There are mixed reviews at this Chevrolet dealership in Kannapolis, NC. I did not have any desire to purchase a vehicle here. They were one of the first dealerships who were notified of a possible sale of my current vehicle. Even though prices are set, this dealership did attempt to lowball my offer amount. Once I hinted that there were 3 other dealerships who would honor the cash price for the used vehicle, they relented. After this stage, things became smoother and more collegial with the sales rep. I wish I could give this place zero stars. I went to Tim Marburger Chevrolet hoping to buy a car. I knew my credit wasn't great, but I had money for a down payment and was trying to get some help. Things quickly became uncomfortable when I overheard staff making inappropriate comments about me. The sales manager, Tyler, promised he could get me approved, but that didn't happen. Later, he contacted me outside of work in a way that was completely unprofessional and made me feel taken advantage of. He made me feel super uncomfortable texting me while "intoxicated", he then promised that if I listened and "helped" him he would help me... I feel extremely used because In the end, I never got a car--just a really upsetting experience. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

Don't buy a new vehicle from here , they don't warranty what they sell. My daughter bought a new vehicle and had problems in less than a month from day of purchase. She was left stranded 4 times because the car wouldn't start. Luckily she knows a few things about car. So she was able to jump start to get home. When directly to the dealership the 3rd time this happened and was ignored by salesman and service. We had a beach trip and it happened again. So here she is , out of town and stranded again. We knew it had to be the battery so me being a Dad , I went out and bought a new battery. I installed it and she has had to problems . Came back to dealership to see if they would warranty the battery. No luck . Even charged her a fee to look at the car. This is BS . I was in the market to buy another car but will be going somewhere else. read more

Purchased a new 2025 Equinox LT on 11/30/2024, they transferred my tag from my trade in to the new car. It has been 12-days and they still haven't paid off my trade in. And it's now showing late in my credit report. I applied for a small Christmas loan with the credit union where I have the car financed and they turned me down because my car payment is late thanks to Marburger. ORIGINAL REVIEW NOVEMBER 2024 (5 STARS) Nice people to deal with during a new traverse purchase. More of an old school way of doing business which has unfortunately been lost by many. Will be back for our next purchase. AMENDED REVIEW 5/31/25 (1 STAR) Just over 30 days and 1,000 miles in to our 2025 Traverse ownership period the car's transmission failed while traveling approx. 70 MPH down I95 about 4 hours from home. My pregnant wife, 1 year old child, and dog were stuck on the side of 95, 4 hours from home and 4 hours from our destination. I do not blame Tim Marburger for the mechanical issues on the car. However the now 5 month back and forth with Chevrolet I put a lot of blame because it never felt like they had my back. I called them the day this happened asking what I should do. It was constant episodes of me calling them with little to no response for days/weeks. For example, Chevrolet wouldn't give me a rental car at the dealership in Savannah, GA and Chevrolet corporate said I would not be getting reimbursed for the entire value. If somebody at TMC could have just assured me they would make sure I was made whole I could have gotten past things, however it took weeks for anyone to sort of acknowledge maybe I shouldn't' be on the hook for the $900 rental car bill. This was just one of the many issues I would have expected my purchasing dealer to have my back and fight on my behalf. I was told this would be between me and Chevrolet. It took about a month for us to get our car back and obviously a lot of concern from my wife about the reliability. She is very nervous about the car suddenly losing power again while in three lanes of interstate traffic. Ultimately I had to file a claim with the BBB in order to get an additional year of power train coverage. I didn't get anything else or even demand anything else outside of my rental car reimbursement. Considering the over 30 hours of time I have put into this, calling various dealerships, Chevrolet corporate and the BBB I would have thought someone may have wanted to do something else even a courtesy check in call, but nothing like that has happened. To me that is just a reflection of how they handled the entire situation. I highly recommend steering clear of TMC because if you do have an issue you will be on your own. If you just want to buy a car, again it was a great process, but I am very disappointed about this very real situation. read more

first off the people at the service department are wonderful to work with but the technicians are not. strike one, I took my c7 corvette up there for an oil change. yes it's lowered and I understand that but the kid that changes oil has no consideration for other peoples car. He was pulling it off the ramp the blocks came out from underneath the car causing the car to drop down. Did he get out to try and fix the block? NO , i literally watched him drag my front splitter all the way down the ramp. Yes I flipped out and said some choice words about it but I'll never take my c7 back again. strike two, had a new exhaust put on my c8 corvette, had to take it to them for a valve re-learn. both of my cars stay spotless because I take the to shows. when I went to pick it up, it looked like someone left it out in the back parking lot with the windows down and the hole car was covered in dirt. strike three and once the fix my car it will never go back.Took it up there to have them check the brake system after I put my calipers back on after having them powder coated. picked it up got a block up the road and notice a stain on my middle console "brake fluid" I licked my thumb hoping it would rub off and it didn't. So I turned around and went right back. They had a guy come out with cleaning stuff to see if he could get it off...... he bleached my console. Took the color right out of it. I will not bring any of my cars back to that place. I would not advise anyone to take their car there either!! read more

