Even though I paid and was charged for my site lock long before my reservation date, I received an email the night prior telling me my reservation was canceled??? When I called the manager said they were canceling my reservation because they had already booked another person into my site. She told me to find another place to stay??? I was beside myself. We were going to arrive after 8pm, so the owner and her daughter left us a bundle of firewood at our yurt site, which was extremely kind! We loved the yurt and our campsite. Didn't love the bathrooms, but it's camping, right???!!! Camp store was not open, so I can't comment on that. The bedding in the yurt was nice and so were the lights! Close to the lake, but that's the only good thing going for this un-scenic campground. The spot they initially assigned us was way too small to fit our truck and camping gear. It was also loaded with large rocks and the ground was uneven. We noticed multiple spots like this, but were able to switch to a larger one whose ground was leveled. Fortunately, we were at the back and didn't have neighbors on either side, but lots of fellow campers walked by. That stated, I didn't like the area...felt too crowded, especially with all the rv campers. The bathrooms were clean but the showers were way too small. read more

We have been staying with Tiki RV park for at least 30 years through growing children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren. We think the owners here are the best people! Our stays have always been enjoyable, and the location is convenient for us, especially during the Saint Ignace carshow. So my husband and I stayed in one of the Yurts for 3 nights, 4 days and it was really great experience! The bed was super comfortable, it was an actual bed instead of a blow up mattress. the comforter was really warm with additional blankets if needed. We were provided two bundles of wood during our stay, a fan, flashlight, two bottles of water, trash bin, two end tables ish, a long cushion, and electricity. The outside had a fire pit and a picnic table. There were tons of trees, and privacy. It was quite. It was the perfect getaway! read more

We paid a lock fee for two adjoining sites. They gave one of our sites away. Instead of making that RV pack up and move, we adjusted our site. They did give us a free night and adjusted the rate difference. Our last day there, the said RV had a leaking tank and it smelled like sewage. We called out to them, then knocked on their door, no answer. Son walked up to office and reported it. This evening, a woman came onto our site and said "so I hear you're racist", and then started to talk to us very rudely. I asked her to leave our site. My 2yr old granddaughter was sitting there. We went to the office and called the after hours number, surprise, it was the woman who came to our campsite. She was irrational, refused to listen to us. Apparently the RV we did not make move, said that we were cursing and using the "N" word. That was complete lies. Instead of coming to talk to us, she barged in, did not intro herself as the "owner", was bad mouthing us, refused to have an actual conversation (I still think she had the wrong site). This was a horrible experience. She showed zero professionalism, and came onto our site looking for a fight. read more

This is a nice RV Park & Campground. We were given our site, which we had reserved several weeks in advance, & when we pulled around to it...someone was in it! They mixed up reservations but took care of us! The sites are not huge but was sufficient for our 36' fifth wheel. Surrounded by beautiful trees & just a short walk to one shore of Lake Huron! They have restrooms & laundry & free WiFi. Close to several fun things to see & do. The town of St Ignace has a darling Boardwalk along Lake Huron. You are just minutes from Sheplers Ferry to go to Mackinac Island & only 45 miles from Sault (Soo) Ste Marie & the Soo Locks! Canada is just a hop, skip & a jump from there where we went to lunch! It's a nice RV Park & we would go there again!! read more

Let me start by saying my family and I are not picky. We have stayed in private and state campgrounds for years. This park is the first stop on our UP vacation this summer. We are mostly staying at places for just a place to sleep. When we made reservations, Tiki was one of the last with availability in St. Ignace. When we pulled in, it looks like many of the hotels and other places here - a long history, but still a decent place to stay. Some of the lots look decent, but we realized when we found ours that we would need to enjoy having neighbors. Snug is ok, but when we came back from town to see the neighbor kids playing ladder ball with our lot as their backdrop, tensions rose. To try to calmly ease that setup, my wife and I went out to make a fire in our fire pit. It's the lovely kind that is dug into the ground, so absolutely no oxygen reaches the fire, but I figured it would be nice to try anyway. We coupled that with the fake wood that they sell at the office that has been soaking in the lake for the last month. Needless to say, fire building became an adventure all it's own. After an hour of paper, cardboard and TIKI torch oil (ironic I know), I found the only way to maintain any type of flame was to hatchet each waterlogged piece down to chopstick-sized pieces so they would catch fire. For someone with a serious heart condition, that exercise meant life on the edge for the two hours it took to get it going. Now we sit with Classic Rock on the radio, beer in hand, and everything from the tips of our toes to the middle of our shins mildly toasty as long as we snuggle close to this raging flame ready to battle any Bic lighter. Would we stay again? Maybe. If we needed a spot to flop, the place is decent with lots of trees and a decent looking laundry and office building. If we were planning to stay for any duration to actually "camp", we would either look for a bigger lot or keep our eyes out for other campgrounds. Advice to ownership - 1) Redo the fire pits if possible. This style is always a battle. 2) Have good firewood brought in from somewhere so we can enjoy an evening fire without the struggle. 3) For your "snuggly" sites, perhaps label them as such in case guests wind up with neighbors who bring six kids and a runaway racquetball, which is the newest thing I'm watching next to my truck as I write this...thankfully a cold beer in the UP is never far away. read more

