    Chilaquiles Con Huevos

Cute restaurant out in Kentucky. Loved the brightness and cleanliness of the restaurant. We had a large party but we were able to be seated immediately, the workers were even able to help us organize the tables and prepare everything quickly. I ordered the Chilaquiles Con Huevos which was amazing. I loved the strong and bold flavors of the all the components. It was a little soggy, which is fine, just assuming it would be so with the amount of sauces and everything on top. The drip coffee was delicious. If ever in the area again, I would stop by for sure.

Went in for brunch on Valentine's Day to try the February special (French toast flight) and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. I especially loved the pistachio French toast. Got the jalapeño potatoes to share. Like a Mexican lasagna! That green sauce is special. Definitely order one for the table. My husband got a breakfast sandwich (he was a bit shook my the exploding yolk, but the sandwich is wrapped to minimize messiness) & a biscuit with the award-winning chipotle gravy. We'd order it all again.

There is plenty of street parking and there is a parking lot right across the street. It is a small place and you may have to wait a bit. They stay busy but the food is fast. We both had the huevos rancheros and it was amazing for both of us. One had it with chorizo and I had it with pork. I wanted to eat it all but I couldn't. The drinks we had: mimosa and horchata expresso was really good also. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because I thought the service was slow when I initially got there. It's like they were waiting for the other member of my party to get there before they asked me anything. A drink while I waited would've been nice. I will still go back again.

Wow what a find! This place is a James Beard nominee and I understand why. Innovative Tex mex menu. Flavorful dishes with great presentation AND an incredible staff! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. If you get a chance don't pass this place up

Was driving past and the yellow caught our eyes. So we opted to stop. Was not disappointed in the least. It's so bright and airy. Great music selection. Service was great. Super nice and prompt. The food was amazing. My first bite into my burrito and I knew my waitress helped me make an excellent choice. Funny thing is I don't even like scrambled eggs but this burrito was great. It was very filling. I didn't even finish it.

Absolutely fantastic! The food is SO flavorful and amazing service! My burrito was yummy and yes!! The mimosa ... casual vibe and love the colors. The fresh churros warm and cinnamon THE BEST

I have drove by this place many timed and didn't have opportunity to stop by. Until I finally get chance to stop by to have a nice breakfast. When I entered, the vibe wasn't too bad. It is quite quiet which I like it. The host /serve was nice. I ordered their traditional Mexican coffee, Cafe con Leche and their signature dish. I had added chorizo to it. It was soo good! I would love to come back to try few more dishes.

Very disappointed. I feel as though they've gone down in quality...it was only maybe a year ago when I used to come to Con Huevos all the time, I would treat myself and sit alone up at the bar area, and would even bring my friends/family here often for a weekend brunch of even for special occasions. I moved further away across town and haven't been back in a while until today. We didn't have much time this morning so I picked up a takeout order and drove all the way across town because I was craving it. Maybe I should've known better to order takeout for breakfast. I left my house, picked up my order and was back home all within 25 minutes max, the service was quick and my meal was ready shortly upon arrival. That being said, they forgot my side of fruit. Doesn't seem like a huge deal but my favorite meal (chipotle con huevos) has some spice to it and the side of fruit really helps to cut that heat. Speaking of that, the biscuits of my meal were burnt, hard and dry. There was hardly any chorizo at all which is the best part of the meal. The avocados on top were browned. My husband's side of potatoes were hard as rock and inedible. Overall I was very disappointed and unimpressed by the place that was formerly my favorite breakfast spot. Unfortunately, this experience ruined it for me and I guess I'll have to find a replacement go-to breakfast spot.

The Tres Leches pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever had in a brunch setting. They were not over powering sweet but a delicious balance with the berries and bananas as a nice touch. The breakfast sandwich was bomb. The eggs were seasoned heavily which is nice because the egg sandwich is typically very... eggy, which this was a pleasant surprise. The sauce was riveting and delicious. My wife had the bowl and it was decent but I would recommend staying with the brunch items.

Delicious food! I grabbed breakfast with friends and we all got different and fun things! Their presentation of a meal was really cool. Their service was fast and we got in and sat just before the crowd came in for post church brunch. I would have liked there to be more to the Huevos but that's really my only complaint. More food on the plate. It is expensive to get the portion sizes. There are cheaper and better proportions at other places, we just wanted to try something different. I know this would be the only reason I would not come back. The food is great and the ambiance is that of a casual diner. Check it out!

