A small place that sits on the corner of a major street. I missed it my first try and had to turn around to find it. The service was friendly and laid back. It felt like a family gathering kind of vibe. The food reminded me of home cooking too. My fish was solid along with my sides. Nothing blew away. It did its job. My only knock was the prices of the food and the merchandise was similar to a garage sale. I will returned to try their famous BBQ and a dessert. read more

I wanted so badly to like my food today. I've ordered from here before and it was always on point. I got a cake slice and as I was leaving, I saw a speck of mold (about the size of a pea) on it. I returned to get a refund, though I was asked to get another slice. Upon looking at the cake display once more, I realized there were several that had mold on it. There was one that was quite literally full of mold (you can see the carrot cake slice on the bottom right is a lot more green than the others). I tried not to make a face, because the gentlemen working there were very friendly. I wound up getting a slice from the display stand next to the moldy one (even though I promptly threw it away once I got home.) The food I got was okay. The chicken was a little dry and tough to eat. The chicken could have been hot, fresh, and juicy, but seeing those moldy cakes really just made me not even enjoy the food I got. I don't think I'll be back here. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying, first visit. But I'm torn. Got brisket sandwich only. Maybe try rib tips or wings next time. But.... Brisket was cubed.. some pieces so tough couldn't chew them..some pieces were ok. Also, was very salty. Sauce on side was sweet, so cut down a little if saltiness. My huge hang up.. their prices. Astronomically high. Now I know costs have gone up but $18 for a sandwich??? (20oz included). So let's say $16 for it? No chips, or sides. Just $18 for sandwich. Everything on menu was $20+. Only value seems to be wings at $1.25/ea. I was expecting more meat for $18.. but nope. Wish them best of luck! read more

We'd been at Churchill Downs doing the tourist thing. Needed to eat. Saw this on Yelp and popped over. Big man at the counter said everything was thunder and we couldn't go wrong. Ordered the fried porkchop plate to share. It was fine. But the mac and cheese was the best I've ever had and the greens were definitely top contenders. We also picked up some desserts for later.... Came upon by pure chance. How could you not stop when you're driving by and catch a whiff of delicious smoking meat which they smoke daily? We were here for the Queen B concert and had a taste for some BBQ ribs. Went on Yelp and found Tim Paige's Corner Store. I've never been a great fan of buying que from just anywhere but this place was a great find. The 35 gal drums out front, the fryers out on the side and the smell of wood smoke was the give away. We had ribs, rib tips and chicken with mac and cheese, greens, potato salad and baked beans. Everything was on point the smokey taste on the meat was excellent and oh boy those sides. I was craving a brisket sandwich. I Yelp and this place popped up with 4 to 5 stars. I usually read the lower ratings to make my decision if I want to patronize the establishment, but against my better judgment, I decided to it a try.... first waking into the establishment, I was greeted. The man taking the order was helpful. Once my food was ready, the man brought it out opened it up so that I could see it, another great thing, Now here's where the complaint comes in at..... My total was approximately $41.00. I ordered a brisket sandwich came with two sides and catfish dinner with two sides. I had chosen the mac and cheese and collard greens for one meal and yams and baked beans for the other. The brisket was tough and the bread was soggy, no smoke flavor at all. The single small catfish was thin and crispy. I was disappointed with both protein. Sad and horrible. However the sides were good and decent except for the cornbread which I trashed it, look like it was someone's left over and cold. Overall I was highly disappointed and out of money. read more

This was awful. The cabbage was terrible, like straight terrible. It had no flavor, and I couldn't swallow what I tried of it. Mac N cheese was also bland, the sweet potatoes was a joke. Like a whole joke. The potatoes weren't cooked all the way and the seasoning/flavor was a child's imitation of the dish. The beef sausages were ok but the bread was the right size. My partner ordered the catfish, mashed potatoes & broccoli n cheese. He describes it as 'sadness & disappointment'. I didn't even see broccoli or cheese when I looked at the side dish. I ate 1 1/2 of the beef sausages and we ended up throwing out the rest. read more

Don't let the exterior fool you! This is a must try while in Louisville. You can get it to go or eat in... Not very much for a drink selection but the food was fantastic! The burgers are huge and the chicken was the best we've ever had. There was another couple that ordered the greens and they looked fantastic. Upset that I didn't realize this place existed earlier because its right around the corner from my home. Great BBQ across the board. My recommendation would be the grippo wings or the brisket. One of the few BBQ spots in the city that serves sliced brisket which I prefer over pulled. Not open on Mondays and pretty much a take out spot with little seating for dining in. Pretty decent sized menu and the wait is never very long. Staff is always really cool and accommodating. read more

Just made my first visit to Tim Pages BBQ and I had to write this review as soon as I got back to the hotel. Tough place to find a parking spot. Had to park on a side street and walk over in the pouring rain. The place is small as mentioned in other reviews. Only 4 tables. No problem though as most folks were getting their orders to go. Had a hard time choosing between the ribs and the brisket. Both were mentioned as good in other reviews. Decided to go with brisket and boy I am glad I did. I'm sure the ribs would have been good too, but the brisket was OUTSTANDING!! Without a doubt, the best I have EVER had! I've ate brisket from Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Kansas City and none of it can compare to what I ate tonight! Flavor wAs great, meat was juicy and not a dry bite in the whole dinner. So tender it would cut with a fork. The bark on the outside was wonderful and smoky. I had the greens for a side and I swear my late Grandmothers in Georgia would have been jealous! Both of them! I can't say enough about how great the meal was tonight! The guys behind the counter and in the kitchen were all very friendly. I made sure to tell them how much I enjoyed everything. Have to mention that since it is 50 cent wing Wednesday I bought 6 of those too. I was so full after the meal I had to bring them back to the hotel for a snack later. They do look very good so I don't know how long I can postpone diving into them! I don't get to Louisville but a few times a year. That was another motive for writing this review, so I can remember Tim Page BBQ on my next trip. If you haven't trIed this place yet, what arre you waiting for? You wIll not be disappointed!
