We stayed here for the first time over the weekend and it t was very enjoyable. The room was very comfortable and you could see they had started to redo parts do the room. The view was amazing and made the price of the room more worth it. Being on the ground floor we had some issues with the floor not being level, so the bathroom door was hard to open. We had an issues with the tv and the front desk was quick to fix the problem. Room was clean and like I said the view was beautiful.

$120 pet fee for 4 nights. Redonkulous when we clean up our dog poo. They do not clean rms during your stay. They do not advertise pet friendly weird They allow pets stayed several other places that did not charge that much. Nicer places..several other nice places waterfront to stay. Trash can in the pool area made me want to vomit. Hopefully they use some of those pet fees to buy a new one. I don't mind old as long as it's clean. May sound Redonkulous but I wouldn't use the pool because of this. The place does have a million dollar view but all the waterfront places there do. Might stay again if I didn't have a pet and it was the only place with vacancy. There might be a few pet owners that are idiots and don't clean up poo but believe me them charging that much I wanted to leave his poo for them to clean up. I'd never do that though.

Well priced hotel on the lake and a great view from the balcony. But very outdated and everything was stained. Didn't feel super comfortable touching anything and don't go out back because everything is covered in goose poop.

We stopped here to get some beach time in for the kids before continuing North. The lakefront was great: lots of playground, sand, hammocks, kayaks, etc. The kids loved it and you can just sit and relax with a beer while theh run wild within your line of site. The room was decent and so was the price. With all this covid action right now we didnt try the pool or sauna, but they would have been nice offerings.

Bavarian Haus I booked this hotel because of its location on the beach. Each room has its own balcony with fantastic sights and sounds of Lake Huron. We were hoping to take advantage of the chairs on our balcony but it was just too cold and windy. The hotel is dated but we found it to be comfortable, clean, and it suited our needs. We really stayed here for the view and we feel that we got our money's worth. My husband and I each got a coupon good for ten dollars to be used at the local casino. I turned my coupon into thirty three dollars.....my husband didn't. Had we wanted another coupon the guy that checked us in said he would give us each another one the next day but my husband had no desire to visit that casino again. Breakfast was nothing fancy and I didn't much care for it but my husband loved their waffles which were prepackaged and just needed heating. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and we had none of the issues that other travelers have reported. We would stay here again.

We booked a room at the Bavarian Haus Lakefront Inn and were so satisfied with our visit. The facilities were a little out-dated but very clean and well cared for. Our room was very comfortable and had a balcony which overlooked the beach. The beach area was super close and was pretty private. The facility offers complementary kayaking and provides life vests and oars. We also received passes for free-play at the local casino. There are discounted tickets for the ferry to Mackinac Island, complementary shuttles to the ferry dock and the casinos that run regularly. The facility also offered a very nice complementary breakfast (both hot and cold items). It was better than I expected and they even offered outdoor balcony seating in that dining area. Lastly, the staff was awesome. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The room was reasonably priced and we got more than we expected with this visit. I anticipate coming back to visit and making this our regular place. Book a room here! You will not be disappointed.

Really old not so clean bedspreads

Booked this place through RCI. Thought that the 4 stars would be promising. The whole place smells like they used to allow smoking in the rooms. Extremely dated. Nice beach access and love the free kayaks. No microwave. Housekeeping left a bunch of empty soda cans from the person before. Front desk staff was wonderful and apologized for the inconvenience. We just wanted a nice place to stay for the night before we went to Mackinac Island. Blech. Would look for something else.

View from room at Bavarian Haus. All rooms face the East.

I vow to come back to Bavarian Haus during the warmer months. This was a very comfortable independent Inn and with a surprising pleasant rate. Everyone is raving about the view. Every room faces Lake Huron. I actually couldn't wait for early morning so I could watch the sky light up while sipping coffee and viewing through the large patio style window which faces a deck with table and chairs. It was too cold to sit outside but I had a spectacular view from inside. The pool area was closed and appears to be in the rebuilding stage. There was absolute quiet all night, of course it's not real busy in the off-season, but just the same, no noisy highway, no obnoxious guests, no noisy niteclubs nearby. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful and on my way out I promised to be back when I can plan a trip and stay longer and see more of St. Ignace.

I really was in love with the comments along with looks of the outside. The out back area was nice minus the seagull/Geese poop all over the place. You really have to watch where you step but once your down at the water it's lovely. Renting two rooms one was on the bottom floor as the other was on the next flight up having a balcony. Sad to say these rooms are a little over priced. The bottom floor I stayed in once we started taking luggage downstairs it smelt very musky. We opened up the room and the air was stale so we opened up the window and back door to air out the room. That was not enough so I sprayed some body spray around which helped mask everything else. The room was very dark unless you open the window so if you are Count Dacula by all means you will not be burned. My other party members said they loved the 2nd floor till about 5am when they heard seagulls along with rain beating down. I guess I lucked out not having a balcony room at a additional 30 dollars. Beds were decent so everyone got a good night's sleep. The pool and hot tubs were nice so we all enjoyed those amenities. We did not use the shuddle service so I can not comment on that but saw them show up. Breakfast was filling but everyone joked about the horrible waffles in plastic wrappers. I did not taste one but heard they were very sweet. Eggs had a weird texture to them but did not upset my stomach.

