The vibe is cozy, cottagecore meets laid back beach town energy, perfectly fitting for downtown Ventura. Warm, inviting, and thoughtfully curated without trying too hard. The kind of place where everything works together, which is honestly a little dangerous. Ashley and Melanie are absolute gems. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely invested in helping you find something that feels like you. Never pushy, never salesy. You can tell they care about the shop and the experience, and it shows. They also carry a small mini-me collection, Sin Min products that smell amazing and feel great, plus jewelry, accessories, and small home decor and stationery pieces that make perfect gifts. The horchata lip balm alone is worth stopping in for. I've been in Tiki Girl many times over the years. Always a cute store to shop around in and my friends who are more beachy always love their stuff. Not usually my kind of style but super cute nonetheless. I have found some fun country styled tees and today I found the most perfect embroidery cocktail tee that I had to snag it. The store is spacious and clothing is nicely laid out. I appreciate that they have multiple fitting rooms and comfortable ones at that. Easy to navigate this store and they do a good job of rotating different trends and styles. The day we came in they also had a good variety of a sizes that I could appreciate. Pricing was fair. As they claim they have different wears between $20-$70. I found that to be true. My shirt was $55 but again nice detailing and unique. Staff was friendly but also not overdone. I appreciate that they give you a hello and then kind of leave you to look the store on your own. However when we did have questions the gal was helpful. Good vibes. Definitely a cute store and it's nice to have a clothing store downtown that tailors to different styles and sizes. While I haven't bought a lot here over the years, when I do find something it's quality and cute, all you could ask for. read more

I wanted to love this store so much but like other Yelp complaints, the customer service by the staff was AWFUL! The two girls were not friendly, did not greet me or my son when we entered, did not ask if we needed help and had an attitude like they couldn't be bothered to help me. I approached them to inform them that I was there to pick up a pre-ordered shirt and a girl went to the back to get it. I walked around the store with my son and saw some really cute things. To be honest, this store is AMAZING with its cleanliness, hip vibe, and on point clothing. However, despite me grabbing a few items, I was still not acknowledged past them giving me my shirt. I ended up buying two Knick-knacks but chose not to support the store by purchasing clothing. Yes, the clothing is adorable and I liked a lot of it but I'm not going to support a business that won't even acknowledge me or my son (who was trying to engage with them multiple times). They seriously have so many cute pieces, and I unashamedly walked out with the Hollaback and Now and Later high rise jeans, 2 sweaters, and their Young & Brave Foundation tee. My girlfriend wants to like this store, it's really trendy inside and they have lots of things to look at. Since they moved to the new location, there is a fatal flaw that will likely mean all she'll buy in there is the occasional greeting card. We went in last week and she was thinking about trying something on but soon after noticed we could easily see into the two fitting rooms that were in use - awkward! She put back the dress she had considered trying on and we left. Worst part of the whole thing was noticing we could still see the half naked girls in the fitting rooms from outside standing on the sidewalk!! I love the clothes here! I got a really cute dress for $70! The entire store has great decor and (this might be a little random but,) the fitting rooms are so cute! They have really good lighting and the painting on the walls with the cute curtains are all nice touches. I'm pretty sure it was made for taking selfies/pictures in! My only (slight) complaint is that some of the staff seemed a little arrogant? One girl in particular just wasn't very friendly and I got the vibe that she didn't think I was good enough for the clothes, if that makes sense. Update: Based on the store's response to my original review, it seems I may have failed to make my point clear. For starters, it's not just mass retailers like Amazon and Target that offer monetary refunds -- many, if not most, boutique retailers do as well these days. However, if you want to stick with this antiquated store credit policy, that's entirely your right. But given how rarely it's practiced in modern-day commerce, you should be up front about disclosing it to customers BEFORE they make their purchase -- rather than sneaking it onto their receipt after the fact. Considering that monetary returns are now the norm ("3 other stores in Ventura" aside), it just comes across as sleazy and deliberately deceptive. And yes, I exchanged the item for something else... because I HAD TO! It wasn't something I particularly liked either, I just didn't want you sitting on my money and putting it on ME to constantly check your inventory in hopes of one day finding something I might actually want. I've been a loyal customer of Tiki Girl for years, and when I moved out of the state of California I made a point of visiting the store each time I was in town to support this local business. A friend recently sent me a top from Tiki Girl for as an engagement present, and it was significantly too small in the chest. When I was able to make it back into town to try to exchange the top (only three weeks after my friend purchased and shipped it) I was unable to make my exchange *even just for a size up* because "the window of returns which is 10 days had passed". For any return that's ridiculous but especially for someone receiving a gift out of state, AND during times of COVID-19 with extremely slow mail service.
