Definitely my favorite Indian place in Lubbock. I always get the butter chicken and it's always good. It can be a little bit too spicy sometimes and the chicken could be better quality but overall it's a solid dish and plenty of food. The naan is average. I've had much better quality at other restaurants. We also tried the Tikka Fries today and I would totally recommend them! I am picky about fountain drinks though and their drinks are not great. But it's not that big of a deal cause I usually get water. The restaurant is super clean. Great look! Also the rewards system is kind of shady. They never check on rewards unless you ask them. I wanted to like Tikka Shack after hearing the hype, but it was very mediocre. We ordered the chicken tikka masala. The chicken was cooked ok, but it was slightly tough. The sauce was also just ok. The real problem was the rice. I'm pretty sure they ran out of basmati rice and instead just threw in regular white rice. The rice was also poorly cooked and stuck in chunks together. This place is the BOMB. Wow, so good. I told my roommates and my sister best friend that I was craving Indian food. My roommate said, "Indian food"? I said, "yeah!" She said, "oh, alright, I'll try it." We arrive at this nice restaurant and we are clueless on what to order. We read and look at the menu. We all ordered something different. As soon as we drove our utensils in the food, and placed in on our tongues, we all were in heaven. This place is great! What a wonderful and authentic addition to Lubbock. I love that they have both chicken 65 and paneer 65 but though the paneer's texture is perfect, it didn't have a lot of flavor. The chicken kabob however was some of the best tandoori chicken I've ever had. I was really impressed with that and the mango lassi. The naan is perfectly cooked and comes with sauces that compliment it. I wish they used paneer instead of mozzarella - that's my only suggestion. I also really like that the portion sizes are not too overwhelming which is unusual in a lot of Indian restaurants. Keep serving Lubbock with high quality Indian food! read more

I came and it's basically like a fast food set up. You order at the counter, pay and seat yourself, they bring the food out to you. I read on the menu that the chicken tikka masala was "spiced up" so I asked them if they could make it not spicy, the cashier reassured me that it wasn't spicy. So I ordered it, and well, it was def. spiced up. Which i was disappointed about. Even the butter chicken was spicy. The food is already expensive and then drinks are separate. So if you're eating on a budget, this isn't the place. The staff was super polite though and the place was very well kept. Anyone that knows me knows that I am a regular here, and for good reason. The food is consistently good!!! I especially love the butter masala with chicken. Every time I visit, the staff is always very friendly and attentive, and the food is usually out in about 5-10 min (depending on how busy they are at the moment). We ate here tonight on their "Grand Opening" night, so it goes without saying that the line was really long and they were probably overwhelmed, but it was a great experience that has me planning my next trip back! First of all, in regard to the atmosphere, it's got a great, clean modern vibe. There is plenty of space in between tables and chairs, and they could honestly stand to fit at least one more large table, but they've got a great setup that flows nicely with the modern chic decor. In regards to food, I have to say that I was certainly impressed with all of the dishes I tried and wouldn't mind trying more! I personally got the Tikka Masala with lamb and it certainly had some good flavors, however the dish itself was somewhat cooler (temperature-wise), however, all the rest of the dishes at our table were plenty warm, so I would chock that up to opening day and the staff just being absolutely overwhelmed. I also got the Shack Naan and it was delicious! Highly recommend getting this with any dish you try! Perhaps one of my favorite things we tried was the Mango Lassi beverage! It's similar to a smoothie with mango flavors, and I believe even a hint of ginger, that will have your tastebuds tap-dancing on the table! All in all, this is a great new restaurant for Lubbock. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was eclectically modern and clean, and great (American-style) Indian food and they even take Apple Pay! First off, I really enjoyed this place! The team was super friendly and helpful when I first arrived, and there was not much of a line (Sunday for lunch). The food is moderately priced, and really good! The samosas were okay, but a good little appetizer. I got the Tikka Masala, and Shack Naan. I definitely enjoyed both, and the combo of the extra flavors from the naan was a bonus. The Mango Lassi was also good. It wasn't too sweet, and it was cool for the tummy. I really wanted to like this place so today I gave it a second shot with a different curry. Everyone has bad days, right? Instead of the tikka masala that was way too sweet, I ordered mughlai which is supposed to be "Pepper-infused onion-tomato cream sauce, sliced almonds, and dry fenugreek leaves (Methi)." I love using fenugreek in my curry and I do so when I cook myself. Funugreek, cardamom, and cumin... can't go wrong! Then, I found myself being disappointed again. It was too heavy (too much cream?) and I had to drink two cups of ginger tea at home. Also it was too sweat and I didn't get to enjoy the complex aromatic flavor that I usually do in this type of curry. I really wanted to like this place. It's clean, the service is good, and the concept is good... why did they choose these recipes?? Considering the amount of money they invested to open this space, I simply did not understand why the recipes they use are subpar. We ordered the food online. The food is mediocre. We always check our "to go" bags because the employees are lackadaisical about getting the order correct. This time they didn't get two of the items so I go back and politely ask to get the remaining of my order. Sometimes oversight is just a mistake. No big deal. But the employee and manager were less than helpful. I waited another 20 minutes to get the remaining order filled. The employee nor the manager took any accountability. Never even apologized. The overall management is subpar and absenteeism. The employees that work there have no desire to be there. Kitchen help flips the nan like it's a bother. I would check my order before taking it home if you get to go. read more
