He was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out history and things that we were particularly interested in. We saw tons of dolphins along the way which made my night. The ride was relaxing with stunning views. The staff checking us in and juggling our reservation, Peyton was great. They called and offered to adjust our time to maximize our sunset experience. After our ride, we got to ask questions and learn about the burger boat and how cool that operation is. We look forward to coming back with our kids for the fossil tour.

But Captain Steve was on it and made sure to phone us in the morning as we devised a potential plan/time in the afternoon to touch base before we called it. We tracked the weather through the day, and once the afternoon rolled around, he said as long as it was good at departure time, we could go out and described the plans he had depending on what weather we might have. Thankfully, the day turned itself around and it was gorgeous by sailing time. We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks, so we got those onboard and we were off. I mentioned that I'd really love to see dolphins, if he knew where they might be. Either Captain Steve or his son Zach, who came along to help, made sure to point out any dolphins that were seen. We even got close to a couple which was a really neat experience. We had the option to sit back inside the boat or up top, and could move around as we pleased. We had such a fun and relaxing time during our sail. Captain Steve is super experienced and was very comfortable answering all the questions we had. His boat is well maintained and has a bathroom on board (bonus when you're on a 4 hour sail with drinks!) Highly recommend anyone looking for a unique experience to contact Captain Steve.

Finding him and the boat was easy and he was ready to go. We took advantage of the cooler on board and thanks for the blanket because it did get cold once the sun set. We learned a lot about the Savannah waterways and history but at the same time we also got to just sit and take in the incredible sunset and dolphins. You can tell he just loves doing this! We enjoyed fresh pastries before heading further out. We got to explore a sandbar filled with pelicans and other majestic birds. We got to see dolphins---something Seth kept us out longer to make sure we got to experience. He dropped us off closer to a coffee shop and gave us tips on what to explore on Tybee. We did the sightseeing riverboat cruise and overall had a really enjoyable experience. It was a…read morerelaxing way to see Savannah from a different perspective while learning about the riverfront and the Port of Savannah. The narration was informative, and seeing the massive cargo ships and waterfront activity was a unique experience. The boat was spacious, with both indoor seating and outdoor viewing areas. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and they were surprisingly good--definitely above average for food on a sightseeing cruise. We also opted for the 42 oz souvenir drink, which was well worth it if you plan on enjoying a few drinks during the cruise. It lasts the full three-hour experience, and the bartender was fantastic--friendly, personable, and made a great drink. Unfortunately, it rained during part of our cruise, which likely impacted the experience since we couldn't spend as much time outside taking in the views. Of course, the weather isn't something the company can control, and there was plenty of indoor seating to stay comfortable. Overall, this was a fun and worthwhile experience that I'd recommend to first-time visitors, couples, and families. Between the scenic views, interesting narration, better-than-expected food, and excellent bar service, it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours on the Savannah River. I'd definitely return--hopefully on a sunny day next time.

There was some history mixed in along the way, which was interesting, and the whole experience was relaxing. The food was probably the weakest part for me. It was served buffet style with fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus fruit. It wasn't bad, but it was all pretty lukewarm and just didn't leave much of an impression. That said, I don't think people are booking this for the food anyway. You're booking it for the views, the boat, and the experience. We had fun, enjoyed the ride, and I'm glad we did it.

Lazaretto Creek Park Fishing Pier is located right outside of Tybee Island and is about a…read moretwenty-minute drive from downtown Savannah. I think that due to the distance from Savannah, this pier does not get a lot of usage compared to others in the area. The pier side of the creek also contains a boat ramp about a one-half mile from the pier, with the pier situated at the end of the road. There are no public facilities or running water at the pier, with two portable restrooms the only structures located there. While fishing, there are great views of the Lazaretto Creek Bridge. Visible on the other side of the creek are several fishing and charter boats, jet skiers, kayakers and several restaurants. In between catching fish, activity from these businesses is more than enough to keep you occupied while enjoying the picturesque views. It is never too busy at the pier, with weekend traffic consisting of about ten people. Consider Lazaretto Fishing Pier if you desire a peaceful and scenic fishing experience.
