond pleasant and welcoming (accompanied by bouts of singing) and the food was delicious. We shared the garlic naan, perfect for dipping in the saag sauce from my shrimp saag, and also shared the gobi manchurian which was crispy hand had the perfect balance of savory and spice. Tiffin in Bryn Mawr has become my go-to place for dinner. It stays open later, it's consistently good and the server that's always there is so nice and he often times sings while working so it's a free show...haha. My last visit there we had the Biryani with chicken and Goan Curry with chicken. Both were excellent! I was nervous the Goan Curry was gong to be on the sweeter side which wasn't what I wanted. The server discussed the flavors with me and told me if I didn't like it he'd give me something else. He did check in to see what I thought after we tasted it which was so thoughtful. I generally like Tiffin as it is meant to be, an Americanized experience of traditional foods. Modest in spice but pretty good. I've ordered Vindaloo extra spicy, and they can get it there! My stars would normally be 4, but the online ordering for pick up simply snafu-Ed. I placed a sizable order at 3pm online for 7pm pickup. I was in a movie across the street from 4-6:45 so the timing was perfect. Except on the receiving end, they saw I ordered for a 10 pm pu and that I ordered at 6pm, which was when I was on the movie. It worked out. I had to wait (which is why I ordered to avoid) 15-20 minutes. I had a screenshot of my confirmation that showed 7 PM pick up, so I'm not sure what happened, but the smirk on the person's face who was working there, so it really ticked me off. I've ordered delivery and also ate in the restaurant. The food is good, the aesthetic is alright. Service in the restaurant is quick and friendly. Delivery can be hit or miss. Sometimes they're really delayed in delivering my order? But then they send extra naan or something. If you have to get one dish, I'd say get the butter chicken. read more

There's plenty of parking nearby, and it's right on Lancaster Ave in the downtown area. Each of us ordered a dish, and the experience was great overall. The food came out quickly, and all the food tasted good. We had chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, dal, and chicken vindaloo. The vindaloo was delicious and had some nice kick, but unfortunately I did find a few strands of hair in it. Everything tasted great, and they were generous with the rice! I ordered the dal tadka (yellow lentils), a far deviant from my usual chicken tikka. It was a real wildcard for me b/c I never had it before, but no regrets whatsoever! The blend of sugar, coconut, and raisins was decent but the bread itself was on the thick side. 7. kheer: solid and creamy but not overly sweet. Overall, it's decent but nothing to rave about. My son and I love Tiffin, we've been coming here for years. The saag paneer is one of my favorite vegetarian meals. And my son, who is a picky eater as they come, gets the chicken kabob and raps it with the naan and rice and makes his own little meal. Food was good, but they got my order wrong. I like Tiffin. I ordered to-go from here a few days ago. I ordered 2 lamb kormas, one medium one mild. What I got was 2 fairly spicy chicken kormas.