Needs updating for sure but we really had a great time here. The service was great. Everyone was kind. The beach was right out behind our room. We woke up early every day we were there and watched the sun rise over the water. Breakfast was good and we ate on the deck with a view of the lake. So beautiful! The place was clean. They had lots to do on the beachfront! Kayaking, games, hammocks and more all included! You could literally just stay at the hotel all day and have fun. Everything in the room worked well. The style was just very old. It's definitely time for a remodel. But other than that, I loved this place. I would love to come back.

Our first time here and I have to agree with the previous review by Megan. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. We found a senior discount price of $98 in July for a double room. It has a beautiful view of Lake Huron out out our room and has a porch to sit on outside. Room includes a small frig and a microwave if you ask for it at the front desk. Also has wi-fi. They also offer a buy one get one free ferry ticket to the island. Just ask at the front desk.

"In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and…read morethey stand there" (Yes) What a pleasant surprise! The Holiday Inn Express at St. Ignace sure didn't feel like a Holiday Inn Express. First of all, it has a beach, a big grassy communal courtyard, and chairs where you can sit at the waterline and listen to the seagulls that chitter and chatter like crazy. The beach scenery is gorgeous, and the views of the bay and Mackinac Island are gorgeous. The beds are comfy, the HVC and Wi-Fi work great, and the shower may have been the best hotel shower I ever had. Super pressure and plenty of hot water. Oh, and we had a balcony with a great view of the beach and the courtyard. But the biggest surprise was the amazing breakfast variety and the stellar breakfast service by Sheila and Melissa. They ran around at full speed, cleaning, wiping, refilling and straightening non-stop. As for the breakfast foods, there was a bounty of egg white omelets, scrambled eggs, turkey and pork sausage links, biscuits and gravy, a pancake machine, Cereals, Yogurt, gooey Cinnamon buns, Oatmeal, breads, muffins, bagels, apples, oranges, bananas, and more. Our two-night stay cost us $540.50 after taxes. We could not have been happier with our stay here. Five stars all the way.

We stayed in room 119 - should definitely be a king room vs 2 double beds. Barely had enough room to sneeze and the noise from guests above sounded like romper room with a heard of kangaroos all evening & night. The shower area had peeling paint & needs fresh caulk. Spotted a long black hair in toilet area stuck to wall, door, & hinge. The curtain over the AC needs to be shorter to not interfere with air flow & had black mold on the inner sheer one - double yuck After a long day of traveling we didn't appreciate hearing vacuuming outside our door at 730pm & than again at 930pm. Only hubs had breakfast & coffee - which he said was good & hot!! They did welcome our pet & had a great area for walking & bathroom breaks for him. We thought the Mackinac City property was the worst IHG property we've stayed at - this one is slowly catching up to it, sadly! The newly renovated lobby floor looks spectacular-as does the fire pit & patio!! That was being remodeled last time we stayed here!

My husband…read moreand I booked this hotel last minute for the 4th of July weekend, as the island had no rooms available, and all the other hotels near the ferry were slim-pickins. We booked it without stupidly looking at reviews cause we were just excited there was a hotel with a room available. The fact we paid close to $1,000 for 3 nights upfront before even getting there and witnessing this trash is insanity. It's absolutely asinine they charged $300 a night for this junkyard of a room just because it was 4th of July weekend. I've stayed at WAY nicer hotels that were way cheaper. This is actual highway robbery. If you enjoy the pungent smell of sour mustiness, and the feeling of wet humidity slapping you in the face as soon as you walk into your room, this is your place. This place is a breeding ground of mold. Dead bugs everywhere, dead bugs in the shower, lamp shade, hand towels, on the door and walls. The floors are a complete disgusting shade of grey, when they were obviously a complete different color originally. The sheets and towels feel wet from how humid it is in there. I feel so gross just being in the room, my shoes and even unworn clothes will be washed when getting home from just being in the same musty place of that room. Also, aside from uncleanliness, there's a hole in the bathroom that's been stuffed with toilet paper. There's a hole in the ceiling, and random holes in the walls where larger pictures used to be hung. They've got an extension cord strung across the wall? And, the lamps on either side of the beds are different lighting, one is warm lighting and the other cool lighting, just so random, and tacky. I rest my case.
