It's combined with the fried chicken cutlet and cream puff shop, so there's some seating available. The decor is very tiger sugar! You order on kiosks, and grab it from the staff at the counter. I got the brown sugar boba with chocolate chip (bad translation on their end - they definitely meant Oreo cookie crumble lol). The first few sips were weird because I forgot to mix the brown sugar into the drink, so it felt a bit even alcoholic tasting? But after mixing, I thought this was delicious and I just loveeee any dessert that had Oreo crumble in it. A bit pricey though to be honest. My friend got the strawberry mochi drink, which surprisingly came with 4 different toppings in a very topping forward way. It had coconut jelly, rainbow jelly, boba, and more. This is the best boba I've had! You can order at the counter or at one of the 3 kiosks they have. Service is quick. The drinks come with a sealed top that you poke the straw through. Every visit, it seems understaffed and a little neglected. 2. Wait time: You'll usually be waiting at least 15 minutes for a drink. (Today I clocked 13 minutes -- so hey, progress?) 3. The SMELL: And here's the biggest issue -- the place smells absolutely horrific. There's an overwhelming stench of old/dirty fryer grease. I get that it's coming from the fried chicken side ("Chunky Boss"), but since they share the same storefront, it all blends together. This was my second time stopping into Tiger Sugar. I had dropped by Chinatown to grab a couple of gachas for Christmas and all of the great smells wafting around must have got to me because I found myself really hungry. That's when I remembered that I had been wanting to go back to Tiger Sugar because that first time I only got boba. I enjoyed the drink a lot but was bummed that I didn't have the appetite for one of their cutlets during that first visit so I was looking forward to finally getting to try the huge fried chicken that continually to popped up in my feed the past couple of months. So this time around I ordered the Sweet Chili Cutlet, Fries and Drink combo with an iced black sugar boba and pearl coffee latte with cream mousse. The combo is on the expensive side at $22 but the proportions are decent. If anything I was wishing the boba was bigger. The drink was great once again and exactly what I look for in a sugar and coffee bubble tea. I was kind of torn on the cutlet though. While I appreciated the size and amount of meat it had I felt that the breading was kind of lackluster in some bites and I think I would have preferred to just have the chili sauce on the side as opposed to slathered all over. I think the chicken was definitely worth a try just to satisfy my curiosity but I do wish it had left more of an impression as far as seasoning goes. The staff are courteous but mostly focused on getting the orders out which is fine because they have multiple kiosks which make ordering pretty easy. The interior is actually pretty nice but was not exactly inviting this time around. Maybe it's better in the hot months but it definitely had grab and go vibe with all the empty space. I will definitely be back for the boba but I'll probably check out other places before I make Tiger Sugar my chicken cutlet destination. read more

They are famous for their brown sugar syrup that is added into their most popular drinks, and for good reason. You place your order at the kiosk in front and wait for your number to be called. This location offers soy milk as a non-dairy alternative, which is great. Not all TS locations do this so I can verify that this is one of the good ones. My drink was made well and just as expected. I asked for 1/2 sugar since the syrup is already very sweet, and that is truly a good call to make. Order modifications can be tricky on the kiosk. They allow you to enter a note (such as me requesting to swap out a jelly for boba in one of our drinks), but may ask to clarify with you before making the drink. read more

