I picked up a part yesterday and will put the part on myself. Just to see where the pricing is for their service department to put on the inner tail light, I asked a group of gentlemen sitting in the service area as I exited the building. William "JR" Guevara "Immediately," engaged me in conversation. At first it was just, what I assumed, as friendly banter. However, of the 5 minutes I stood there talking with the 4 guys present, Mr. Guevara responded to everything I was talking about in a negative and passive aggressive manner. The older gentleman sitting there had to cover his face in disgust a few times this banter went back and forward. I eventually walked off after trying to relinquish myself from this verbal abuse exhibited by an employee of Hendrick BMW which has always shown the uttmost respect from Austin to Charlotte. Inquired online about a an X3 M I was interested in. Dealership reached out and we discussed vehicle options and condition. Was told that is was in excellent condition (which is true) and that it had "full PPF". Test drive vehicle, opened the hood and saw PPF wrap and decided to buy. Unfortunately, once I got home I noticed the PPF was not on the full vehicle, but only on the front clip. Called them back and was directly lied to - claiming he said it was only on the front bumper (which isn't true either). Very disappointed with the deceit and lack of ownership of the issue. Asked to have the manager call me and no one has reached out 5 hours later. Please be wary of this dealership and get everything in writing if you do choose to buy from them. read more

September 6, 2025 If I could give this dealership 0 stars, I would. My mother (Tory) and I dealt with Client Advisor Tarique Thomas, and the experience was nothing short of deceptive and unprofessional. I came in with a pre-approval from my credit union and was clear about wanting an X1 with the M Sport package. Tarique said it might need to be ordered or located, which was fine. Later, he called saying he found something. When I returned, it was a completely different car, priced $10,000 higher than what I requested. It felt like a deliberate bait-and-switch. When I asked for a bill of sale so my bank could finalize the loan, Tarique refused unless I put down a $1,000 deposit -- just to receive the bill of sale. This is not standard practice and is something I have never encountered at any other dealership. A deposit should only apply to an agreed-upon order, not just for a piece of paper. When I questioned this, Tarique became dismissive and rude, even saying "ain't much going to come off the price." He then went to finance, who backed him up, making it clear this was a coordinated tactic between sales and finance. This was not just bad customer service -- it was a predatory sales practice. If this is how Hendrick BMW Northlake operates, I strongly urge BMW corporate to review these tactics because they will absolutely destroy CSI scores and customer trust. We had been car shopping for almost an entire year for a sedan for our new driver in the family. We visited dealerships in Matthews, Pineville, South Blvd., Indian Trail and test drove Volvo, Mazda, Lexus, Cadillac, Subaru, Acura, Lincoln, Honda and couldn't find a car we loved that was in our budget. We finally stopped at BMW Northlake and Grey gave us a PERFECT experience!! He explained the differences of each car we liked and let us test drive every car we asked about. We got to drive used and new to compare the differences. He was extremely flexible with our schedule and was NOT pushy at all - just gave us quick and knowledgeable answers to every single question. He truly had our best interests at heart by not pushing the new vehicle, but the used, which was better for our budget and best for our teenager. The car is GORGEOUS and in excellent condition. He even put the car up on the lift so we could look under and it was in like new condition. They were very fair on the price and Isaiah in the business office didn't push any extra warranty that we didn't need. Isaiah was very easy to work with too and made the deal so quick and easy. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND asking for Grey as he took the stress out of looking for a great used car with a wonderful certified preowned that still had 2 years warranty left!! It all began when I had my oil changed and a state inspection done in another state. I was driving from Pennsylvania to Virginia, on my way to Charlotte, and planned to stay overnight in a hotel in Virginia before continuing my journey. The service provider (this is a different company) who did my oil change mentioned they couldn't reset the service reminder/error message on the screen. So, as I was driving to Virginia, my car kept flashing "Oil pressure low." It was 11 PM, and I had no idea where to stop. Assuming it was just the reminder not being reset, as the service provider had informed me, I made it to the hotel. However, the next day, my car wouldn't start, making loud knocking noises and making jumpy movements. I didn't restart my car and had my car towed from Virginia to this Hendrick BMW dealer, and a couple of days later, they called to inform me that the car didn't have enough engine oil--only one quart! They recommended replacing the entire engine and quoted a whopping $27,000 for a remanufactured engine and $19,000 for a used engine with 79k miles. Even my 2016 car wouldn't resale for that price. First of all, I had to call them multiple times to understand what was going on, but that's understandable as they might have been busy selling or fixing new cars. Here's the part that I still don't understand and the reason for this rating: The car, for which they said needed an