One of a kind place. Been shopping here for many years. Friendly employees and the quality of their products is incomparable.

It took me a very long time to become accustom to not calling it Joe's (for those of us that have been customers that long).

It had a ton of stuff on it which I love. Some of it was pickles, hots, oil. Hit pepper spread, sweet peppers and a lot more. All veggies tasted fresh. The guy said it was the biggest sub he's ever made. Good subs on good rolls. Sandwiches and subs range from $6 to $11. Avalon isn't cheap eats so the prices are on par for the area. Will probably go there again tomorrow for another beach lunch. Wife had the egg salad which she enjoyed.

Stopped in for breakfast sandwiches and they conveniently have them pre-made in a warming case. The pre-made are on brioche rolls which were soft and delicious. They will make them on kaiser rolls or bagels if you prefer. Sandwiches are large and delicious. Got egg salad sandwich on a roll and my hubby got the "Zeus" which was over flowing with yummy goodness. Great place to grab on the go or sit outside in the cafe style seating. Ernest & Son Meat Market - The Paulie, the eggplant was perfect thin and crispy and the long hot peppers and provolone was the perfect touch!

The place itself is…read morenicely decorated with a cool Philly theme, and I appreciated the variety of Philly-style sandwiches and specials on the menu. Unfortunately, the service really fell short. It took way too long just to be acknowledged. The hostess was friendly, but the big man behind the counter, looked right past me twice and took another customer's order before mine. Thankfully, a younger gentleman stepped in and took my order, which I appreciated. As for the food, the cheesesteak was very disappointing. It lacked seasoning completely, and the only thing that somewhat saved it was the extra ketchup I added. I couldn't even finish it there, I ended up taking it home and fixing it myself just to make it edible. Being a Philly native, I had higher expectations. The hoagies are actually good, but the cheesesteaks just don't live up to what you'd expect. Overall, not the worst experience, but definitely not one I'd rush back for.