Tiki RV Park & Campground is a little mom and pop campground that specializes in low price accommodations that still manages to be fun and attractive. This is another one of my private treasures that I stumbled upon. I don't really want share this place with anyone, but you really should know about this place. The campsites vary from smallish to huge, but somehow most seem to still evoke a sense of privacy that is impossible to get at other campgrounds. Another plus is that most of the campsites actually have grass. The camp store prices are actually cheaper than Walmart, the only thing is that they don't have much there. There are good washer and dryers for use here also. Now you know there has to be a down side and there is. The bathrooms are your typical private owner hodgepodge of toilets and showers. They are generally clean well stocked, but it's no Holiday Inn. If you frequent campgrounds you already know the situation. Noisy drunk campers is my major pet peeve with camping at a campground. The owners here have no patience for noisy drunken idiots and are very proactive in dealing with them. So if you are prone to being a drunken idiot who likes to make noise, you should stay at the state campground instead. read more

The location is great. The whole place is dated and worn out. Restrooms were inconsistent dirty not stocked consistently. Showers were worn out nut they had hot water. Check in, Not a fan of having to talk through a plastic window for check in. Confusion in reservations got us an under powered site with no sewer. Gravel roads. We are booked to be here for a week. The rates are excellent, the office employees are very helpful and nice. The sites are slopey but there's plenty of space. Your just seconds from town which makes this location great. The park is clean and all your really getting are your basics, water, electric, fire ring and LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. First let me say we have stayed at this location before and LOVED it. The staff was not over friendly but we only checked in and went about our vacation. The campground is clean, with small sites, no frills and that is perfect, as there are so many other things to do in St. Ignace and surrounding area! Matter of fact we told all of our friends of this hidden park and even had our friends join us on this next adventure from hell. Yes, this park is one of the cheapest by far, until they charge your card twice (which I did not notice until the date of my check in and mind you yes I made these reservations 3 months ago) then blame the reservation company for the mishap. Then argue that we did not pay for one of the nights, making me pay that fee..........then that got double charged! I attempted to show my receipt on my phone from the reservation company and they would not have it! They said that was NOT what their COMPUTER SAID! I was told to get with my bank and provide proof. Well, as other guests stated, WIFI is non existent there, and I could not get my banking institution to "fax" the documents due to Hippa regulations. Later that evening our dog became very ill, and we had to rush him to Traverse City for emergency surgery where he passed away shortly after. It also rained pretty much all that weekend. Needless to say it was not a great weekend. There was no way I could get the proof from the bank until we returned home, and no need to ruin more of our family vacation. Monday morning I go to the bank and discuss my options to get my funds back. I did contact the reservation's place and they say it was not their fault, of coarse they laid the blame on the campground. Finally after contacting the campground and not being happy that now I have 2 individual double over payments and the campground staff have no apologies, and now I am being seen as a rude past guest. I guess the reason they have a sign on their window that states they will no tolerate rude customers is they have such terrible customer service and accounting skills that customers are mad and rude when it comes to their money! Customer Service goes along way, and when you have proof of payment from the reservation company (that YOU HIRE, and you won't look at it, you over charge not once, but twice, then say I am being rude and tell me not to call or email or you will contact your lawyer.............I only wanted my due monies back. If they would have looked at my receipts and not jumped to conclusions that they were not wrong, I would not be writing this post. Again, great location, great clean place. UNORGANIZED STAFF, RUDE STAFF. The computer does not always know everything, and sometimes your customer is NOT WRONG! This past customer thinks the reservations company and campground might need a refresher in accounting and customer service. Keep driving, spend a few more dollars on a more appreciative establishment! One who actually cares if they have return customers! read more

We had a good experience here. The sites were a little tight and tricky to get into. Our neighbor had a fifth wheel with lots of slide-outs, and it took him forever to get situated. Luckily, our Airstream doesn't have slide-outs, and my husband backed into our spot like a champ! We didn't use the restrooms or shower facilities, so I can't comment on those. But this was a nice, shady, wooded campground. The people were friendly to us. We would come back here...and bring bug spray. The skeeters will get ya here! read more

We really enjoyed our three-night stay. Staff was VERY friendly and there were several options for discounts. We had a party of eight adult family members with four RVs. Despite making reservations only a week ahead, we were able to all be together. Although the park was mostly full, it was pretty quiet. The showers were clean and had plenty of hot water. I really enjoyed our stay here. The only thing I would say is be prepared for the mosquitoes! They were worst than anything else we have seen in Michigan. Besides that, we had a very private tent site as no one else was staying there at the time besides the RVs. The showers were free and clean which was great. I think the only big issue was the location. There is really no reason to stay on this side of the bridge as everything is just a tourist trap. If you are going to head to the UP you might as well make the trek to Lake Superior. read more