engine replacement, doesn't require replacement and is running perfectly fine now. I towed it from this BMW dealer to another place called Euroenvy. Euroenvy asked all the right questions and ran thorough diagnostics. After a complete test run, they discovered that my engine didn't need replacement at all! The issue was a leaking oil drain plug, stripped by the first place that did the oil change. They fixed it, test-ran the car, checked for any leaks, and found none. They charged me $243 for the service, and my car has been running super fine ever since--no leakage, no error message, and the engine is just fine. This is the same engine that this BMW dealer said needed replacement. $27,000 for remanufactured engine and $19,000 for used engine. This experience wasn't just about the money; it was a combination of money and the agony we went through the whole time. On what basis did my car require an engine replacement? Did they even perform the diagnostic to see what went wrong with my car? I could have towed my car to any place but trusting BMW dealer is why i towed it here. HUGE MISTAKE!! I can think of two possible reasons why this happened: either they wanted to sell me a new or another car, or they thought my car was old and didn't want to waste their time on it. Either way, it was an unacceptable service. If they were busy, they should have simply informed me and asked me to go elsewhere. There are many ways to earn money in this world, but taking advantage of someone's agony and pain to make a profit is never acceptable. I am NOT expecting anything from this dealership. I am ONLY writing this review to ensure other customers who might be in the same situation like me can make an informed decision. read more

First thing's first: Ligon Washington is the best car sales associate east of the Mississippi. Contact him directly via his email or phone. After test driving a Mercedes GLC Coupe, an X6 with a big red bow in the delivery bay caught my eye at BMW. The X4 is the X6's next of kin; a little smaller and a little less $, so the decision was easy. I went in and was able to get in and out in under 2 hours. Very simple process to order. The required deposit will fluctuate based on the type of vehicle and what is ultimately how easily they would be able to sell the car should you back out. My order cost was only $1k. However, if I wanted a less common color than white, it could've been more. I ordered on 12/1, and was advised that my car would go into production in early February. I was given an estimate on the price of the build, but no financials were locked in. If you expect that interest rates to increase (as is the trend these days), there is a possibility of going ahead, running your credit and locking in a rate to your benefit. Ligon contacted me when my car went into production, 1/11/23 (nearly a month earlier than anticipated). By 1/27, she was ready for pickup. In between the first notification and delivery, I was able to register with BMW and follow progress. I tried to do as much negotiating before going in to pick up my car. However, the reality is that I ordered a less common vehicle. Also, car lots aren't full these days and our days of driving to the lot, choosing between one of the hundreds of new cars on the lot, and getting a good deal are coming to an end. It leaves the buyer with less bargaining power, but so be it. Ligon met every reasonable request that I had. Beware, after you agree to a purchase price, you will be offered other expensive service options by the finance manager. For someone who hates the car buying process and haggling, this was like pulling teeth. There are options for an extended warranty, extended maintenance options, wheel coverage, GAP coverage, seat protection, and dent/paint coverage. All of which can be valuable options and save you money in the long run depending on how long you plan to keep the car. The decision making with the finance manager, Chris, made for a long night. In the end we got it hashed out. I came back later in the week to get a BMW "genius" to show me all of the features of the car, and set up my BMW profile. Austin took his time and showed me everything. I've been driving my husband's 2021 X4 and there were several new features, so the session proved to be very worthwhile. Ligon agreed to throw in some all weather floor mats during my purchase. So I got those ordered and a few swag items. Ligon made this entire process smooth and had an answer for every question. I never felt like I was in a high pressure situation. More of him just waiting for me to make up my mind on what I wanted. Ligon was such a smooth operator in assisting me with everything. I felt like he bent over backwards to assist me. Communication was top notch. He was great in letting me know what to expect and exceeding all of my expectations. I still need to set up my trip to BMW driving school down in SC. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. Ligon made this process stress free and dare I say enjoyable. I felt like a made a friend in the process and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that if you're considering BMW that you buy it. It's truly the ultimate driving machine. I am updating my review after a recent service appointment. While the service on my vehicle was excellent (5/5), the loaner...not so much. It suddenly started to pour down rain. I turned on the wipers and the driver's side blades was broken in half. It looked like a nub was trying to clear the windshield. On top of that, the vehicle was filthy leading me to believe it was not cleaned, and definitely not sanitized before turning it over to me. Peeps, beware and take proper precautions when driving off in a loaner. For the loaner, I will give them a 1/5. read more