Scheduled an appointment on their website to have oil change for Dec 24 at 830 at least a week in advance. They even confirmed the appt. Arrived 815 and the service dept was closed. A sales manager who had just started the job a week ago approached me to let me know the service dept was closed all day. I showed him on my phone the appt confirmation from the dealership. He attempted to call his manager with no luck. I left that dealership and drove a mile down the road to Hilbish Ford. They took me in even though I wasnt scheduled. Here is the kicker of it all. I came into a little bit of money and wanted to buy a new Chevrolet Truck as I havent had a new one in a long time and needed something reliable. Well definitely not buying from them. And may even decide to buy a Ford. They have some really nice deals. read more

very poor service see the google review of 3-11-25. be forwarned the service tech that works on vehicles just dont care and leaves a very sloppy mess and does not put oil inside truck, does not address check engine lights and forget doing your state inspection its on the ticket but neh its not necessary. dont take your vehicle here! oh and i guess they hide the shop manager still have not spoken to him yet he is busy! it doesnt matter if you have a vehicle-truck with 10 miles 60,000 miles they will not do their job and not tell you of any issues especially if it is closing time! should they not ask you to come back if you wait 1hr and 16min past your appointment and they had a hard day and would like to start fresh the next day? they totally suck do take your truck-car- boat-scooter some place else do not take it here they cant even keep techs- again be forwarned! read more

This dealership is one of the most dysfunctional and badly operated dealerships I have ever had the displeasure of associating with. A very close friend has had his car with them in the service department for nearly a month. On top of the unnecessarily lengthy stay of his car, he is also being charged for services that are 'a shot in the dark' to fix his long standing issue. I have never interacted with a dealership that was so uninformed on their own product. If you have to take a shot in the dark to fix the car you're suppose to be an expert on, that no longer falls under the category of the consumers issue to pay for. On top of that, the things they admit were unnecessary to fix his issue were still something they expected payment for. Hundreds, nearing thousands, of dollars have been spent to try to pinpoint the issue Classic Chevrolet just cannot seem to grasp. Is it a computer issue? A gas issue? Is a tire falling off? Is the whole damn car faulty? I'm not sure Classic Chevrolet would know the difference at this point. Service department is short, lacking empathy, snarky, and ill informed. If you want a dealership that takes your (potentially incredibly hazardous) car issue seriously then this dealership is not for you. If I could rate 0/5 stars I would do so immediately. Still waiting on this dealership to pinpoint their next issue they 'think it might be' so here's to hoping someone more competent is taking care of it this time, but I'm doubtful. read more

Just a real pleasure to work with her....Getting approved was quick and a breeze. The finance department explained the paperwork very efficiently... Fay Hibbert wanted to make sure I was driving off the lot with a nice Suv that had been checked over from top to bottom. I recently purchased a 2015 Tahoe from the team at Classic Chevrolet of Kannapolis, and I cannot say enough good things about this dealership. After fighting Charlotte traffic, it was nearly 7:30 p.m. by the time we pulled onto the lot (not long before the scheduled closing time) with the intention of simply test driving a car. I had spoken with Lauren Early over the phone to confirm the car I had my eyes on was still available, and she promptly greeted us upon our arrival. We had the pleasure of working with Steve Porter as our salesman, and he was not only extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle, but quite enthusiastic as well. After a nice little test drive, my heart was set, and this team worked their magic to get me in an amazing car at an amazing price, staying well past closing time to seal the deal and complete all of the necessary paperwork. To say they went above and beyond would be an understatement. New car manager Dean Girgenti and Finance Director Bill Erwin never made me feel rushed at any point during the process, despite the fact that it was quite late in the evening. I returned the following day to complete the trade of my previous car, and Steve offered to give me an extremely thorough technology lesson, helped set up the vehicle's OnStar and introduced me to the service team. The "Buy Back Event" invitation, terms and conditions, is a misrepresentation. They do not use the new MSRP as a starting point but instead refer to local auction wholesale prices, which is not stated in the invitation letter. Even worse, the management at Classic Chevrolet of Kannapolis North Carolina is indifferent to this significant discrepancy. Recently we received an offer from this dealership to buy back our car at the new MSRP, less 45 cents per mile, less any required repairs. I called this dealership to verify the offer and confirm that it was not contingent on a new car purchase. I also confirmed my car's MSRP and mileage deduction. The manager shared that I was correct in all of my interpretations but that they would need to see the car, that the deal was only good for five days, that they were currently short of clean used cars. I own four cars and the particular car that they wanted to buy is in pristine condition with very, very, low miles. The next day I took time out to go the dealership and was offered some $17,000 less than their published, agreed to MSRP calculation. The sales manager offered that the car was in excellent condition and did not require any updates. I then asked how he could possibly come up with an offer that was so substantially below what had been calculated and agreed to. He asked to read the invitation letter. He then said I would have to take it up with the General Manager, that he, the GM, would probably not be available for another forty-five minutes. The Sales Manager then offered that he could increase the offer if I wanted to trade the car in. I left. I called the GM later that afternoon and asked for an explanation. I think the term "indifference" best describes Mr. Reeves attitude, as he dismissed the personalized letter, with clear MSRP terms and conditions, as merely advertising and acted as though he had no problem with whether it was truthful or not. At that point I could see exactly what I was dealing with. I then called the dealership back and asked for the name and mailing address of the owner, in the hope that maybe the owner did not know what was going on. I was refused that information and instead directed back to the people who had already misled me. Perhaps this dealership is in such financial hardship that it no longer values such business practices as honesty, integrity, or customer courtesy? There are many decent car dealerships in our area; unfortunately, in my opinion, Classic Chevrolet of Kannapolis is no longer one of them. Let the Buyer Beware; these guys will say, publish, almost anything, and worse do not seem the least bit apologetic about it. read more