What a cute brunch place! I've been here a couple of times and heard they recently revamped their menu. I got their breakfast tacos that come with chorizo and eggs. So tasty! And I had to get the Cuban iced coffee too. What a nice easy spot.

THIS IS HOW BREAKFAST IS DONE!…read more I'm always looking for the local flavor that stands out among the crowd and Breakfast AF (cool name btw), really held true to their brand. Situated an easy drive from downtown, and part of the Schnitzeltown are of Louisville, this apparently was a legacy deli counter back in the heyday and the original corner Hauck's deli sign is still visible. The expansion seems to include a few bars, a pizza joint, breakfast joint, and a revised deli with a smoker actively going at the end of the complex. And it is complex... we sat out front on the patio of the breakfast joint since we had the pup with us, but had I known how large the rear patio was, we would've chosen to sit back there away from the road traffic. I the menu is straightforward... the fare is on the higher side of breakfast pricing, but the portions are enormous and I easily made two meals off my sandwich and home fries. Speaking of which... get it... wich... okay fine. I chose the fried chicken/bacon/egg sandwich on Texas toast and it was... substantial. I added home fries, but honestly, the sandwich was a meal on and of itself. The two succulent chicken tenders exploded with flavor of a distinctive savoriness and that flavor peaked when I dipped them in maple syrup (they have a dispenser next to the coffee pots). The egg and bacon were perfectly cooked, complemented each other well, and the buttery toast just pulled it all together. My wife chose the shrimp-n-grits and that was just a flavor bomb with every bite. Savory grits with the slightly sweet shrimp, topped with smoked pork belly, and drizzled with a chili crisp oil that simply overwhelmed the tastebuds with every bite. It's a line order with pagers, so place your order, grab a table, and the coffee/water is self serve over across from order pickup. The back patio is open air, expansive, and spans the entirety of the multi space front buildings. There's even a soft surface children's playground behind the new deli. I was just absolutely astounded and definitely want to make it back to try their lunch fare next time I'm in town!

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here two Fridays ago ahead of a bourbon tour (thinking, correctly, that we should probably have a hearty meal beforehand so we didn't end up face-first in a gutter somewhere). Several Kentucky natives told us that we had to try a Hot Brown during our visit, and since it was literally created at the Brown Hotel, this seemed like the logical spot. The actual Hotel has some gorgeous interiors, especially upstairs in the lobby. We didn't see that area until after our meal, so when we laid eyes on the Lobby Bar & Grill, we knew immediately that that was where we SHOULD have gone for this Hot Brown dish. J. Graham's, I'm sorry to say, doesn't have the history and personality of the rest of the building and just looks like a generic breakfast spot you'd find in any hotel. It probably exists solely because the other dining options in the hotel aren't open until later and they want to give tourists and their own customers a place to eat at all times of the day, which isn't a terrible reason in my book. But it's also unfortunately not very good, and the dirty walls and overall meh appearance of the establishment just make it very clear that the hey day for this hotel overall was decades ago. The service was the biggest miss here. Our waitress was scatterbrained, often not around or around but hanging out with co-workers or talking up other customers. It was honestly pretty mystifying because when she DID come by, she was often overly apologetic and trying to make amends. But the best way to make amends is not to have to keep doing that throughout the meal. She forgot my friend's coffee (didn't write anything down when we ordered, which is fine if you remember everything but...) and when my chum asked what was in the hummus (one of just three apps), she didn't know and had to go ask someone in the kitchen. That's arguably a nitpick and she DID try to figure it out, but the lunch menu is pretty small and it was a little odd that her menu knowledge was that limited. The bigger problem was that we were in there for over half an hour longer than we wanted to be because she wouldn't come by our table. I actually actively looked for her on the way to the bathroom so I could remind her to come to our table, but instead found her off to the side gossiping with other staff. Not a good look at all. So this might have been an overall positive experience if some of the hospitality from the hotel had spilled over here. We actually both enjoyed the apps, which were the only real positives of the experience. The Bourbon Barrel Fries and the Two Timer, featuring Smoked Bourbon Hummus (bourbon tends to be the theme of your days in this town, I've found) were both really good, and I probably ate more of those than the actual entree. The fries were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned/addictive. The Hot Brown was fine for what it was (we split it to try). It's basically a dramatic turkey melt, with slices of turkey coated in cheese and other sauces. It also came with strips of bacon on top, which on a personal palate level I didn't think really helped the dish so I barely nibbled on those. It's definitely a solid entry but it wasn't mind-blowing for either of us. Maybe it's just from where we come from in the Northeast, but I'm conditioned to like my turkey with accompanying stuffing, and usually in the latter part of November. I think it felt kind of weird to be eating turkey with warm cheese. But I'm glad we tried it and got the context at least. You might have a completely different experience with better service, but I'd still recommend going upstairs for any dining. It's a much better atmosphere and you can really appreciate where this hotel fits in the chronology of Louisville. You're not going to get that from going here.

