We did the sightseeing riverboat cruise and overall had a really enjoyable experience. It was a relaxing way to see Savannah from a different perspective while learning about the riverfront and the Port of Savannah. The narration was informative, and seeing the massive cargo ships and waterfront activity was a unique experience. The boat was spacious, with both indoor seating and outdoor viewing areas. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and they were surprisingly good--definitely above average for food on a sightseeing cruise. We also opted for the 42 oz souvenir drink, which was well worth it if you plan on enjoying a few drinks during the cruise. It lasts the full three-hour experience, and the bartender was fantastic--friendly, personable, and made a great drink. Unfortunately, it rained during part of our cruise, which likely impacted the experience since we couldn't spend as much time outside taking in the views. Of course, the weather isn't something the company can control, and there was plenty of indoor seating to stay comfortable. Overall, this was a fun and worthwhile experience that I'd recommend to first-time visitors, couples, and families. Between the scenic views, interesting narration, better-than-expected food, and excellent bar service, it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours on the Savannah River. Had a good time on the Savannah Riverboat Cruise. Honestly, the best part was being able to get out on the water, walk around the boat, and see Savannah from a different perspective. There was some history mixed in along the way, which was interesting, and the whole experience was relaxing. The food was probably the weakest part for me. It was served buffet style with fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus fruit. It wasn't bad, but it was all pretty lukewarm and just didn't leave much of an impression. That said, I don't think people are booking this for the food anyway. You're booking it for the views, the boat, and the experience. We had fun, enjoyed the ride, and I'm glad we did it. read more

The Savannah Riverboat cruise is a "one and done" experience that I wouldn't repeat for the price. The two-hour ride is scenic, and the four-level boat is impressive, but bring a jacket--it was freezing both on deck and inside the cabin this April. While we had a nice window seat, the real dealbreaker was the food. The buffet looks great, but the quality is just not there. It was edible, but honestly, it was not good at all. Experienced the Savannah Riverboat Cruise for dinner recently on a birthday trip for my BFF. The menu included Roasted Potatoes, Squash Casserole, Mixed Vegetables, Lemon & Artichoke Chicken, Prime Rib carving station, Shrimp & Grits, Fish, Salad, Dinner Rolls, & Dessert. Tea, Lemonade, Soda, Water & Coffee included. We missed the dessert because we went walking around, and didn't know it was coming later. They had a full bar with a nice selection of wines. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco for the table. The food was seasoned well and filling. There was entertainment on 2 levels of the boat. The duo on our floor was great, performing a mixture of R&B and pop songs. The 2nd level had the line dance songs rocking after everyone finished dinner. Overrated. Upon arrival, the ticket-taker did not greet us. He simply said, "Tickets." No, "Welcome aboard!", no "Glad you're cruising with us." and no "We're happy to see you. Where are you traveling from?" Nothing. No welcome or warm greeting. The next person wanted us to take a picture. For money, no doubt. No way. We're already not wanted, why would you want a picture? I've already decided I'm not spending any more money after being greeted in that fashion. No drinks, no snacks, and no souvenirs. The narrator was knowledgeable, had a few jokes, and was tipped appropriately. The paddlers do not run. Two stars for a knowledgeable narrator and clean restrooms. I did the sunset cruise with my husband. Here are some details rapid fire. Bottom two decks are reserved for the "dinner cruise" ticket holders. The top two decks are reserved for the "sunset cruise" ticket holders. After the dinner is over people can go to other decks. The scenery was ok. A lot of industrial sights since you're on the river with the use of cargo ships. Sunset cruisers have access to apps and sandwiches and fountain and alcoholic drinks. (That you pay for of course) They had things like potato wedges, fries, phillys, etc. In my opinion you could definitely do dinner with those options available. Restrooms available on board on levels 1-3. They take one of those touristy photos in front of the boat before you board if you're into that. You have to get your boarding pass from the red shop across from the boat (across the street) before getting on. Parking is iffy if you want something close. There ARE public lots close but they are always full so use your judgment. There are several parking garages within walking distance also. read more

Had the opportunity to do the riverboat cruise and lunch while on a work trip in Savannah. Thought it was going to be a gimmicky thing, but it actually turned out to be really nice. The lunch is buffet style. I'll admit I had low expectations, but actually ended up loving my meal. In fact, the mac n cheese and bread pudding was some of the best I've had. The cruise itself is a nice way to see up and down the river and get a insight into the city's history, particularly the import/export. You even get to glaze over one of the nearby forts. It's better when you can be on the outdoor areas of the boat. Tips: If you want to sit by a window, show up to board at least 1:30 hours ahead of time. There is an elevator to floors 2 and 3. You can order snacks on the third floor. The guide narrates the first portion of the tour and then turns off the mic for the last 30 min. If you are inside, I recommend going outside during the narration. It's easier to see and hear. read more

