I've ordered takeout from here before, but this was my first time dining in, and we had a great experience! Located in Bryn Mawr on Conestoga Rd, there is a private lot and street parking available. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. We were greeted by a friendly server before we even stepped inside. The host station is right inside and we were welcomed warmly once again. They offered us our choice of inside/outside seating. Being our first time there we wanted to see the interior. I mentioned this and they gave us a great table upstairs overlooking the restaurant. The store is decorated with a lot of Italian transportation...small cars and Vespas. I loved the high ceilings, and the upper level seating. They also have a huge TV on the wall, and decorated for the 2026 World Cup, despite Italy not qualifying! Our server, Alex, was very personable despite being busy with a large bday gathering and several other tables. He made us feel welcome as he went over the specials and took our orders. I got the chicken Parmesan which is my goto litmus test, while my date got the beet salad with grilled chicken. The food arrived promptly and looked and tasted delicious. My chicken parm was yummy, crispy chicken with melted cheese over delicious spaghetti! The beet salad was also well received. We saw several tables getting some delicious bread and asked for a basket. I thought it may be complimentary however it was 8$ a basket. They make it in house and drizzle it with olive oil. Served with some fresh rosemary and soft butter, it was delicious and well worth the price, just don't fill up on it! We were pressed for time so turned down their house made gelato, however we passed the gelato station on the way out and regretted this decision, it looked amazing! I mentioned to Alex that my entree was delicious but what set the restaurant apart was the service and atmosphere. It was warm, welcoming, and friendly. I was interested to try a new place on the Main Line and was drawn in by the 4.6 star reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, I do not think Exit 13 deserves such a high rating. The service was very good: attentive and friendly. The ambiance is similar to Not Your Average Joe's in Ardmore with the upstairs/balcony seating and downstairs and big screen TV showing sports, but much noisier, especially as the upstairs also was filled with guests. By the time we left at 7:45pm after a 6:45pm reservation, it was loud enough that we had to fairly shout at each other to continue our conversation. The food was okay, except the salad which was excellent, but not worth returning for just the salad. - beet salad - 4.5/5, plentiful small diced red and yellow beets, avocado, arugula, a light dressing and burrato with crushed pistachios. a very solid starter salad and the server kindly split a large order into two small plates for us to share - fried calamari - 3/5, having just eaten at Estia last night which has a very good fried calamari, this one was not breaded as consistently and some of the pieces were a tad on the large side for a reasonable bite and too chewy to be cut with the fork or knife. - penne puttanesca - 3/5, my husband ordered this and while he not a self-proclaimed foodie, for him to say it was just okay means it was really just okay - linguine vongole - 3/5, points for the very plentiful offering of clams, i counted probably 20 generously sized clams (sometimes you get miniscule clams with this dish), but overall the sauce was too salty and there's not much you can do to fix that, and the linguine was a bit overcooked, definitely not even close to al dente We skipped dessert as by that point our ears were starting to ring with the high decibels coming from around us on the balcony and the floor below. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time so maybe it's just not for us. read more

We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The parking lot in front and on the side were full. We parked in the Rosemont Business park across the street. I did make reservations because I wasn't sure how crowded it would be. The woman who took care of us was friendly. She told us that they make their own bread and pizza crust. We tried the G. Hill Special as an appetizer. It's fried dough topped with prosciutto, burrata, and bruschetta. It was delicious. We also had the burger, the chicken parm sandwich, and the caprese sandwich. Hugo spritz- good and classic. Whiskey Amargo Sour- very strong. Good homemade sour mix. Cesar salad- ok, the dressing is bitter and acidic Arachini- very good. Crispy outside and tender rice inside. Great creamy cheeses flavor with a perfect balance of the black pepper flavor. Pasta- tender pasta, not too al dente. Great creamy sauce pairs well with the shrimp and scallops. I tried Exit 13 with a friend last night (Friday). We had 5:15 reservations and were seated immediately. The decor is adorable. Food was good. Our waiter was kind and obviously working hard. My entree arrived 10 minutes after my friend's which was a bit awkward, but easily forgiven. LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES after we received the receipt for our meal and boxes for the leftovers, a manager came to our table and told us we had to leave because they were busy and needed the table. Embarrassed, we left immediately. Upon departing, I noticed that there were several empty tables, both inside and outside, and NO ONE was waiting. There were also patrons present who had been there since before we arrived. Having come straight from the office, we were dressed professionally, we were not loud, voiced no complaints, paid as soon as the check arrived and tipped 20%. However, my friend was the only African American present and I have a sick feeling this might be why the manager wanted us gone. In my 57 years of life, I have never been asked to leave a restaurant- even when I have lingered! Asking patrons to leave a mere five minutes after receiving a receipt is both inexcusable and suspicious. read more