I'm really over Hendrick motors, MB and BMW in particular. Recently I came in to buy a new X5. I'm very car savvy and a professional sales consultant so really wasn't up to any of the dealership games. Yet here we go. Looking at a particular car that had most of the features I wanted but lacked others I was inclined to weigh the pros and cons. First, no tow hitch. They said it'd be easy to just buy a hide a hitch to put into the car. That hide a hitch is more expensive than one from factory and takes 7+ hours on install on a X5. So that's not really a solution. Same with side steps, pricier than factory and a 2+ hour install. So instead of recognizing this and discussing the value of the current vehicle they had they went straight into hard sales negotiations. Again, I'm in no mood for that nor is any reasonable consumer these days. Then we went to trade in my older Mercedes. They said "sounds like the lifters are bad and we might have to take it to auction" so they only offered a ridiculously low trade in on it. Look, I know they need to make money on a trade in but be honest. The lifters are fine. I knew they were fine and my mechanic double checked and agreed. It was just a lie. A scare tactic. Finally, when we agree on a price they added $1000 worth of extras we told them we didn't want. Just completely didn't listen and we're shocked when I wasn't going to pay full price for things I didn't want. Now I'm here at the dealership getting the tint fixed that I didn't ask for. Nice 2.5 hours wasted on a Saturday. I also thought long and hard about calling the sales rep out by name on here, but I won't. If they're reading this it's imperative they step up their game. I can't recall a more apathetic and unresponsive sales rep which is astonishing given this $75k purchase. Sure, they made this sale but I'm not buying from that rep or Hendrick again. Will that break the company or that specific rep? Nope, but I have to assume a company or sales rep would want to be on good terms with a buyer that tends to get a new luxury vehicle every 3-4 years. I suppose I'll be getting my next car, an M8, elsewhere. read more

I hate the service department at Hendrick BMW Northlake! We purchased the maintenance plus package, what a waste! It takes 2 to 3 hours for an oil change, no one ever lets you know that they are running behind or that this is a low priority for them. The last time I got my oil changed they said that my car would need the bakes and rotors done next. Amanda explained that the rotors would most likely not be covered by the package and we would have to pay $1200+ for those. She said that if they weren't below the BMW standard then it wouldn't be covered under the package, so why buy the package? I came home and told my husband what she said and he called and spoke to Cody and Cody said it would be covered, great. I called and left message for Cody to get my service appointment booked but he never returned the call. Randomly the BWM service center called because my service notification came on for my brakes and they wanted to get my appointment scheduled, great. I asked not to have Amanda again, but guess who I got today! She once again explained that I was going to have to pay for the rotors, i let her know that my husbanded called and was told that they would be covered, we went back and forth. She got the assistant manger and I ended up leaving without getting my car serviced! He is looking into what happened but I would rather drive to Winston Salem then go back there again. I've never had a great experience here. I would not recommend purchasing the plus package and as much as I love my car this will be my only BMW! read more

Watch out for the bait and switch with this dealership. I drove all the way from Atlanta to purchase a vehicle based on the specs that they listed on their website. Specifically, they listed their vehicle as a M competition model which made the eight hour round-trip seem worthwhile. I even confirmed with the sales rep that the specs were correct before making this trip. They hire 3rd party staff from some company used by all those dealers in the area so they're not specialized in BMW or probably anything based on their performance. Few years ago, they put some superficial scratches on the leather steering wheel during an oil change, then did a horrendous job buffing out a scratch on the front bumper (ended up having to repaint the whole bumper) and now they stole a pair of sunglasses. I am writing this review to inform future buyers for a BMW that Hendrick BMW of Northlake during my experience is dishonest, lacking credibility and doesn't live up to the Hendrick name that has been synonymous with Charlotte for decades. I have been trying to resolve an issue with them about a lie I was told by their New Car Sales Manager, Antoine Short. I was looking over the spec on the BMW 4 series and I noticed that the top speed was either 130 mph or 155 mph and I asked him if the top speed was 155. He told me that all BMW's for the last 5 year do 155 mph. On March 11th, 2021 when went to Hendrick NorthLake BMW to purchase a new BMW 330. I decided not to purchase that vehicle but ended up buying a 2021 BMW 430i, but before signing the contract on the vehicle I spoke with Antoine the Sales Manager and asked him directly if the vehicle had a top speed of 155 mph as advertised on their website. He stated to me that all their vehicles do 155 mph. It wasn't until a couple of weeks later that I found out that the BMW 2021 430I that I purchased doesn't do 155. It only goes to 130mph. I like to take my cars to the track and that's why this was important to me. I also found out later that each vehicle