Sweet Mary Magdalene, the Leech Pit is the holy grail of everything you loved growing up!! It's a…read moredisservice to call this a vintage store - it's your sweet mom's warm embrace on a breezy, sunny spring afternoon at the park as a child - the park with the rusty merry-go-round and the steel slide you spent countless hours at with your best friends! Walking into the Leech Pit is like getting vertigo at a strobe filled dance club (oontz oontz oontz) - there's just so much goodness you just need to pause to catch your breath and take it all in. But you can't pause because your heart is pounding and you're giddy with excitement. The rare concert t-shirts, the racks and racks of clothes that serve as documentary of every phase you ever went through, the action toys you spent every afternoon with (and realize you now could be rich if you had kept them instead of letting mom donate them to the stupid kid down the road because you're too old for them now SMH), the records - oh sweet Jesus the records! - and even record players for your new collection! It's a one stop shop for your wildest dreams!! As if the shop wasn't Valhalla on earth on its own, I met the owner too (I think his name was Adam, but he looks like an Izzy). He was damn cool - I think he's probably my long-lost best friend from 6th grade that I used to get in trouble with. When he shows you around you realize he knows every item intimately, because he curated everything in the store. Everything in the Leech Pit feels like an expression of the owner and his commitment to taking you on a journey to excite your senses and comfort your soul. I like to think of him as the curator of your wildest dreams - he WILL make them come true!

They then falsely claim they sold it for much lower when they actually sold it for much higher, and then they also change your commission share falsely claiming you agreed on a different lower amount, when its convenient for them to do that to make more off the sale. They lie and claim they don't keep receipts after I asked for proof of the sale. Weeks later after ignoring my initial request for a receipt they send a seemingly random super sketchy receipt that doesn't even show the name of the products sold (ie my item) and then the receipt has a hand written note claiming the higher sale amount included another product that the buyer bought at the same time. Super unprofessional, very dishonest, poor communication, and non-transparent, lacking in integrity business practices. STAY AWAY for this oddball store! Oddball is right.... I may update my review only if they stop lying and quickly send me my consignment check for the correct amount I have asked for that I am owed for my item.

I really want for places like this to do OK, especially as it's local and independent. It's a bit…read morelike Comic Book Guy on "The Simpsons," except for records, CDs and DVDs and other business lines, as mentioned. Pueblo, "The Gateway to the Dirty Southwest" (TM), isn't Denver or even Colorado Springs, and the low disposable income and changing population demographics are no doubt challenging for keeping a b&m store going in such a market. As with the Simpsons character, it could become as much about love of a hobby or lifestyle as anything, even if finances are barely afloat. As mentioned, this store is gamely trying to find the right product mix...is it used DVDs, posters, used CDs, vinyl, something else, or all of the above? You don't have to drive too far to find other stores also trying to get the right mix, whether it's Independent Records or, say, Ernie November in Cheyenne. There are other deals-with-the-devil to contemplate (head supplies? Bootlegs? Ebay?) but few would argue it's a tough business. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be as rich a market for getting used vinyl in...a price for something that's not too special might be $4-ish, while an old Led Zeppelin album might be in the $20s. Pricing approach looks midscale, but the selection is limited by what gets brought in, and in that regard Pueblo is no Denver. That's likely the disadvantage there, and I see the same challenge reflected at crosstown rival Independent Records. Dave seems cheery enough and you have a 95% or better chance of a good encounter, with the other 5% maybe residual from suffering too many cranks off the street. In that sense he reminds me a bit of a more famous Dave, the owner of Dave's Records in Lincoln Park in Chicago (just subtract about 15 years from Chicago Dave, who's had way more than his fair share of fools to suffer). So overall I can't rate this place a must-visit if you're one of those people who travels a lot and has an extensive collection and is looking for something rare or different. But for the local market it's the kind of place you want to see succeed.

I literally just got off the phone with his rude ass. Who was completely unprofessional and arrogant from the get go.. I placed an order like 2-3 weeks back for a CD I needed shipped to a facility in CA. I explained several times to the girl on the phone that being it's a facility it had to be the non-explicit version, which she seemed to thoroughly understand. Come to a few weeks later, today the owner Dave calls me and from the get go is short and just plain rude. Basically cutting me off every chance he gets and tells me "Let ME ask the questions" that's when I ask for his name and position and suprised and amazed that someone like him is the owner of any establsihmentand. I had already paid for the CD since HE was the one asking ALL the questions but in the end I did ask if I could confirm that the CD was the non-explicit version. That's when he totally loses it and starts telling me maybe I can just cut him out and go through Amazon. Ummm, honestly does he not think that I tried that prior to contacting them, but as many people know the CD industry is damn near non-existant so I seen this business driving through Pueblo one day and thought, hey here is a place I can start to use for my continued business..They say keep your business local and help out small business but this is exactly why people go direct through corporations like Amazon..At this point I tell him his customer service is lacking and he tells me that he suffering from a illness and do I care?? Dude, I suffer from an illness too and I sure as hell don't treat people like you!! He tells me ya, I get complaints all the time about my customer service. Well maybe that should frckn tell him something then!! At this point he tells me, "why don't I just refund your credit card and we can just call it good." Which was absolutely fine with me but of course the transaction for some reason couldn't be reversed so I am nearly positive the explicit version of this CD is going to be sent since he obviously didn't give two shits from the get go!! Horrible.