Let's start with the good stuff. Where this RV park is located? Very convenient for events downtown St. Ignace. The showers are really nice! On the women's side, they're very small, but the men's side is larger. The showers aren't labeled for genders so we just used the men's side. The showers are hot and clean! But it's downhill from here. We have a 30 ft 5th Wheel and they crammed us all in when the other half of the RV park was completely open!!! The staff is not friendly at all and they overcharged us, but when we politely pointed this out, it was treated with frustration at us, not apologies. The staff make this park very unpleasant. They advertise that they have Wifi, they do not. They have wifi if you stand inside the registration building, but if you want wifi while you're in your actual camper? You're screwed. The sites are VERY uneven and hilly. Our picnic table always looked like it was gonna roll downhill! And the picnic tables are old and falling apart. It's very expensive to stay here too!!! We had a discount card but they only allowed us to stay for 4 nights with the discount. Luckily, we were in the UP for events and didn't have to be at camp for more than eating and sleeping. There are many awesome camping places up north but this is definitely NOT one of them! Stay here ONLY if you have to. read more

The lady who I'm assuming owns this place is very very nice & accommodating. I had to work near Saint Ignace so I needed a campsite for 17 days, it was very last minute & she worked around that.. and made sure I had a place to stay. This Place is an older campground with few amenities. There is no playground or pool for the kids. The restrooms are older but very clean. The showers are clean but small. They do have a coin laundry. Tiki is located 3/4 of a mile from star boat dock to the island. Star will pickup and drop off you and your bikes for free. Like another reviewer stated most of the folks here are older. That being said I took my family here mid July 2016, my kids are twin boys who are 10yrs. No one yelled at them and we had a great time. The price reflects the amenities. Under 40 a night full hookup in mackinac! I'd stay here again anytime. We spent our days site seeing and our evenings in this very quiet campground. All in all, if your looking for the party, pool, playground, tourist stuff keep looking, but if your on a budget and want to see the island and the up cheap this is it. read more

We love this place. An older campgrounds but very Nicely kept. Have never had any issues to speak of. Bathrooms are always clean along with showers . Staff very friendly and helpful. Very relaxing place to stay. Come for the car show and that is always fun and campgrounds is full. Never had any issues with other campers. A family owned business. This RV park is not kid friendly. Beware. Your children will be yelled at and won't have fun. If you don't have children then it may be for you but if you have kids look elsewhere. Over age 65 you'd be good. read more

As another reviewer said, where to even begin? We called a few days ago and asked if they had any full hook-up sites available for a 40ft 50amp fifth wheel. The man who answered the phone said yes and took our information and we assumed everything was good. The day of arrival, we knew we were going to be there past 5pm so we made sure and called to let them know. They said that was fine and they would leave a map with our site marked and we could pay in the morning. All good. So we pull in around 7 and the office is still open, we go inside and give them our name and say we have a reservation. The lady just looked at us with a blank stare and shows us 3 cards, none of which were us. Awesome. She proceeds to tell us that they have no full-hookup sites left. Great. After 7pm and we have no site. She then says they have a site with water and electric (no sewer) or one with just electric. Alright, at this point, we'll just have to settle for that I guess. She drives us out there to see them, points at them, and drives off. We take a look at them and realize they're both 30amp only, not 50. We go back to the office and tell her we need 50amp and she says the whole park is only 30amp. So just to recap, when we originally called, they told us they had a 50amp full-hookup pull-through site that we could reserve. We thought this for days while we drove across the country! They lied about having 50amp service and then apparently just threw away our reservation! When we told them we didn't have any other site or anywhere to go, she just shrugged her shoulders. Why should she care? Their site looked almost full being in St. Ignace in the summer, she got her money and didn't care about anyone else. When I asked who the guy was that took our reservation, she would not tell me and tried to say we had called the wrong park. When I showed her the number we called and that it was indeed their number, she again just shrugged her shoulders. This leads me to believe this happens very often. My suspicions were confirmed when I called another park in the area and told them the story, they said that many people call them after having the very same issues with Tiki RV Park. I took all the time to write out all these facts just in the hopes to save you all the same anger and frustration I had dealing with these people. They do not care about you and will do as little as possible just until they get your money. For your sake and the sake of your sanity, FIND A DIFFERENT PARK! I don't care if it's 50 miles away, it's worth it just so you don't have to walk into this place. read more

Used our Passport America card and was charged $5.00 more per night than the highest price listed. Was told that only one full hookup was left for the weekend, it was in a horrible location and yet several much nicer lots close by stayed empty all weekend. WiFi is non existant even though they say they have it. Location is about the only thing this place has going for it. It's close to town and local attractions. We weren't impressed and won't be returning here. read more