First off - I love this local gem, and I think it was just an odd/off night. It started with a scary trip to the ladies room, and it was just a mess. The first part of our evening (meeting friends) was great. Cocktails were tasty and the music was vibing. Fried pickles were AWESOME. At one point, the bartender changed the record and it became crazy loud - we literally couldn't hear the person 2 feet away speaking. A member of our party got up and asked the bartender if he could turn it down (asked politely), and was ignored. Literally ignored - bartender looked at my friend and the just walked away (and not to turn down the music). Next cocktail was AWFUL... food came out, and it was hot but nothing great; fries were oily. Churros were tough and overcooked as well. Our server (a younger woman) was attentive and friendly, and that was the highlight of our visit. She did turn down the music when we asked (and after another table I believe also asked). It wasn't a busy night, and I love the vinyl vibe and cool venue - we will come back and try again, but when 3 cocktails, an appetizer, and entree cost close to $100 before tip (for 2 - our friends were the same, so $200 for a table), you really need to be on point and provide solid service.

There are a lot of brunch cocktails (variations of mimosas and bloody marys, beer and tomato juice concoctions) and there massive bar if you're wanting something else. Prices on all pretty fair and pours are generous. For the food, I had the chicken and waffles and it was really good--the waffle was crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, perfectly toasted. I love the overall ambience/atmosphere of this place. Our server was fantastic, very kind and efficient. Didn't rush us out as we took our time with each course and spent the morning catching up.

I almost always get the Wake Up Burrito, which is loaded and satisfying, but I've heard great things about the breakfast sando, chilaquiles, and pancakes from friends too. The space has a cool, artistic vibe, the staff is welcoming, and it's the kind of place you want to linger at with a second cup of coffee. Whether you're a local or visiting, put this on your list!

I went to Foko after hearing nonstop hype about it being one of the absolute best breakfast spots…read morein Louisville. The place is positioned as this incredible Mexican breakfast destination, so I figured it had to be something special. Turns out it's just standard Mexican food and drinks. Even if they were using using "the freshest most highest quality ingredients", it doesn't show in the final product at all. Heres what i got: The Espresso Martini ($14) was actually decent--nice and foamy with a solid chocolate note. The Carajillo ($8), on the other hand, was weak. It tasted like plain iced coffee with zero detectable alcohol. I wouldn't order it again. The Wake Up Burrito $14: their biggest hype item. I got it and added chorizo for $3.50, bringing the total to nearly $17.50. It's sausage, cheese, eggs, and beans wrapped up--pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. Without their green sauce it's completely average, no different from any regular breakfast burrito at a diner. The green sauce itself is what really the only saving grace, but they serve it in tiny thimble-size portions like they're guarding some secret recipe. So for $18 you get a medium-size burrito plus a couple of fried tortillas with cheese on the side. Compare that to mexican spot like Bandito, where the burritos are twice the size and cost much less. This one is seriously overrated. The Chilaquiles - I got the side order of these with the burrito, and were average at best. Just fried tortillas with cheese and a little sauce that had a slightly sour edge. Not bad, but nothing I'd call amazing. I thought to myself, if these had egg and beans(what the main dish has) , would I have been glad to pay $17? The answer is no. Ive had better at the airport. Bottom line: Foko is incredibly overrated. It feels like a tourist trap built for people for those Luisville people who who don't eat much Mexican food and think this is the pinnacle. I get it, the decor is nice and gives that "premium" feel but the prices are way too high for what you actually get. I won't be back.