We sat on the second floor overlooking the lively first floor which I didn't mind as it was quieter upstairs. The umbrellas on the ceiling are a fun touch. My daughter and I shared the Mediterranean octopus as an appetizer which we enjoyed. Nonna's pizza with prosciutto and broccoli was just okay and on the dry side. However, we both loved the shrimp and scallop vodka fettuccine. The fettuccine bolognese was also good according to my husband. Our server was attentive, but at the end of the meal while I was looking over the bill, two items were a few dollars more on the bill compared to the menu. We brought this up to our server who said something about a price increase that wasn't reflected on the menu, and he offered to fix our bill. However, please check your bill. Unbelievable food!!!! Everything was excellent - well prepared and delicious. We have a mushroom allergy at our table and they were very conscious of it with the grilled artichoke app. I had a burger, my friend had the BLT w/avocado. Amazing! Right down the road from Villanova University, Exit 13 is a newer exciting neighborhood gastropub with a great selection of drinks and delicious food. With plenty of tables, a large bar, TVs, and colorful decorations littered on the walls, this place is perfect for a casual night out with friends or family. We started off with the arugula salad and the meatballs. The salad was okay, the meatballs a little dry, but covered in a super delicious sweet gravy. We then moved onto "The Jawn" (cheesesteak) and a pepperoni pizza. The cheesesteak was unbelievable. Stuffed inside a delicious homemade roll was tender sliced meat, perfectly cooked onions, and melted oozy copper sharp that will make your knees weak. It truly was one of the better steaks I have had in a while. The pizza was delicious as well. A little greasy, but overall cooked perfectly with tasty ingredients. Service was amazing. We sat upstairs and there was no issue at all. They even had a busser upstairs ensuring our plates were cleared and water filled at all times. Will definitely be back for another Jawn! read more

The food is typically very good here and it is a very nice place. It tries to walk a line between casual dining and fine dining. The Italian offerings here are among the best on the Main Line, certainly. Staff and management are friendly. There are little, but important, things here that need refinement: servers sometimes aren't consistently attentive. Sometimes I have had a server that doesn't seem to know the food very well and struggles to make recommendations or clarifications. Consistently, servers don't seem aware that they have a pepper grinder available and when asked will bring over a tiny pepper shaker. They don't put the pepper on for you when they do bring the grinder. They clear plates before all diners at the table are done eating. They need to polish the service skills offered. It's precisely because of the meal price point in question (it's not cheap) and the clear intent to be a cut above that the issues above should be rectified. I recommend this place for sure and will continue to eat there, but the things above annoy me and are easily rectified if they make the effort. read more

Nice small local place. I thought the prices were on par except for the artichoke app. It seemed expensive for what you got. We made a reservation so we weren't worried but it was a full restaurant. The bar was hopping and a good atmosphere was seen. There was a good drinks menu and we weren't disappointed with the bottle of wine we ordered. I wish I had tried the white sangria but there's always next time. I didn't have the arancini as I am not a rice fan. It was a bit different as it had actual mozzarella cheese in it. I am guessing some would like that and some wouldn't. The grilled artichokes were good with a light truffle oil drizzle and cheese over the top. They were on a bed of prosciutto. The chicken parm was a very large portion with a nice side of pasta. We subbed angelhair but no complaints on this one. The scallops and risotto were a nice portion as well. Scallops were done perfectly Personally the star for me was the pescatore special. I asked for it in a fra diavlo style and it was great. Just enough heat but not too much. There was lots of seafood as well a very robust dish Only downside if I can call it that is that we think they probably have too many tables on the floor or added too many chairs to some tables. I saw an episode of Kelly Drives one evening and the next day I took my wife to lunch at Exit 13 Mediterranean Restaurant. It is a quaint restaurant in a quiet community, just minutes from Villanova University. Let's say that we were NOT disappointed. The prices were reasonable; the food was delicious; the portions were adequate, and the presentation (plating) of the food was top-notch. The ambiance was unique. This restaurant, which used to be a Pizza Shop, was decorated with replicas of FIAT's and Scooters, paying homage to the Owners' hometown in Turan, Italy. Finally, our waiter was a rock star!!! He was very attentive and knowledgeable. He never wrote down anything regarding our order but retained every detail. I rate this restaurant with 5 Stars... if I could give it 10, I would.