has dealer notes that state whether the top speed limiter has been increased or not. The top speed limiter increase feature allows the vehicle to go up to 155 mph. Antoine could've taken a couple of moments to read the dealer notes at the time of purchase before answering the question dishonestly. Once I found out that the information Antoine gave me was incorrect, I went to NorthLake Hendrick BMW and wanted to speak with a manager. I ended up speaking with Brian Kauffman on April 7th. I explained the entire situation to him and he assured me that he would make things right. He told me that he or the general manager would contact me back but I never heard back from anyone. When I didn't hear back I decided to go to another BMW dealership to purchase the same model car but made sure this time that the dealer notes stated that the top speed limiter was a feature. I made sure to have the sales person put that in writing for me. Since, this incident happened to me, I have sent many people in my network to other BMW dealerships such as BMW of Columbia, Crown BMW and Flow BMW. I will say what to you what I've said to many people who are thinking of BMW NorthLake, make sure you get everything in writing and if necessary, record the conversation because you will have an extremely difficult time proving the deception that happens with BMW NorthLake. Finally, BMW NorthLake needs to hold their managers and sales associates more accountable and understand that the car sale is only the beginning. You must have integrity and a commitment to honest customer service, admit when you've made a mistake and also verify information before giving misleading or false information to a potential customer. read more

UPDATE: The general manager called after this review was posted and reversed the previous managers decision and covered the idrive - the right and ethical thing to do. However, during the original visit, I was told I needed new tires (bought it in April). Last week, during the idrive/controller fix, a different person came back with completely different tread measurements and told me no tires needed. The vast discrepancy makes the business not trustworthy. Is this because I'm a female? Or just a trusting customer? On the positive, my service advisor Andrew was amazing. If not for him, I would take this issue a lot further. Previous post: I bought a used x5 earlier this year. the sales process was so long that I was pushed for time and asked to have my overview of the car after I returned from a trip I was late for. When I returned, the "genius" - "Cole", found the idrive controller sticking and advised a replacement. we agreed I would get it done during my next service, which was now. the sales manager just informed me it wouldn't be covered. Even though Cole confirmed it was an issue when I bought my car, apparently fixing it comes out of sales revenue (and my sales guy is gone). This seems so unethical and wrong! read more

Had quite the interesting experience with BMW today. It all started this am when we put through a request online to test drive a particular vehicle that we were interested in. Almost immediately, an email, text and phone call followed by not one - but two - BMW representatives both eager to get us into the dealership to test drive the new vehicle and purchase our trade. I'm thinking "here we go..". So we made reservations for this evening. When we arrived, our experience was very different. The client advisor who greeted us and walked us to our desk ended up being the person to crunch the numbers for us. Not going to lie, I thought this person was simply getting the process started before handing it over to an actual salesperson. For some reason that's how I thought I remembered it in past visits. Anyway when we looked at the car things went ok. When it came time to get down to business, they couldn't answer a lot of questions that I would consider typical for a sale. Like the residual value, how changes to certain numbers impacted the monthly payment/down payment. There were discrepancies in our payoff and the monthly payment between estimates and we couldn't seem to get a solid explanation. Not because they were trying to fast talk, it felt more like they didn't know. This didn't make me very confident that the answers we were receiving were accurate as they back peddled a couple times and seemed unsure when responding a couple more. Although very nice, I don't believe this was a seasoned person; and that's ok, we all have to start somewhere - but if someone less experienced is in this role, I would expect one of two things: 1) have someone more experienced close by or 2) that they validate responses being provided to questions being asked of them instead of guessing. A number of times it felt like they were guessing just to respond, but not that the response was legitimate. Comparing to other dealer sales experiences, you go from someone who is very "pitchy" to someone who is looking like they couldn't be more ready for you to leave. Completely frustrating. Because we actually did want to purchase a car! So instead of the advisor doing what a salesperson does and trying relentlessly to get us to locate a vehicle, it was the exact opposite. We were literally sitting on our phones looking at all of the websites for the Hendrick dealers in the area and going through their inventory to narrow it down to what we were looking for. While the advisor is sitting there looking at us. No lie. I've never seen anything quite like it. I had to ask that they look on the computer in front of them to see if there were other local options that fit our criteria. Apparently there weren't. At this point I am beyond annoyed and 100% ready to go. If you don't