First time trying Tiger Sugar! They have two kiosks at the register area for self-ordering. They were super busy when we were there on Saturday night, so the line took a while. But once at the kiosk, ordering is easy and fast. A bunch of my friends are lactose intolerant, so they appreciated the free alternative milk option. As a first timer, I was annoyed by how disorganized this place was. Customers were standing line waiting to order or wait for their drinks? Who knows? People told me just to order at one of the 2 kiosks. I wanted the hello kitty cup, how do I order that online? So I asked one of the servers behind the counter. She said all drinks come in a normal cup but it's all hello kitty. You can order a special hello kitty cup for $5. Then how you do order the hello kitty plushy cup holder? Well that you have to order at the counter separately and can't order at the kiosk. Everything was just so confusing. But overall I thought the hello kitty concept was super cute. Although there's so many bubble tea places around Chinatown, Tiger Sugar is probably one of my favorite! I always order their #1, Signature drink, black sugar boba with Pearl milk and cream mousse. I like how their tea isn't overly strong. Some other places brew their tea too long or the tea flavor itself is overpowering the black sugar taste. Or the after taste gets a bit bitter towards the end. Tiger Sugar's black sugar boba drink has a good mixture of sweetness, boba and milk. It all goes well with each other. No one ingredient overpowers the other. The boba is super fresh and chewy. You can tell it is freshly made. The store itself has cute tiger decorations. It's a little small. Definitely will get crowded during peak times. They do have different areas where you can snap pictures to post in IG lol. The service was really slow. Super slow actually. I'm not sure if they were training new people that day but it was turtle speed. I know they need to measure and weigh everything but our drinks took 15-20mins. I've been here three times, and I definitely think that they worked out the kinks of all the busyness from opening. Originally there was a problem with the order line mixing into the pick up line, but they put in new point of sale machine to order. Super smart! It was calm inside when I went so I was able to hear and ask someone where to go to order. The workers were nice and courteous. Very good service. They were alert when I had to ask a question, too. First time here on Monday for the holiday. The place was very busy. There was a line just to put in an order. By the way the only way to put an order in is through a computer kiosk. There are only two which causes a line and because the menu although it may seem limited, there are multiple options that you need to consider through that computer kiosk. After paying at the kiosk, which one of them had a broken card reader to top it all off you stand around or sit and wait for your number to get called from the window. The place has decor that screams take a picture and post on Yelp or post on IG which . is great. We did not wait long for our drinks to be ready. It was honestly my first time ordering it here. We've had Tiger Sugar before, but we ordered it with UberEats by delivery, and I just never write a review because I didn't taste it. It was my kids who drank it. I was standing by the register for quite a while, thinking I could order there because one of the machines was broken and I want to ask about the jumbo boba. There's a guy there, and never once he asked me if I need help. I finally asked him if I could order here, and he's like no. And he said order there (while pointing to the other machine). We ordered a total of 5 drinks. All with extra stuff, such as extra jumbo boba, extra popping boba. Unfortunately, taste wise, it was pretty disappointing. Jumbo boba tastes like coffee. My kids hated it. They ended up throwing the drinks. Mind you, I spent roughly $55 for 5 drinks, including 15% tips. The tea doesn't taste strong. It's too watery due to too much ice. First time having Tiger Sugar from a storefront! I absolutely loved Tiger Sugar boba ice cream when it made its way to Chicago in the middle of the pandemic. I haven't had a milk tea in a very long time (I prefer other boba drinks for now) and this was quite satisfying. I got it 50% sugar and it was the perfect amount of sweetness for me. I loved that it uses different sizes of tapioca pearls. I thought others were exaggerating when people said the boba is good, but no kidding, I love their tapioca. It is one of the top. If I were craving for a brown sugar milk tea, I would definitely get it again at Tiger Sugar. I went on soft opening the day before grand opening and the menu item was very limited. Yea I was one of those people who waited in line for their grand opening. They tried to deafen me with the darned lion dance and scare me away with firecrackers and the big line, ya know, I was brave as a tiger. Haven't tried the popcorn they gave out yet, but the playing cards are pretty nice. I've gotten Tiger Sugar in Singapore and NYC and was super excited to see a location open here! I generally just get the T1, though I tried to order the T2 at this location. Ended up getting a T1 that cost extra since my coffee jelly was missing :'( Sizes are big, sugar and ice levels are NOT adjustable, prices high ($8+), but if you like brown sugar boba this is probably my favorite chain to get it at. They also give paper straws at this location, which I appreciate from an eco-friendly point of view, but make sure to finish your drink before it starts drooping. read more

I ordered a black sugar milk tea with mochi, boba and added extra jumbo boba (paid extra for them). I ordered online via Uber at 2:30pm with an estimated pick up time of 2:45pm. I didn't get to pick up my drink until 3:45pm, and I had to ask for it twice in that hour. Even though they might be aware that I was waiting as I told them my name, they didn't yell out the name of the order. The order did sit there for a little bit. I finally picked it up, and then noticed they didn't have my jumbo boba inside the drink as they usually sit on top of the drink. They basically added the jumbo boba to the bottom and put my drink back in the cup. Therefore everything got shaken and mixed up and didn't have the typical black sugar milk tea look which was kind of disappointing. The drink was 10 dollars. The size was small when it was compared to other milk tea shops. The size was between a tall and a grande in Starbucks definition. Given the wait time, the cost for the size and the disappointment from the drink, I will not come back. I do not recommend. No one should be waiting for a drink for more than 30 minutes. The pudding itself add onto the caramel flavor similar to flan and is soft plus smooth! Their boba is well mafe for the perfect chew while being soft. Located in Chinatown square where you can only order the drinks from a kiosk. I love the famous Tiger Sugar concept that they perfected the marriage of tea, milk and syrup in every sip you take. The only negative part to this is that you are not able to reduce the level of sugar on any drink so it is 100% sugar for every cup. there is only two sizes, Large and XL and the XL is not that large. I ordered the red bean and boba and it was tasty and very sticky which I wished they would wipe down the sides of the cup. There are over 10 other places here in Chinatown that has an option to reduce the sugar intake but if you love the sugar than this is the place for you. read more
