I decided to go for the creme brulee milk tea and my family got lemonades in their can. The cans were hard to open as we broke off 2 of the tabs, so we had to ask the staff to open them up. It would be a great concept if you wanted a better seal to take out, but need to be careful when opening. This spot is located in the Northbridge Mall food court. We came at 7:30 on a Sunday, even though the mall closes at 7. You can still get to the food court through a few elevators around the mall, but it's definitely less than ideal. After we got our food, a security guard kicked us out since the mall was closed. The food itself was pretty good though. We tried the ube basque cheesecake, which was delicious. I also had the strawberry milk, and without any changes, it really hit the spot. I didn't really care for the bottles it came in--the top of ours actually broke when we tried opening it. I'd definitely prefer regular bottle caps. I have never seen a shop with employees who shockingly don't even care or work like this store. I went to eat at Lao Szechuan first and then ordered my drink by a QR code as recommended by the waitress at the restaurant. When I walked to the store 20 MINUTES later, no one was there at the front and no drink was available for pick up. I was so confused that I literally ran around and even back to the restaurant to ask. And then, I saw two of them in the back of the store gossiping. When I asked where my drink was, a dude literally told me: oh, their system is not connecting to the QR code in the restaurant ... but then he proceeded to see my order on the screen . He then proceeded to tell me reluctantly there's no boba (I ordered two types of boba) and I was so confused that since they had so much free time standing in the back having fun and gossiping, why didn't one of them go proceed and make a new batch of boba? He then of course went ahead and made my drinks wrongly (I specifically asked to reduce the sweetness in my order). Got a few things all of which were very good. The iced dalgona coffee with boba was very nice, the coffee tasted fresh, and the oat milk wasn't super thick. The white moustaches taro drink with boba and 75% sugar was not overly sweet and actually tasted like taro unlike lots of places which mostly just taste like vanilla. Both had boba that tasted fresh, and the texture was soft, probably one of the best bubble teas I have had in Chicago. The crepe cake, was alright. The service was very efficent, we got all of our items within 5 minutes, despite there being a relatively long queue. Mon ami, I love me some good boba and Te'amo delivers both in taste and looks. Located at the top floor of a mall, this not-so-busy boba shop is a nice escape from the bustle of Michigan Ave. The area has a few tables and chairs with outlets so you can stay and work or browse the internet for a bit. You order through the kiosk and the barista prepares your drink. I ordered an Oolong Milk Tea with Boba and Oat Milk, which hits all the marks of a good tea, non-dairy milk option, and the chewy boba itself. They have a ton of other drinks to choose from and you can really customize it to your own liking. Notably, I like the aesthetics of the cups where you actually have to crack them open like a can of pop, but feel it creates more waste than necessary. After walking around and sight-seeing around Millenium Park and the Magnificent Mile, I wanted a little snack/refreshment before heading back to my hotel. Boba sounded like a great option and Te'Amo was on my way back. This location is on the fourth floor food court at The Shops at North Bridge. Just take the elevator or escalators up. They have a menu posted up on their screens and electronic kiosks to take your order. Their menu is wide and varied with a lot of options to customize each drink, which can be overwhelming. They also have desserts available. As it was my first time here, I tend to lean towards the "top sellers" which they have displayed. I opted for their Volcano Tea Latte, a strongly brewed black tea with southeast asian spices, heavy cream, topped with oreo moustache (oreo cheesefoam). First the packaging, so on point! I loved how it was like a soft drink that you pop open at the top. Second, it tasted good, especially the oreo cheesefoam. Mmmm, that cheesefoam! It was a bit on the pricier side, but I feel like you're paying a premium for the presentation that goes into each item.
