Got a suit. There was a mistake by the new sales guy and he gave me wrong info on the particular suit. I bought it with the info he gave me. It ended up not being correct. I was disappointed and upset with my first experience. Arman contacted me and offered a full refund. I was taken back. No excuses he just said "I'm going to take care of you, don't worry. I'll give you full refund." No excuses, no sales tactics, just a call saying he's going to take care of me. Just wow. I ended up loosing the pants to the suit. Because how he handled all this, I was going to just go purchase another pants. But he ended up giving me a full refund anyway and told me to keep the top because I can still make an awesome wardrobe with it by pairing with different color bottom. He was right. I chose to go with Xerxe's to have my suit custom ordered and tailored for my wedding earlier this month, and I am so incredibly thankful that I did. I was looking at a number of different places trying to find the right suit that I wanted for my wedding, and Xerxes was the one and only place that worked with me to really make sure that I was able to get what I needed as well as make suggestions that I hadn't even considered, but was glad they brought up. I was able to get everything I needed, from the suit, shoes, tie, cuff links, and they even made it so easy for my groomsmen to get their suits from them as well. This also included making it easy for groomsmen from out of state (and even out of country) to get their suits from them, as they were able to do measurements over the phone and walk them through the process. They are an incredible family run business, with everyone there in the store working to make you look as good as possible, not for the sake of making a sale, but because they legitimately want you to be impressive for the wedding (which I'm thankful to say I was and was so satisfied). This is the most ideal place to buy clothes. I am a very particular person in my fashion sense. Being that I am a comic book writer, I still like to have a sort of bohemian vibe to my style. A great place with a lot of great inventory. If you're looking for a fine haberdashery, this is it. I do have to admit the owner if it was really was set on hard selling me. I was going to buy something maybe look around. Give a man some space, he'll eventually find something. Ended up buying a few ties and socks just to get out of there. This was like a total Seinfeld situation. I'm used to shopping at Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom's, so I sort of have an idea of what clothes I am seeking. Benjamin and Arman made getting ready for my brother's wedding as smooth and painless as possible. I came in on a Monday with the wedding being on that Saturday. I needed my suit (jacket and pants) altered as well as new shoes and and a belt. Arman and Benjamin both have wonderful and modern tastes. I'm a long and lean fellow who always has issues finding articles, especially suits, that fit properly. Benjamin had wonderful ideas for making the suit I had purchased a perfect fit for me, a stylish contemporary look. Benjamin told me the suit would be ready Thursday, however, I came in on Wednesday to see what kind of progress had been made. To my surprise, the suit was ready. I had already purchased the beautiful matching shoes and belt and was able to try on the whole ensemble just two days after entering the shop. I have been going to Xerxes since I started grad school in Claremont in 2007. At the time I was a poor student and mostly spent time chatting with Arman and he knew this and still gave me as much time as he could, knowing I couldn't afford almost anything at that point. I made a goal to be able to get a wardrobe from his shop and repay him for all of the time, great conversations and advice that he gave me over the years, as we always stayed in touch. I was open about my intention to purchase the suit in Thailand on a trip, but needed the measurements to send ahead. Even with this knowledge, Arman spent a good hour of his time assisting me with every detail of the fitting to the requirements of the overseas producer at no charge. The store is well maintained and quaint. Arman is quite knowledgeable and has a modern style sensibility.
