I was excited to try another BBQ place here in Louisville. I have only tried a couple which turned out to be pretty decent and was looking to add to that list. Sadly, this is not a place I would return to. The workers were very nice and helpful so I very much appreciate that, but I have to be honest and say that the food was pretty mediocre. I ordered the brisket sandwich, and for my sides I had the mac n cheese and cole slaw. The brisket wasn't as juicy as I would prefer, and they only had one type of BBQ sauce available which wasn't my favorite so I ate a semi dry brisket sandwich. The sides sounded really good, but these were very disappointing. Neither had much flavor at all. I'm no cook but I've made better mac n cheese and cole slaw for family BBQs. I lived in Texas for several years where I had some amazing BBQ, so maybe my standards are a little higher. I would suggest possibly tweaking some of the recipes especially for the sides to make them more flavorful! read more

First and last time!!! Heard was a great place to get BBQ placed an order to go, service was great!! Got home and found out good was nothing like you'd expect, only real actual meat was the brisket, which was decent, and everything else we ordered was processed, turkey, sausage, and ham all processed meat and hardly any to zero smoke!!!! Not what you'd expect coming from a real BBQ place, prices weren't bad, but definitely reflects the quality of what they're trying to to pass off as Texas BBQ!!!! Extremely disappointed!!!!!! The only Bar-B-Q place in the area. Their meat has an excellent flavor I just wish there wouldn't add the sauce before the serve it to you. I prefer to add my own sauce of a particular flavor. Plus it adds weight to the meat and they serve it by the pound. They have done it this way for years so I guess nobody else cares. read more

Food was fine but absolutely terrible customer service. We ordered take out and they left out two sides, when I came back in to get the sides they were extremely rude and argued with me. I offered to pay for the sides again because I didn't feel like arguing and they still only brought me 1 of the 2 missing items. Wont be returning. read more

I ordered take out for the office and it was really good, the order was correct, it was super fast, everyone said they liked the food and the workers were nice. I ordered the sliced brisket platter with country beans and coleslaw. I really enjoyed it, the brisket was tender and smoky, corn bread was nice and not too sweet which I appreciate, the beans were perfect country beans and the coleslaw was just your standard fine diced BBQ spot coleslaw. As far as I know they only have 1 kind of BBQ sauce ( that's all they gave us) which is mild and vinegar forward as opposed to tomato. I liked it better than some of the other places in town and I'm wondering if they sell it. Skip the cookie cutter BBQ places that are everywhere and try this good down to earth place. Overall, I'm really glad they were open on this crazy cold snowy day and I will definitely go back when the weather is nicer to take advantage of the covered patio. read more

Juicy's has a backwoods type feel with a very friendly staff. It was a cafeteria style service. A simple menue which seems to average $10-15 for a lunch. We had a 2 meat combo, which came with 2 sides. The brisket and ribs is our protein with the mac n cheese and pinto beans for the sides. A corn bread muffin completed the combo. The ribs were moist and tender, but didnt carry any real smokey flavor. The brisket passed the pull test, but ate dry and packed a smoke or seasoning flavor. The available sauce was a tomato base with a thin consistency. The pinto beans did have a little flavor and a great vehicle to help down a dry corn bread muffin. For my $20 it was a fare amount of food, but nothing that will becon my return. read more

So, we have been to Jucy's a handful of times each year. The decor and place are like a glorified barn/ log cabin feel, but that doesn't take anything away from the food and the service. The staff are always helpful, nice, and patient when customers are ordering and making tough choices in the cafeteria-style line. The BBQ brisket is very good, but my favorite is their ham. They smoke it in something sweet (maybe a brown sugar glaze), so it is delicious! The cherry crumb dessert and fried potatoes are excellent too! On our last stop in there (picking up a catering order for my son's graduation party), the man offered my dad and I a smoked wing. This was a newer menu item, and so they were letting customers sample them. It had a very nice flavor, not overboard on the smoke flavor, crispy skin, and may have been even better with some good hot or BBQ sauce. * Texas style BBQ is what they say * Only one BBQ sauce, which is why I like getting it to-go. This week's local take out choice was BBQ (to be honest, this was our second visit this month). We called in our order and it was ready via the drive thru once we arrived from Louisville 20min later. They are seating customers inside up to 33% capacity, and there are plenty of picnic tables set up outside. We ordered the family pack for under $30 that feeds between 4-6 people.