What a wonderful little trek up and down the Savannah River! We bought our tickets the day of, about an hour and half before the cruise time- from the local ticketing shop. You can board an hour ahead of the departure time, and the line to board will be lengthy. They take photos as you board and you are told what floor you are on. If you purchase the lunch or dinner cruise- they will have tables reserved for you. If you just get the cruise- like we did- you have a couple of levels to pick your seat. We went straight to the top deck- open air seating. The elevator goes up to deck 3 and you have to take stairs up to the top deck. **three of the decks are accessible for wheelchair or walker. Lines for bar service are obnoxious, you can also order food. John stood in that line twice- ew. It took about 40 minutes the first time and about 30 minutes the second time. The cruise is 2 hours long. I recommend getting in line right away if you want anything. I would probably book the meal an cruise if I ever did this again. When we got there we learned we had been bumped due to a private party with no communication to us or our tour company. Our girls were very disappointed as were the adults. Same boat, no mediocre food but the same very nice views. After living in Georgia our entire lives and visiting Savannah countless times, we decided to spring for a sunset riverboat cruise, mostly to see a different view of River Street. We didnt do the dinner so we were on the 3rd and 4th decks. Upon entering the boat, a man dressed like a captain or crew member walked in front of me, held the door open, rolled his eyes, and said up the stairs, which I could see through the door to the left. He stopped me and said not that way, but didnt offer to point in any direction, while still holding the door open in front of me (apparently for the people behind me, for some reason). He clearly was miserable at his job - tall, skinny young man with short brown hair. The cover band on the top deck was ok but nothing special - they also seemed to be over it. The breeze was nice, but the boat takes you down the river into the most industrial area so you see the sunset but through giant cranes and factories, which sounded so deafening, they drowned out the music. The restrooms were decently clean but not great. We didnt eat or drink while onboard so I cant comment on those but there were drinks available on the top deck. The music from the gospel singer on the first floor was incredibly loud and the man's voice was horrible! While waiting to get off the boat (and it taking us farther down river when the cruise was over half an hour prior, causing us to miss our next tour) we gathered downstairs with everyone else and a noise that was deafening (like screeching breaks in a wind tunnel) under us, the gospel singer continued to sing without taking a breath so we were pummeled by noise on top of noise while being held captive on this cruise that was seemingly neverending. As a non-Christian person, I felt forced to listen to gospel music which was a complete turnoff. It left me wondering if other religions are ever represented on these cruises. Needless to say, we've now done the cruise and know not to waste our money doing it again. The romantic idea of a sunset riverboat cruise is missed on this one. read more

I had a good experience overall. Have plenty of food and room on the cruise. The top deck is where the narrator is at but they have speakers so yo can hear. You can sit inside look out the windows or walk around. Have restrooms on the boat. Only problem is had was I purchase my tickets through the place I stayed at they couldn't print off. Well the o town trolly wasn't very informative on their location to board. Once we discovered the sign by the dock we figured out they had a store on river street. Also you have to have it paper printed off. I have two children who both have multiple allergies. I am hesitant to attend events where I am unable to bring prepared food. I was also able to communicate via e-mail with the chef prior to our schedule event and personally pick out the meal for my children. Our experience there was great and our server communicated well with us to ensure safe meals for both of our children. I took a Sunday brunch cruise with a friend. I'm generally not a fan of buffets, but this one won me over. I sampled a lot of the food and most of it was top notch. You can't come to Savannah and not try shrimp & grits. I'm not a fan of grits, but it was OK. The breakfast food like the eggs, bacon, sausage, and french toast was all served warm and was all delicious. The fried chicken was outstanding, and I wouldn't expect less in the South. The waitress was very friendly and was working her butt off to serve a large number of people. She brought over sweet tea which had the exact level of sweetness that I like. She also brought over blueberry muffins that were to die for, and cinnamon rolls that were a bit overcooked on the outside but delicious on the inside. After stuffing ourselves with food we were able to go outside and take a seat on the deck. As we watched the scenery go by the captain was on the microphone giving us details about what we were seeing, with a good sense of humor. When we came back in our table had been cleared, but the waitress left my extra muffin covered with a napkin. In my mind I said "YES", because I loved that muffin. We gave her a good tip. If you take one of these cruises do not forget to tip the waitress. I highly recommend the brunch cruise. read more

9-21-24 6 pm boarding 7-9pm cruising Passenger count 510 Hubby had wanted to go on this attraction ever since we moved to the area. Therefore he got us tickets to go on a Saturday evening sunset cruise. The tickets he bought online. However once we were on line to board there was other passengers ahead of us that directed him to trade the receipt in for actual tickets. He did so and it was very quick process as I was holding our place online. Once aboard we were directed to decks 3&4 as we did not purchase the dinner package as well. It was a beautiful night so as we made our way to deck four we got a couple of drinks for myself a fountain Coke that was flat and popcorn. Hubby got a gin and tonic after the lady behind the counter figured out what was gin?! She had a well brand she said and Captain Morgan which was a rum. After further looking she found Tangueray. Anyway we sat on a bench but noticed the deck was filthy definitely in need of a power washing. We headed over to a table near a DJ that was setting up. We set sail as the sun was already going down and it was pitch dark out. Surprised no announcements on what we were seeing just the loud music. Hubby than left for 45 minutes of our two hour cruise to get another drink. The odd thing was every time I looked over at him he never seemed to move. When he finally returned and the cruise was more than half over he told me what occurred. The person behind the counter note not the same person that thought Captain Morgan was gin. The other server she was giving drinks to people on the side that came up and cut the line. Yes you heard that correctly giving them away. Many others that waited gave up and went one deck below but not my husband. Once he finally made it to get a drink he told the person that she should assist the line and not the people cutting. She than proceeded to give my husband not one but two drinks for free. They were so strong it was amazing he could walk off the ship. I don't understand the business model here. We are sailing in the dark looking at containers in a port as well as refiners. The only thing that was nice was seeing the Talmadge Bridge up close. Definitely would not recommend. We took a smaller boat out of Bluffton for the same money and it was hands down 1000 percent better. Definitely a tourist trap one and done. read more
