Chicken burrito no tomatoes, no pico
Renae D.

My second time here & it was another hit. I really enjoyed my Szechuan Chicken. It was spicy but so good & flavorful. The egg rolls & samosas were good & came out very hot. My father in law & husband liked their chicken burritos. We honestly had a great low key Lunch. It was around 1:30/2pm on a Wednesday. Very chill atmosphere & service.

After reading some great reviews, we stopped by for an early lunch. We arrived a little before 11 am, but an employee didn't arrive until a few minutes after 11 to open up the restaurant. It's the old New Wave burritos location, located on Preston Highway with a few parking spaces out front. It's a smaller restaurant with booths, tables, and bar. There is a QR code on the tables for the menu but the server also brought menus. It's a Mexican and Indian fusion restaurant with also an Asian flair with dumplings and egg rolls. We ordered from the Indian side and started with the veggie samosas ($5.99) and then the Bollywood chicken tacos ($13.99). Only two samosas in the order - they were okay. The Bollywood tacos came in an order of two with no sides. Served in flatbread with chicken, lots of rice and a small slice of avocado. Glad we tried it out but probably won't be back.

Ordered from Tikka Tacos via Uber eats. The samosas were delicious! However, the sagg panner lacked the savory flavor... it tasted like to much butter was added ( and salt.) The naan was good... they only gave one small piece per order.

Tikkas Tacos is a hidden gem in Louisville, it definitely surprised us! We stopped in while visiting family post-Thanksgiving. Service was good, food came out quick and hot. The fusion tacos are a standout--and I was blown away by their cheesesteaks! Who would've thought an Indian-Mexican fusion place could make a cheesesteak this good? lol. My parents were loving it. They got chicken and steak cheesesteaks and noted they were both very flavorful and juicy. My partner got the Bollywood tacos, and it was such a unique balanced taste with the garlic roti combined with Mexican fillings. Quite flavorful. I also tried their butter chicken and naan, which were solid, but the fusion dishes really stole the show. The vibe is divey and sports-bar-like, making it a casual and fun spot to hang out. If you're in the area, Tikkas Tacos is absolutely worth a visit!

Lamb burrito

Had a fantastic lunch today at Tikka Tacos. Found this gem on Yelp. Had the lamb burrito and the samosas. Both were extremely tasty. The lamb was so tender and juicy. The burrito construction was perfect. Great ratios and rolled tightly. The samosas were filled to the bring. Tasty filling with crispy dough. Loved the sauce. Service was fantastic. Very attentive and food was prepared quickly. Gave me extra sauce to go with my to-go box. Place was extremely clean and close parking. Will be back!

Walking into the establishment, I can understand why very few people come here. It was not an inviting staff at all when we were seated we took our order. All the drinks came canned when we asked what was on the fountain. They told us all of them we all ordered, and yet all our stuff came in cans. We ordered a steak quesadilla, which had very little steak in it, and it was so tiny. The gyoza is a really good had good flavor, but they just weren't crispy like you're supposed to have a pan fried. The egg rolls were good, but there's hardly any filling loaded nachos were a disaster. A high school concession stand nacho has more toppings, flavor, and better presentation. We definitely will not be coming back here.

The location was easy to find and had a few parking spots in front of the establishment. This caught my eye because of the Indo-Mexican fusion dishes. When I entered, the first thing I noticed was a bar and large TV depicting a game. There was a nice ambiance as well. I took a look at the menu and ordered at the counter before finding a seat. I went with the Bolly Rollo thinking I'd get a decent sized burrito. It came out within 10 minutes. I'm pretty disappointed with the burrito. I paid nearly $20 including tip for a burrito that left me hungry after eating. There wasn't as much meat. The burrito was wrapped using one chapati. I had two chutneys - tomatillo and cilantro/mint? - that overpowered the taste of the burrito. I would have appreciated some sides for how much I paid for the burrito. Not sure if I'll stop here again.

Tikka Tacos lives in what used to be New Wave Burritos (R.I.P.). Since we live in J-Town and it's a helluva drive, we decided to make that helluva drive to Tikka Tacos to check it out. It's been a number of years since we'd visited New Wave Burritos, but from what I recall it appears the colorful paint on the walls is still the same. Or maybe still as colorful, but re-painted in the same festive color scheme. Doesn't much matter, because the bright, vibrant colors add fun and character. I think I saw it was considered Indo-Mexican Fusion food, and while I never saw a mashup like that coming, I'm glad someone did. We were seated immediately and our server (whom I'm SURE I've seen somewhere before) came to give our menus and take our drink orders. The menu has patently Mexican items, patently indian items, and what I'm going to call Mashup Items. I immediately focused on the Bollywood Tacos. Consisting of chicken tikka and avocado filling Indian paratha flatbread with taco toppings added, I never knew such a thing was possible. Our server (whom I freakin' KNOW I've met/seen somewhere before, dammit) brought our food in less than 10 minutes. And. It. Was. Glorious. Oh, MAN, it was such an unbelievable taste experience. You can taste how good it is by the picture I'm posting. Imagine that. It's even BETTER! For a Friday it wasn't too busy (and that's OK), but the restaurant was very clean and table were taken care of as soon as customers left. For the bar they have a number of beers on tap, in bottles, and some select liquors for your mixing pleasure. The drive to Tikka Tacos is pretty significant from J-Town, but one I'm willing to make. I'm serious. This is a food mashup that everyone needs to try.

What an incredible fusion of Indian and Mexican food! It's not much to look at from the outside, but the food will make the stop worth it.

I am a food snob. Food was delicious. Can't wait to go again. Lamb was flavorful and tender. Sauces on point. Indian tacos, all day.

I know I had a filthy fajita, an alderman's escort, and a plain Jane. They're served crispy shell inside a flour tortilla and have some of the most creative toppings I've ever seen. Almost too many! My OG margarita was good, and not too sweet. Service was friendly and we got our food quickly. More spacious than it appears from the outside, but I could see it being crowded during a rush. Looked like they had a nice patio, too.

Restaurant wasn't crowded but it took a few minutes to be greeted and seated at a booth on the upper floor area. Service was good and attentive. The menu has been expanded and I think for the better! They now offer flights of three normal sized tacos for $14.95-$16.95 instead of a huge taco for $8.95-10.95. There are about 15-20 options of tacos and then they have street tacos and burritos too. The menu is extensive so it took us a while but we ended up ordering two of the same tacos, ha! I ordered the chipotle chicken (I highly recommend), the steak fajita (again would recommend) and the cauliflower taco. I really enjoyed it but it's a vegetarian option and probably not for everyone. We also ordered the chips trio (on happy hour for 14.95) and included three dip options and huge house made chips. We chose the queso with sausage, traditional salsa and guacamole. Everything was delicious. Also, original margaritas were 1/2 off and there was also a peach bourbon drink on HH along with domestic beers. I had the margarita with tahin on the rim and it was sour and delicious, a bit on the sweet side but it was good. I was really happy with the quality of food and will definitely be back for happy hour!
