It's nearly a half hour drive for me to go Tilda's Bakery in Rocky Point. I don't go to bakeries a lot so it must be good. I love their Pecan Coffee Cake. They make it in a ring or in a long, wide strip- either way it is The Best. Sometimes I buy bread or Banana Nut Loaf also , but I make the drive for the Pecan Ring. And everything else must be good too, because there's always a line, in the middle of this town that's deader than a mackerel- no offense intended. Good bakeries are hard to find. read more

Recently we had my sisters baby shower and of course came to Tildas for the cake, when it came down to design I asked if they could do Winnie the Pooh I emailed a couple Inspo pics and said I trusted their design choices. When we picked the cake up we were all so excited to take the top off and look and of course the cake was BEAUTIFUL! In Tilda's on April 21, 2026, about noon. Waiting in line. 3 people in front of were waited on by people behind the counter. Came to my "turn" the lady, tall dark hair, talks to a lady behind me, like they are friends. She then looks at the lady behind me " what can I get you"? I spoke up, "wait, am I invisible"? The lady behind the counter, instead of waiting on me says" I have to go in the back, be right back"! I spoke kind of loudly, I am out of here, and will not tolerate that kind of service. It was my sister's birthday and we ate at Sea Basin right next door. I've been meaning to come to Tilda's for a while now but just never had the right occasion to get something. My job was going on about one of their pastries so I'm glad I got to check it out. The line moved quickly and we were helped right away. My sister didn't know what she wanted but knew she wanted chocolate. So I asked the person, "what is your best selling chocolate cake?" He said, "chocolate cake layered with chocolate mousse, covered in chocolate ganache". I said, "that's the one, thank you!" It was the last one, too! This review is just for the jelly donuts. I purchased 4. The donuts themselves are delicious and may be the best on long island. But 3 of 4 had maybe a small spoonful of jelly in them. The last one I gave up and combined it with a jar of smuckers raspberry because the jelly content was so low. I do not understand why so many bakeries do this. Do not cheap out on the jelly. Charge more if you have to. But when a donut has 8 bites and only 2 have jelly in them, that's not good. read more

So disappointed. Have been a customer for nearly 20 years and decided to have them create a cake for our engagement photos, unfortunately the simplest ask of "all white cake with white roses" wasn't met. Upon ordering 4 days before and making a visit to double confirm everything 2 days before, I came to pick up the cake with green stems, when I explicitly asked for all white everything. Upon voicing my disappointment and stressing the importance of the cake, i was told "nothing we can do the decorator isn't here today." Basically was turned away and charged full price for the cake with no offer of any kind of support for the mistake. Hmm. Turn the car around to check out this small town friendly looking neighborhood bakery with at least three other customers coming in though mid day /mid week. Tilda's since 1955 has its regulars. Saw some gently baked pale looking butter cookies. Tried a few and flavor of the almond butter cookies was fresh and good. Tried the ordinary looking Cannoli . I specifically asked if made with Ricotta or the other way milk/flour. On one bite I could see they were as said made the right way and had exceptional crunch to the shells and flavor. For flavor I rank them right up there with the better known places. Other items similar to most bakeries. Danishes, donuts, cheesecakes, bread etc . All looked fresh. That's a good thing Nearby a Prestano's closed. But still the main one is up in Selden So bakeries are often hard to last with more than one in a town now. This place needs some competition. Lack of options is what makes Tilda's so popular. There are no other bakeries around neighboring towns. I've never had anything bad there. I used to work for a bakery, so I know what really good baked goods should be like, and this isn't it. Everything is ok. Donuts are great. Pizza dough used to be fresh & delicious. now it's frozen and significantly smaller. The stuff baked fresh daily is good. Cakes and cookies that are there for a while before you buy them are decent. I've been going to Tildas bakery for years. I was always very pleased, but I do have to say that as of late, the last two cakes that I purchased have been dry, and they have not tasted fresh. Upon finding out that Tilda's was under new ownership and the owner was a Reinwald, I made the trip to try out some of their baked goods. Rye bread was as good as Reinwald's (Huntington, RIP) was. Jelly donuts were fantastic. Upon being previously disappointed in Buttercooky's (bought Reinwald's in Huntington) bastardized take on a Black Forest Cake - newsflash, there is NO vanilla cake in a Black Forest Cake! - my wife got a Black Forest Cake for my birthday last weekend from Tilda's and it looked and tasted the same as I remembered from Reinwald's. Tilda's will be our new go to bakery, even if it means making the longer drive. So worth it! Great job Dan & crew! read more

Tilda's used to be the best but I just had a chocolate eclair that was absolutely awful. It tasted stale, the custard in the middle was frozen and tasted horrible, and they added the custard by slicing the eclair in half - it wasn't piped in like it usually is. If you get used to buying you bread where you buy your groceries, there's something that your missing out on. Sure Stopping and Shopping for everything all at once has some convenience and the King is so close that it seems wasteful to make a trip all the way to a Stand-alone bakery JUST to get bread. But if your thinking this, you've clearly forgotten what f real fresh baked bread smells like. Let that aroma fill you car for the ride home and and you;ll know that this is the only way to go. Asked if they had lemon meringue and was told special order. Cool! I have zero problem with special ordering. The ordering process was simple. I wish that I knew special order meant that they never make this. Lemon filling was good - tart and smooth - just wonderful, but there was a layer of breadcrumb between the meringue and the filling, which, I've never seen before. Creating this awful, off putting texture. The meringue itself didn't appear whipped all the way. Instead of being smooth and glossy it looks like sea-foam and has the same texture. Take out Date: January 31, 2015 When I got together with my husband and some of his friends to geek out with a star wars pen & paper role playing game we decided to have a pot luck dinner. The game manager got two pies from here for dessert. The pies were okay. The apples in the apple pie had a cinnamon flavor to them, the crust reminded me of an apple pie from the grocery store though. The chocolate creme pie was okay too. I liked the pudding but the whipped cream was just okay and I felt like there wasn't a great balance between the ratio of whipped cream and chocolate pudding. I feel so sad even writing this not only did they ruin my sons birthday cake but they were beyond rude about it... Iam not one to complain or give people a hard time but this cake was just unacceptable. I was hung up on and spoken to very rudely. I felt extremely disrespected I reached out to the bakery by e-mail a month prior to the event for a birthday cake after not hearing back i called and was told the e-mail was not correct on their website.... After i got intouch with them I gave them 2 cakes to pick from to see if they could make it because i did need it to be vegan.. They picked out of the two and promised that they could do it . The cake looks nothing like what we asked for and we paid 120.00 for it , i would have went with another cake or a different bakery but they were dishonest about it. When i had called and told them about the cake the guy was so rude to me and kept hanging up on me... My husband was able to get 50.00 back because we do understand the cake costs money to make we weren't at all trying to pull a fast one and get a free cake out if this it was just so bad and so disappointing. The weren't even sympathetic , or apologetic... they were so rude and that's what made this even more upsetting ... there was no compassion . Again i am not one to make trouble and give people a hard time but this was just so unfortunate and disappointing . This cake was an absolute joke and we will not ever be returning to this bakery and advise others to do the same.. It is sad people run their business like this . This cake will forever be in every picture of my sons big day and a horrible memory to say the very least . We got a few various items and everything was delicious and the service was very friendly. But one item in particular made me write this review. I got an individual banana cream pie tart. Yes I should have taken picture..but it's too late now. It was absolutely phemononal... Not the typical banana flavored pudding in a pie shell. This was actually fresh made with real bananas.