want my business, trust I won't beg you to take it. In addition I was very disappointed in the limited inventory as it related to what we were looking for. Although today did not go well, I've had pleasant experiences with sales and service here in the past so I only removed 1 star. But I hope to never have another experience like today. It was the least "sales-y" dealer experience I've had, but honestly I think I prefer the other. The person who is hungry to make a sale, because at least they don't give up easily and they try their hardest to find something to suit you. Today I felt like I was at a grocery store. Update 2/18: Also, we were told by the Finance manager that he would look at inventory the following morning to see what matched the criteria we were looking for and reach out to us with an update. As of the afternoon we hadn't heard anything. I did receive a call from someone asking how the experience went yesterday and I decided to leave out the negative. I simply told her the piece about the Finance mgr and she asked me to give her the details about what I was looking for. So that made me feel no follow through had taken place as I was hoping, this was the following afternoon. I explained to her the same things I mentioned yesterday and she placed me on hold while checking to see if they had any matches. She came back to the line and confirmed they had a couple from what she could see. She stated that she would ask the Finance manager to confirm and that he would follow up with me today. She would then touch base tomorrow to verify that happened and see what my experience was like. It's now after 7:00 pm and we heard NOTHING from our client advisor or the Finance manager. Needless to say I have no interest in working with the sales department at Northlake. I'm disappointed to say the least. And unfortunately I'm removing another star. read more

So - I didn't not purchase my car at this dealership but it was time to get it serviced and this dealership was the closest/most convenient. I called to schedule an appointment to drop off my car and was surprised that I had to wait a week and a half for this drop off appointment. For a simple car servicing! When I arrived at the dealership for drop off, I explained that it was my first time here and was given a quick tour and directed to wait their waiting area (which I thought was nice). It took about 15 minutes for my assigned associate to come find me in the waiting area. It turns out that when the appointment was booked over the phone, they linked THE WRONG CAR to my name and the spelling of my name and address were not fully accurate based on the input information over the phone. Now, that may not sound like A big deal but this is not the $29.99 type servicing, so I do expect more accuracy. Furthermore, not the best first impression. To his credit, he realized someone's error and corrected it and everything was fairly simple after that. They called me two hours later to tell me that my car was ready. Hi, I'm Mr. Cole. So here's the situation, Me and my old lady decided to go get us another beautiful BMW on my birthday a few weeks ago, November 3, 2021 to be exact. The very following weekend we had a business trip to New York, which would make a perfect trip to test our new vehicle out long run. Again beautiful vehicle and buying the vehicle was Super Amazing and relaxing!! But during this trip to New York there was a small issue with the drivers side AC unit, other wise amazing ride. Of course first thing me and the old lady do is take our precious new baby back to the dealer to get that fixed. So we did that, I waited in the lobby from 0930 to around 1300 til I found out that these guys had to order my part. Which could take 3-5 business days. The very next morning around 0745 I received a phone call which told me the part came in which was cool, took my car in, Got a loaner. The following day I called to check status on my vehicle and to find that the part they thought was bad was actually something else instead of what they originally thought. So now we order that part. This time I received a call saying the part came in again the very next day! Which at this point it isn't a fun trip already but I know things happen but, now we should be ok again I would imagine because the correct part is in right?, So I was told the engineer was working on my AC thingy all day Friday, and Saturday. Now im at Major concern on this location because for something so small should be an easy fix for BMW and me just purchasing this vehicle so recently also reading everyone's comments isn't a good look which makes me regret purchasing their warranty. Not to mention this loaner car I had to get permission to take out of town because I had other business but was a Super gas guzzler compared to my vehicle which played a big part in my purchase and of course helped me save cash. Further details, the loaner was sitting under a tree so bird dropping and tree sap was all over the car which was the nastiest thing ever. The lady told me they would wash my car before they give it back to me when I show her how nasty they car was lol which was weird. The car was so nasty when I opened the passenger for my old lady all types of leaves and just imagine other disgusting things. I've had the loaner longer then I've had my vehicle so of course eventually I took it to get a minor detail!! This is terrible because I still don't know when I'll get my vehicle and reading this location's reviews (Northlake Hendricks BMW) it doesn't seem any time soon and I don't think I'll come back to that location for anything other then to buy a car which they may as well be out of the picture if I start service at another location. read more
