I got a premium Jasmine milk tea hot with lowest sugar, tongmu lapsang salted cheese milk tea hot with lowest sugar, and pistachio jasmine coconut iced with lowest sugar. All of which had really good and strong tea flavor. The jasmine was the most noticeable, a bit more than I'm used to but really good. All of the drinks were good but not as creamy or thick or heavy as other places-- this is probably both a pro and con depending on how you like it. I didn't like the salted cap, not sure why it's green and tasted like matcha, shouldn't it be for the tongmu lapsang? Perhaps I should order it inside and have them put the cap in the drink. I enjoy the milk tea here, and just realized they have an oat milk option, so I won't have to limit my intake any longer lol - I've tried the apple, jasmine, and the osmanthus milk teas in San Mateo - by far my favorite is the Jasmine, and the flavor is consistent between the locations - and I like pearls thrown in though it does change the flavor of the milk tea a bit. Wait??? Did I just come across my new favorite milk tea place?!?!? I've been meaning to try Molly Tea ever since they opened but haven't been able to since it always seemed so busy but I was lucky enough to drop by last weekend when I was in town and omg! Their white champaca matcha milk tea was devineeee. I got it at 75% sweetness as recommended and I absolutely loved it! Not overwhelmingly sweet but creamy and a little bitter. It tasted heavenly! As someone who can take a whole day drinking just one drink, l'll tell you right now that it only took me a few minutes to finish my milk tea. I also got to try the white champaca oat milk latte and their jasmine milk tea which were also delicious but so far nothing beats the matcha milk tea. Moving on to the actual space, it's a small milk tea shop. There's a few tables and chairs to sit at but even if you were lucky enough to snag a seat, there's just way too many customers and too much chaos going on to really sit down and enjoy your drink so if you were planning on going there to sit and catch up with a friend or to maybe do some studying, I would recommend picking up a milk tea there instead and then get a nice dessert at the Paris Baguette next door to pair your milk tea with! read more

Delicious unique floral milk teas. Gardenia, white champaca, and jasmine oat milk teas are all great. However, I did notice Gardenia wasn't very strong in flavor. White champaca and jasmine were noticeably more floral and earthier, so I'd opt for one of them next time. White champaca is my personal favorite and is a bit sweeter than jasmine, which is slightly earthier/more bitter. When you walk into the shop, you can smell a hint of floral scents in the air, which is nice. However, it's definitely much weaker than the one in Toronto (where we first discovered this shop), so we were a bit disappointed with the lack of an "authentic" smell in the air. I first visited Molly Tea in December 2025 when there were pink Christmas trees and lots of fairy lights. The interior of the store is always extremely cute and photogenic (as is the packaging of the drinks!), but it was especially lovely with all the decoration. Even better, the store was doing some sort of (holiday?) promotion where we received a free magnet of the Molly Tea mascot as one of the Myers-Briggs personality types. The free magnet was of course random, so now I have a magnet of a Myers-Briggs type on my fridge that is certainly not mine, but it's cute, so who cares? Since December, I've been back here about three or four times and would go much more frequently if the store was closer. The drinks are always very tasty. You can adjust the sweetness in many different intervals, which I like because many boba places I've visited only offer "normal/less/no sweetness." At Molly Tea, you can decide exactly how much less! I like their drinks warm best, but they taste great iced too. My favorites are the seasonal ones, but friends I've gone with who ordered from the standard menu all enjoyed their drinks too. The only downside of this location is that the seats are quite limited, and there is no bathroom. It's more of a "get tea to go" type place than a "sit and chat over tea" type place. This is a shame, because the store is so cute (and clean!) that you want to stay and enjoy your drink in that atmosphere. Maybe one day they'll expand or open a more sit-down oriented location.
